About

Ostuni has opened its second site in Highgate Village, replicating the beautiful and inspired setting to take you to the heel of Italy, Puglia. With stone from Locorotondo adorning the walls, bar and floor you will find the rustic elegance that reminds us of the most common elements found when travelling the land of sea, sky and stone.
Puglia is a region that represents what Italian food is all about; simplicity and flavour. Imported seafood and cheeses and sunshine-ripened produce at its peak. Ostuni serves the traditional pastas of the region, Puglian seafood specialities and meats such as the Bombette from the charcoal fired Fornello Pugliese.

Started well, with a couple of decent starters and friendly welcome. Meny promises much but delivered poorly. Service went quickly down hill at the night wore on.

Our local Italian restaurant. Rustic, friendly and authentic puglian fare. The house red and even the glassware is from puglia! Light fluffy pizza and beautiful pasta!

Nice local restaurant with good Italian food and wines. Spacious but popular so busy. Prices a bit high, for two we had starters, pasta and one dessert plus 4 glasses of wine and came to £105 which we thought was a bit high and service a bit slow

I had the crab pasta - good except a bit over salty (even for me as I am someone who likes a lot of salt).

My husband's octopus pasta was very disappointing. - just seemed to be tomato sauce with almost no octopus in it.

Lovely food. Great to have Italian food with a regional flavour, rather than the everyday, generic Italian which can be a bit predictable and dull. Love the dishes from Puglia!

Three girl friends meet up for each of their birthdays and we try to find a different venue each time. One of us is veggie so we always try to find a place where there is a good variety of veggie foods. The ambience in the Highgate Ostuni is great. Plenty of room between tables, continental farmhouse-like decor; all very pleasing. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the food was delicious.

Great Zuccini fritti. Good vibrant atmosphere. Service was very slow. We complained that one salad was so salty it was inedible and nothing was done about it.

My dish was tasty but way too rich (slow cooked lamb) and made me feel queasy. The decor was pleasing though... If I went back I would try the pizzas. They looked good.

This restaurant is a definite one to miss,
I had to write this review to let other diner's know how bad our experience was,
Working in Highgate we decided to go for dinner and booked a table for 3 of us.
First we ordered some starters which were worse than average at a high price and leaving one part of the starter off until we pointed it out.
For our main course we ordered the special which was Seafood Pasta, when it came it was almost cold and smaller than a child's portion with the mussels also cold and have no taste, this dish was £14.95
I pointed all this out to the manager and he apologised without doing anything about it at all.
The most annoying thing of all is when i asked for the bill, which was over £90 nothing was said so i paid under duress and felt that we were really badly ripped off.
I have heard many bad reviews about Ostuni and now i know why.
The whole meal was disgusting and cannot recommend anybody ever trying it there.

The food was good as usual and the whole sea bass baked in salt was excellent. The expanded pizza menu alternative was attractive to the younger members of the family. We had a very enjoyable double birthday celebration.

The service is slow and grumpy and apart from the starters the food was really quite poor especially the pasta which was heavy thick and left me feeling queasy. We complained about the worst of the pasta dishes and left it almost untouched but it remained on our bill. We then complained about an inedible semifreddo and very grudgingly it was taken off the bill.

Went to Ostuni in Highgate having been to the one in Queens Park. The menu is good and the food delicious although the prawn starter was a bit disappointing having only been given two in total for £7.95! Friendly and good service. Good Dining experience.

Came back from Tuscany and the weather was depressing so we went up to Ostuni for lunch and had a wonderfully tasty experience. Next time we go to Italy, we might try Puglia!

An enjoyable experience, but rather over-priced, I thought. As I am disabled (bandaged legs), I found access excellent, with no steps. The waiters were all very courteous and helpful, but rather scruffier than most of the diners. The absence of background music was a definite plus.

Love Puglia so we thought we'd try Ostuni. I absolutely loved it. There is something about the ambiance, decor and welcome that immediately felt just right. The service is very friendly without being overdone and the choice of food was impressive. My companions' food was all very good - prawns were excellent as was the pork. The proseccco was very good as was the half carafe of red we chose. I chose a special which was lobster spaghetti. Actually it wasn't totally great. It was much better than in many places where you need a microscope for the lobster - here you get a good half in its shell. The body was very good but the claw felt as if it had been frozen and hadn't quite recovered. The pasta and sauce were delicious.
Having read the reviews, I had asked for a quieter table and we were seated in the room to the left of the entrance which was definitely quieter than the other one.
All in all, I can't wait to go back.

Very good quality food with excellent vegetarian options- lovely crunchy salad and delicious hand made pasta. Service was very attentive without being intrusive and happy to explain the Puglian ingredients and dishes and wines - not cheap but well worth it for a special get together with old friends.

We have been to Ostuni on a previous occasion and enjoy the authentic Puglia food. The food was overall good, however one of our reasons for going was the Burrata cheese which sadly was old sold out by the time we ate. I wish they put something on their website to warn diners that it can go quiet quickly.
