Ordered steak medium rare. Came out raw. Second steak came our rare. 3rd time came out medium well. For 44 dollars would expect more with less attitude. Order the fish!
Menu was extremely limited. I totally understand this during COVID. However the steak quality was really bad. Stringy, chewy and not tasty for $44. All 3 of us ordered and all took home KORE than half for the dogs.
During the virus dining has been ve challenging. My friend bought an apartment on Central Park and I wanted him to get to know some of the neighborhood restaurants. Our table was on the street with the gorgeous planters so beautifully done. Service was perfect and the food as always delicious. Bravo and hope you can keep it going.
Menu was limited, natural under the circumstances, but the food was ok and the waitstaff tried hard. We were seated near a table of three incredibly loud women and one young man, who carried on as if they owned the place (perhaps they did) and were joined by an equally noisy table hopper. They certainly didn’t model appropriate social distancing behavior!
My boyfriend and I go at least twice a month. Now that outside seating is open, we are so happy to be back!
Back in NYC for first time since March. Only restaurant we wanted to go back to was Orsay and it didn’t disappoint. Outdoor, lovely table. Wonderful server, amazing food. So happy to be back
Returning to Orsay after Covid-19 was a very pleasant experience.
Tables were at distance from each other, service was very good
I missed the omelette but your menu was great. I loved the chicken salad.
Had a lovely lunch outdoors to celebrate my daughter's graduation.
A rat ran across the restaurant when I was there. I will never eat here again
Terrible service and the food was bad. Two of us had the chicken and it was overdone and tasteless. The frisée salad was basically a bowl of salty bacon. Very disappointed. We are locals and will never return.
Fabulous! Food was terrific and great authentically French ambience.
Good food and service!
Drinks could be a little better but overall a good experience
Good food, good location, a bit noisy, wine by the glass overpriced
This is a wonderful spot that actually feels French! I love the atmosphere, the food is great and the specials are always interesting. Brunch is lovely too. I highly recommend this lovely spot.
Very beautiful restaurant. Excellent food. The noise level, however, made it extremely difficult to have a conversation. Additionally, as if it wasn’t noisy enough, they had to add some loud music to the mix (if you want to call what they were playing “music”).
Good French bistro food as always. Good wines by the glass help.
Well prepared main course and dessert. I recommend the salmon.
Stellar from the moment the host welcomes you. First class service, food and atmosphere. One of favorite spots on UES.
The food was delicious and it felt very Parisian, but it was very expensive.
Consistently delicious! Lively atmosphere and friendly service. My favorite local spot.
I go to Orsay every few weeks. Yesterday’s lunch was disappointing and not up to usual high standards.
Beautiful restaurant, very pricy. Good food, but not at that price
Great service. Helped me to select a better wine bottle than initially chosen. They had great attention to detail. The food came out timely and hot and was delicious. Will definitely return.
A very pleasing menu in a beautiful room with wonderful service from beginning to end.
French onion soup was bland, Coq Au Vin was horrible — blob of mashed potatoes with 2 precooked chicken thighs and a drumstick cooked fairly quickly with a spoonful of gravy. Mediocre experience.
Clearly a neighborhood hang-out with well-dressed couples and families enjoying the excellent value bistro fair. Polished staff works as a team to deliver an enjoyable experience. Within walking distance of The Met.
Orsay is a favorite standby for lunches or dinners. The service is great and the food is delicious.
Great UES French Bistro
The osso bucco is out of this world. Ditto the Parmesan grits. We loved the duck foie gras. And the best floating island creme Anglaise ever. The champagne is delightful. We have always enjoyed a great meal here!
Pretty good. Was worried about some of the bad reviews but found it to be a solid establishment serving traditional French fare, including the best steak tartare in town.
The should be commended -- all excellent. Nothing bad here. Just a bit noisy, with Old New York dark wood paneling style (hence the noise, I suppose).
Orsay is always just perfect for classic French cuisine. Perhaps the best fries in NYC as well. I love the place and hit it once every couple of months.
Always a pleasure to go to our neighborhood gem!
C’est chouette !
Nice family place as well as date night
