The food is amazing great. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The place is small but very attractive, modern and comfortable. Some tables are pretty close to each other wich gives it a Mediterranean vibe despite the contemporary design.
I have never before had Basque food and I liked it a lot. I especially recommend the BUÑUELOS DE BACALAO and the PATACAS.
Worth a visit!!
Staff was excellent. Our dinner was excellent and we plan on returning next time we are in NYC.
1st time there and highly recomend for lunch dinner meetings gatherings parties and more.
Menu changed. I preferred the previous menu.
Excellent food. The croquettes are outstanding and the octopus and Cochinillo, superb. The staff was very attentive and friendly. I’ll come back here every time I can.
Plumped first this restaurant at the last minute and wasn’t disappointed. Nice place and good value... went for the squid and Serrano gam for starters both of which were nice. For main my wife had the duck and I went for the Spanish octopus. Both cooked very well ... duck was very soft and seasoned well and my octopus perfect... creamy mash paired the two dishes well and washed down with a house wine as original choice wasn’t available which was a shame. Nevertheless a good value place with good food. Would recommend
Our anniversary dinner there was lovely started with a glass of proseco on the house.
Our paella was fun to share and our time there was very relaxing.
Perfect way to start our evening out on the way to the theater
The service was excellent.
The server was attentive but not intrusive.
There were a number of excellent wine options.
Our all around favorite dish was the Patacas. Everything cooked to perfection, flavorful, and excellent variety of mouth feel. Truly excellent. The other orders were small and underwhelming but The Cordero was also enjoyed.
Only complaint is restaurant’s social media postings are pretty outdated.
Great service, outstanding innovative menu
Very nice place and very good service. Highly recommended
Excellent food and service
Easily one of the best meals and overall dining experiences we’ve ever had. Food quality, service, everything. The wine pairing option was worth every penny and really enhanced the experience!
We celebrated some birthdays as a family a table of 8. We shared several plates, bottles of wine and dessert. It was a great night! The menu had great variety. Some of my favorites were the Pulpo- octopus, the Jarmon croquettes you really can never go wrong ordering these!!, the septa’s- wild mushrooms, bisteca - hanger steak. Atun- tuna. These were my favorite. Well seasoned. Cooked to perfection. Especially the pulpo.- which is hard to get right. We also enjoyed the tortilla, gambas, cochinillo, and a salad. The grapefruit gin and tonic was so good I had two! So fragrant!! We will definitely make it back.
Great pre theater menu and waitress was very aware of our time constraint with seeing a show. We will return!
First time at a tapas restaurant. Food and service was very good. I would recommend this place, a good date night.
great red snapper tartare and stuffed bell peppers. Especially loved the fact that most (if not all) the servers were from Spain!
Had a 5pm reservation and got there 30 minutes late. They squeezed us in so graciously, they were busy but still found a way to make it work. The service was impeccable, the food was amazing, and the cocktails were crafty and delicious. Five stars all around!
Went to try out a new place for NYC Restaurant Week. It was fantastic. The appetizers, the drinks, the entree and the desserts were all delicious. We will definitely be going back to Ortzi.
Very nice tapas and seafood paella is delicious. Don't let the location near Times Square fool you into thinking 'tourist trap', the food is good
Fabulous birthday night out.
Wonderful in every respect.
We were treated royally by Rafael and the entire crew!
We went for Restaurant Week. The service was good. Only had to ask twice for sweetener for my tea, but when I did get it, they brought me simple syrup as I had requested. Perfection!
The food was yummy all round. I highly recommend the risotto.
Although a bit loud for me, my main gripe is those bloody high chairs. I'm not a toddler. I like to put my feet on the ground. Although you could request a different time to get standard seating, that was all that was available at our reservation time.
All In all, we would probably go back again for the prefixe or the after theatre specials sometime.
We dined at Ortzi during Restaurant Week and so had a prix fixe meal, which was quite exquisite. While I couldn't help but peak at the regular menu and wonder 'maybe I should just do that,' the prix fixe selections were ample and we left the restaurant completely satisfied. From the Serrano ham an manchego cheese appetizer to the Branzino over orzo with calimari and mussels, every dish was very flavorful. The mushroom paella was a knockout. I was suspect ... mushroom paella? ... but wow, the mushrooms had an amazing roast flavor that was out of this world. Sad story: We asked to take the leftovers home but they never came back to the table and we walked out without them! The flan. I'm not a flan fan (say that 10 times fast) but I could eat this flan every day of the week.
