The food was absolutely delicious - very fresh and beautifully cooked. Looking forward to going again.
Great staff serve food with passion and care. From the moment we arrived we were looked after like royalty and the food was simply perfect. Helpful and professional staff with a passion for what they do -thank you
Our server was very good, unobtrusive but there when needed him. The food was satisfactory, the tagliatelle was a little too al dente for me, but the boar ragu was good. The furnishings and decor were fine. The biggest drawback for us was the music. It was a strange electro-pop that was too jangling to fit in. If electro-pop is your thing then you found your new restaurant.
Found the restaurant on the day and did not read the review but it was a true gem. The service and food were spectacular. Definitely going again!
staff attentive, very good and helpful, steak cooked to what I want, sort of raw but very juicy, few pieces more of octopus will be perfect.
Pleasant meal and reasonably good value with the 50% off. However I would have been very disappointed had we paid full price. As it was, we paid £120 for 4 people (with the 50% off) and had one bottle of prosecco. We did not all have 3 courses and while the food we had was pleasant and we weren’t hungry when we left, it also didn’t feel like we got a lot of food for what we paid.
Beautiful food, beautiful restaurant!
I cannot rate this restaurant enough. It’s only been open a few months but heard great things about it. The food was fantastic. The crab pasta is crazy! Fresh, tasty and just melts in the mouth.
I also had the chocolate foundant and oh my goodness me, it was gorgeous! Lovely and chocolatey. AND gooey in the middle.
The waiting staff are friendly and professional. Our waiter (who was Colombian) was excellent. He gave us his recommendations and did everything he could to make sure our experience was every but as good as it was.
I would definitely recommend Ossobuco!!
I tried this restaurant 2 days in succession, once on my own and once with a guest. In terms of the environment, the restaurant has a nice feel, open plan kitchen and good bar area, major issue is the tables are too close together. The food is very accomplished. The carpaccio of beef was slightly underflavoured, so perhaps an air dried bresola may be a better option, this dish needs the best parmesan, rocket and olive all, all which could be improved to make this dish great, albeit probably have to increase the price. Squid rings and aubergine starters were also good. Main highlights were the rib-eye which was buttery and succulent with great flavour, and slightly better on the first night. The truffle pasta was also good, but needed the additional of parmesan to bring it to life. The chocolate puddings desert is great. A nice wine list with an excellent Barolo, available by the glass. Service is very good, attentive, friendly and knowledgable.
Very quiet during our visit - only about 6 tables occupied in a very large area, so atmosphere a little lacking. Food was lovely, but the quantities served for starters were very small - the octopus salad contained only 4 small pieces of octopus - but the main courses were as expected. Needed to order side dishes for veg & potatoes, as most of the dishes seemed to come without either. The only potato option was chips, which is unusual for an Italian restaurant.
The wine list is pricey. A few more reasonably priced wines would help, or the prices might put people off dining there.
Overall a reasonable experience with 50% off food, but I don't think we'd rush back at full price.
Personally I think the starters and the dessert are the best.
Great food in a very nice set! Perfect for a date!
Food was pretty good, service excellent. We opted for the 50% off ala carte offer. 1 starter and 2 mains plus glasses of house wine came to just over £50.
Interested to see who has replaced one of my old favourites, Fino and I wasn't disapointed. The layout has changed (in my view) for the better, although for anyone visiting for the first time, 33 Charlotte Street is actually on Rathbone Street!
Excllent menu with all plenty of classic Italian dishes, great service and lovely food.
This place is simply stunning. What makes it so stunning are the beautiful staff, flawless service and expertly executed dishes. This is not just another Italian. These guys use their best know how and the best ingredients and create something so mouthwatering I nearly overdosed on food and still wanted to keep going. Being a basement restaurant it feels cool and secluded and as such guests are seated all around the restaurant giving a much more spacious feeling. All staff could not offer enough expert advice about the menu and drinks and always keen to assist without ever being overpowering. Hidden gem that needs to be unveiled.
Very quiet (quite a big space and only one other couple dining when we were there), but we had booked quite early (5pm) - there were a few more people when we left at 7pm. Waiter was very attentive (sometimes a bit too much) but we were his only table. Food was tasty and arrived in good time. We had a 50% offer which made it good value but not sure I would pay the full price for what we had. Overall really enjoyed the setting, food and value and staff were friendly and helpful.
Good food and excellent service, good value too. My friend wasn't happy with too aldente pasta though.
Great value with promotional offers. Octopus starter was a generous, delicious serving. Ossobuco was delicious and again a good size with mash. The only area that could do with adjusting is the overly efficient service - taking plates before both diners finished and main course arriving too quickly after starter.
This new restaurant has very good italian food and the staff knew their stuff. Very friendly and welcoming
Very comfortable environment, love the pasta and the cocktail there. Had a nice time with my girl.
The food was really good, but my friend's ossobucco was really fatty.
The wine list is a little pretentious, and it's a shame that the cheapest bottle is French, not Italian.
Service was poor, except for the Manager who was running everywhere and served every table at some point. I hope you fix that soon, because the food suffered from it.
An excellent lunch - many thanks.
I live the way the restaurant looks. Lots of detailed things within. Ambience was lovely!! I think in time some of the staff will get use to how things work in a restaurant. Such as making sure they ask if you’re finished before taking the plate even if there is one bite left. I think every staff should have their own recommendations for when a customer asks. Never ever say it’s all good, customers don’t want to hear that! We had what looked almost like a manager as he was in a suit, very welcoming!! Asked if we were okay during our visit. We 100% felt valued as a customer and we have already recommended the place to loads of people. Unfortunately I have dietary requirements so I couldn’t choose from the whole menu but I did find a few options which is great!!
Main portions slightly small but very tasty. Proper Italian - beef carpaccio was delicious, pasta properly dente and overall very nice. The starter dishes are also suitable for tapas style dining.
Great little find just off Charlotte Street. Great service, food and ambience. Will definitely go again. And reasonably priced too.
I almost never leave reviews. But this restaurant was fantastic. It’s only been open a couple of months so hasn’t been discovered by everyone yet so it wasn’t too loud. Food was incredibly tasty and great quality. If you want a real Italian restaurant not just pizza it’s pefect. It’s slightly pricy each dish could be a couple of pounds cheaper, but it is still value for money. Nice prossecco too. :)
Lovely staff, good food and I hope they get the success they deserve
We did the set menu, food was excellent and portion size was very generous, staff were very friendly. I will go again
Two of us for a business lunch. Attentive and efficient service. We both ordered hand made pasta but chosen different sauces to go with it. The pasta was fresh, had the right texture and was cooked well. The sauce was very tasty and light, clearly made with fresh ingredients, including the tomatoes. A side of green been was cooked just right and dressed in melted butter. I will go back.
I love eating and cooking Osso Bucco (double c) so ordered it. Besides having a marrow bone it bore little resemblance to the classic Italian dish. The meat was obviously cooked separately and not connected to the bone. The risotto was bright yellow, not flavoured and coloured with saffron but some cheaper colouring. I asked for gremolata and got micro herbs. We won't be returning.
Brilliant food and great service. Definitely be coming back.
