   I ordered the sea bass, with samphire. There was no samphire on the dish at all, they replaced it with broccoli and carrots. The sea bass was over cooked too. Not what I ordered at all. The wine was average but very expensive for the quality of it. Service was quite slow and we weren’t asked if we were happy with the meals at any point. Disappointed and won’t return

   Waited 30 minutes for starters which was prawn cocktail. Three tables were all served at the same time meaning the prawn cocktails were already made up. My mains was Kefalonia platter. Should have been shish kebab, souvlaki and kofta. No kofta, no explanation. The sea bass was overcooked and dry. Too much pepper. We asked for the wine list, but were asked what wine we wanted. We said Marlborough sauvingnon blanc. He brought a bottle which turned out to cost £31 a bottle. Needless to say we won't be going again.

   This was a really enjoyable and relaxing lunch . Food was well presented , tasty and pleasantly hot when served (as opposed to just about hot ) . Excellent value for money . A lovely dining area and ambience . Will definitely be returning to experience again .

   We go to the date night every last Fri in the month ! Weve never had a bad meal ! Great Value for money entertainment and food is always spot on 👍we look forward to going next month nice little treat 😊

   Food was lovely. Well cooked and presented. Menu had a good selection to suit all tastes. Service could have been better. Not very attentive. Several times we had to ask for someone to take drinks orders. A little slow, and I appreciate we were a large party, but there weren't many people dining at the time. Having said that I would like to go again in a smaller party and see if the service would be better.

    We had afternoon tea, with added Prosecci, for a birthday celebration. The service was impeccable but the food was disappointing. The lovely vintage china and tiered servers stocked with all the usual ingredients for a great afternoon tea raised our expectations. It was excellent to have options of mint tea and Earl Grey as well as standard tea. Unfortunately, we found the sandwiches unimaginative and clumsily put together; there were far too many odd bits of cake; the scones were enormous, almost a meal on their own; there were 5 of us, but the contents of the 3 platters did not provide each of us with the same choices. There should have been 5 of each element but that wasn't the case. So overall, not the best experience for us.

    1st visit in a long time. Sunday roast was hadby all. IT WAS AMAZING. Best gravy iv ever tasted. The whole 3 courses were well just amazing. Great staff great food. We have booked again for this sunday.

    The restaurant was lovely. The staff were friendly and very helpful, ensuring we were satisfied and happy with the food. The food was amazing and very substantial portions, no skimping. Aka in all, a very enjoyable experience and we will definitely be going back again. Highly recommended

    Myself and my family ate here on a Friday evening close to Easter. The service was excellent and extremely attentive, with our server offering recommendations and ensuring our needs were met. Although there was a wedding in the adjoining hotel, the mood and noise levels in the restaurant were relaxed. The food was excellent; we had ordered the vegetarian wellington, cheese and onion pie, and two lots of fish and chips which were all fantastic. There was an offer on the fish and chips which offered even more value for money. I would recommend Oscar's to anybody looking for somewhere nice to eat in the Ramsbottom area.

    We could choose which table we wanted. Water was offered without us having to ask for it. The ambient music was not intrusively loud, just right. The service was faultless. The food was very good and of good portion size.

    First impressions were good. Only one table of around six people about to order. We were shown to our table and immediately given menus and asked if we wanted drinks. I ordered two lager shandys and a latte. It was a few minutes before the shandys were brought, but what seemed like an age before we got the latte. It was warm at best, not hot as it should be, be we weren’t there to complain. Another couple were seated to the side of us, served drinks and then the waitress asked if they were ready to order - we’d been seated around fifteen minutes by then. I expected the waitress to take our order next, but I had to call her back to tell her we were ready to order - she didn’t seem happy. The meals were served in a reasonable time and came on slate plates a quirky idea but the waitress explained they were very hot, so we couldn’t put them into place properly until the cooled - not ideal. My mother and wife ordered the steak ciabatta, whilst I ordered the fish goujons on a bap. The goujons turned out to be ordinary fish fingers in breadcrumbs - really not happy but again, we weren’t there to complain. The meals were okay, nicely presented, apart from the red hot slate. We finished our meals, and it seemed like an absolute age before the table was cleared. The restaurant was getting busy, but not that busy that we should have to wait longer than normal for service. They didn’t seem short staffed. We were asked if we wanted the dessert menu, but just asked for the bill, which came promptly. I paid and we left. It was our first time at Oscar’s, no special occasion, but I’m not sure we would go back. The place itself is lovely and can’t be faulted, it’s just the service and fish fingers masquerading as goujons that I feel let it down.

