Osteria Morini DC
A longtime favorite - for fine and creative food, just the right ambience, knowledgeable staff, and a prize location.
Good food and service, but best of all is the view over the Potomac River from the restaurant. Even though I think that all tables must have a river view, try to get a table near the window .
The restaurant is beautiful but the food was not as good as we expected it to be given the price. There are many other, better Italian restaurants in the DMV area that are more appropriately priced given their value. However the staff was very polite and professional and the ambience was wonderful.
Food was amazing but service was slow
Amazing food! Some of the best pasta I’ve had in the DC area.
Once our favorite rest
Fantastic! We went for Restaurant Week but my fiiends ordered off the regular menu. The serious foodie said that the pasta dish she ordered (gramigna verde) was the best pasta she had ever eaten! High praise!
The entire lunch we were looking and calling for our server whom appeared to forgot our table. Servers in the past were very professionals a little training in service orientation could help. servers were distracted talking to each other.
This was our third visit to Osteria Morini, this time with my wife's daughter, husband and eighteen month grandson. A terrific meal that was appreciated by all. The setting on the waterfront is great! We will definitely be back again !.
Osteria Morini is one of my favorite restaurants and it is right in my neighborhood. My husband and I walked down there for brunch last Sunday and it was wonderful. It was a beautiful day and we sat outside and looked at the river. The lemon ricotta donuts (bomboloni) served with vanilla creme anglaise and strawberry compote were SO good. I had gnocchi with tomato basil sauce because even though it was brunch, I just can’t resist their pasta. My husband had hanger steak served over polenta with a fried egg. All delicious! The service was great as always.
Great food and environment but you cannot speak calmly with the person at your own table because the surrounding conversations are so loud!!!! The exterior seating is much better to enjoy the restaurant.
I live just outside of NYC, so I have had the good fortune of eating at Marea and Ristorante Morini many times. Osteria Morini did not disappoint. The pastas were all delicious, staff was attentive and well trained and the Manager, Rob, was absolutely fantastic. The Wine List is short but you can find some very well-priced gems on it and the stemware and wine service were both excellent. Oh, and the setting right by the river is gorgeous.
Lovely waterfront setting and inventive, well-prepared Italian menu. The service was polished and prompt, and the sound level was moderate on a weekday evening around seven. We would recommend Osteria Morini as an excellent choice in the Navy Yard area.
One of the better meals I’ve had in DC. The food and drink were excellent. The burrata was to die for, we each tried different pastas and all were fabulous, and we were celebrating numerous accomplishments and the waitress overheard and brought us delicious ice cream for dessert. Everything was phenomenal!
Pasta was super salty, wasn’t able to eat dinner and still inedible after they remade it. The manager and waitress were both extremely accommodating and delivered great service. Did not charge me for my entree and gave my table a free desert.
Service was poor. Waiter came by the table once to drop off meal. No bread, drink refills, ask how meal was doing, bad
Brunch and service were excellent! Looking forward to dinner soon.
Wonderful!!! Pasta was so great and fresh. Great wine selection and wonderful cheese board.
We are so happy that Osteria Morini had re-opened since the fire. The food was as good as ever! We were also delighted to find that our favorite servers were still on staff, because management had paid them while the restaurant underwent repairs. Looking forward to our next visit!
Ate lunch at the counter— excellent selection of half a dozen pastas... came with the house white or red. Plenty of leftovers for another meal, and all for $15 😉
Old friend visiting
Great food, as always, and even better service!
Love everything about this place! Service is excellent, food is amazing and atmosphere is perfect for a date, get together with friends or family gathering. Love the water view also. All around number one pick for me in the area.
The food and setting are lovely! However, we went with a large group of people and felt like our server tricked us into ordering way too much food but claiming that portions are smaller than usual. This is definitely incorrect. Portion sizes are quite generous, if not rather large, in fact.
Second time we've been here. The food is delicious! we will be back.
Can’t say enough good things about this recent discovery at the navy yard. Steps to the water. We were 8 people - everyone had great, fresh, wholesome Italian food in portions designed to leave you room to enjoy desert.
Moises the waiter was pleasant, courteous & professional.
Exceptional lunch value. Walk by the Potomac after or wade in the architectural pool next to it.
The only missing ingredient was better bread & olive oil to accompany the meal.
The service was excellent. Our waiter Martin Mejia was so excellent and just made the evening special.
We have enjoyed dining at Osteria Morini many times and expect to enjoy doing so many times more. The food has always been innovative won’t keep me from going back.
They weren’t serving our favorite menu item because of broken equipment which was disappointing. The Parmesan gelato is why we came!!! Several tables with very loud and unruly children so it was unusually loud.
Poor customer service. I'm not ever going back. Just writing more because its required.
Food is excellent as always.
Love Osteria Morini. Great meat and cheese plates, plus yummy burrata. The cappeliti is to die for..mmm butter sauce. We tried the squid ink pasta and it was great! One of our favorite places for dates and also with our daughter as their plain pasta for kids is very tasty! Plus their rosemary focaccia is fantastic. Highly recommend!
I love this restaurant. I've been 3 or 4 times and the food is always delicious. The atmosphere is fantastic. Service is pretty good, I've had both good waiters and just decent waiters, I have never had poor service here. The drinks are great too. I'd have to say their gelato is the BEST in all of DC. Even sitting outside it's pretty quiet.
Most delicious, authentic Italian food. Very noisy in the restaurant, but worth it for the food and service.
Great service, good recommendations.
Wonderful experience for my birthday dinner with family and close friends. Delicious homemade pasta and great atmosphere.
Great outdoor seating view by the water in Navy Yard.
Had a wonderful time. Our server was very warm and personal. The food was fantastic. Three different dishes that all of us approved of.
It was easy to get in a must do restaurant...well worth it! The service all around was friendly, courteous and all around great.