    Booked on a recommendation and had a Sunday lunch roast beef. My wife had the lamb both really enjoyed the food in a lovely setting. Had the chocolate brownie this was amazing.

    Our lunchtime meal was excellent. A small family occasion for our 91 year old dad. The service was perfect and the food beautifully cooked and presented. It was fantastic value. Staff were attentive and courteous. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful so we were able to talk and hear each other without battling against noise. A very pleasant and first rate afternoon

    Disappointed! We were asked on the Open Table website if we wanted the Mothers Day menu or A La Carte. We chose A La Carte only to be told at the restaurant that this was unavailable because they were so busy. They had obviously tried to fit as many in as possible. We were in an overspill function room rather than the restaurant. Service was very slow and we felt like an inconvenience to the staff waiting on tables. The food itself was ok but it was a roast dinner. Not much to go wrong there.

    Confusion over booking even though I'd booked over 3 weeks ago and paid deposit, sat us at a dirty table, then had to wait for it to be full set up, felt very uncomfortable, 8 of us received starters, leaving one without, had to go find someone to rectify this as very little staff, again very uncomfortable experience, some pudding has sticky toffee sauce, some of the same didn't! Cold custard, all round a very unpleasant mother's day,

    Really wanted to say good things as we got married there 10 years ago but sadly the only half decent thing about the whole experience was the food (and that wasn’t really great). Everything took so looooong even coming to paying for our meal. I asked for the bill and after waiting 20 minutes for someone to pay I went to the counter on my way out On arrival I had to ask for drinks and after 30 minutes I asked if we were getting drinks? My reply “oh the till roll ran out and didn’t print the order” Food as I said was ok, the roast beef was excellent however the lamb was dry and tough. Veggies spot on, but cauliflower cheese isn’t cauliflower with cheese melted on top! Sadly won’t be going again- shame really

    On arrival we were shown to our seats and after a short wait our order for food and drinks were taken. After about a 20 minute wait we questioned where our drinks were. At this time our starters were brought and our drinks still hadn’t arrived. The food was fantastic but the drinks didn’t come until we were halfway through our starters. Once our starters were cleared we then waited again for our main courses. When they brought the mains, one of the orders was wrong and one of the party had to wait for the correct order. We had ordered more drinks but had finished our mains before they arrived. Again, the food was fantastic. We ordered desserts and once again, one of the orders was wrong, the food was fantastic again and we asked for the bill. After a 20 minute wait we still hadn’t received the bill and actually had to go up to the till to pay as we needed to leave. Food great, service not so great.

    We had a lovely visit for mother's. We had originally booked for 4 and I requested an extra place, last minute and they accommodated us with no problems. The food was lovely too. I think we dined at the right time as it got busier as the afternoon progressed, with families with small children, and so the noise level started to build ( not a criticism, I know children are welcome, it was Mother's day, and quite rightly too. It's just my preference for a quieter environment, which we enjoyed. There was a delay for a coffee we ordered, and they rectified this immediately and did not add this to the final bill. All the staff were lovely and attentive and we were not rushed at all. We will certainly return. Thank you for a lovely couple of hours Claire

    We have been here a couple of times recently. Once was a family group of 10 people to celebrate some birthdays and the other was a small family meal for 3. Both were for Sunday lunch . The level of service was excellent both times, with the waiter particularly making a bit of a fuss of the youngest child by making models from her serviette. She still talks about them now. The food was excellent and overall it was such a good meal that we are returning as a group for mothers day soon. Its a nice relaxed atmosphere that suits couples or families.

    First negative review of Oscars, food cold when delivered, service slow despite only having 9 other diners and Menu that had been advertised in the Tuesday no longer available - the sharing platter was one of the reasons we booked.
