Paco Tapas Ratings and Reviews
Amazing food and superb attending staff. However wear something very light - hot as hell because of the open BBQ and bonfire in the corner of the kitchen. Did the tasting menu which was just fantastic. A very good experience and worth a visit - keep up this standard and you will be the best restaurant in Bristol for a long time.
We loved our lunch at Paco Tapas and the staff had the chance to be really attentive and informative due to the fact there weren’t many covers, which was great! The food was superb and the patatas braves were very authentic! Definitely somewhere to go for a real treat.
Had an excellent evening her with my wife. Unbelievably tasty food, all very simply prepared but delicious. Sherry pairings with the food were equally delicious and very interesting to learn about the different types of sherry from the friendly waiters. Can’t wait to come back!
It was up there with some of the best restaurants I've been to.
Everything was cooked perfectly, and some dishes with different approach than normal with a lot of flair. The rump of lamb was the best lamb I've ever had. And the tortilla was special. All excellent. See you again.
Not our 1st visit, as good as ever, great sherries and fantastic food. We chose not to have the set menu, but picked favourites from the menu. I love the way the Team ensure it comes in an order that is agreeable. Still has the best Chocolate Mouse ever. Try it.
Another amazing meal at Paco Tapas....1st time having the chef's menu. Every single mouthful of food was sublime. Friendly, vibrant, passionate staff and atmosphere....we discussed that it's like entering a family - a community of people wanting to give the best of times to their customers as you walk in - you feel part of it all - I don't know how you manage to create that feeling! We absolutely loved it - thank you! However I forgot to tip which feel terrible about as had to fight to pay the bill instead of my friends and in the fight for the bill I forgot! But the service was fab. And the free pudding for the non-chef's menu vegetarian (me!) was much appreciated. See you very soon!
Friends had visited recently and raved about this place so we decided to try it out. We weren't disappointed. Everything was excellent. Lots of places do "taps" and you often leave feeling disappointed and hungry. Neither here. We sat at the bar / kitchen table and had the set menu to. 8 or do dishes and we were stuffed. The service was excellent. Definately a new favourite and we will be heading back.
As we walked in, you are immediately greeted by the smell of applewood, and then the foh staff. Which were attentive throughout. Although not cheap, this is reflected in the quality of the ingredients, from the bread, to the beef and other meats. The food was both modern and authentically Spanish, as well as being interesting and in some instances pretty ballsy. For the Chefs menu we paid £50 which, for what is essentially the tapas equivalent of a tasting menu it feels like good value due to the quality of what you receive. Glad they got their star, thoroughly deserved!
I took my boyfriend here for his birthday, we ate at Casamia lunchtime which was amazing.... however both of us enjoyed Paco Tapas it surpassed all expectations.... it was incredible! We sat at the bar opposite the coal fire, it was warm but truly an amazing experience. We watched the chefs work and prepare dishes with speed, precision and immense pride! The paco family are incredible I cannot praise them highly enough.
We had the chefs taster menu which for £50 each was brilliant, a taste of everything!
I cannot wait to come back again.
Thanks everyone who helped make this a truly memorable experience xxxx
Great evening with some fabulous food. Would recommend the crab croquettes, pork ribs & padron peppers although we managed to get 3 chilli ones!! We were seated in front of the chefs area so we could see all the food being prepared. The chefs also talked us through the different dishes and were really attentive as were the waiting staff.
We visited Paco Taps last night for my wife's birthday. After checking out the menus for a few of Bristols other new favourites, I booked a table online and we reserved our table for 7pm. We were greeted by a very friendly front of house and were immediately aware of the smell of the woodfired grill and various smells reminiscent of Barcelona. A very friendly and helpful waiter ran through the menu with us, explaining what to expect. I must admit that initially we were a bit taken aback by the prices as others have also mentioned in other reviews.. £7 for two Jamon Croquettes does seem a little crazy but when you try them.. Well, I won't spoil it for you.. Just try them..
Poss the best Tapas meal I've ever had, including meals in Spain.
We had three dishes each Inc the lamb rump (incredible), aged manchego cheese and honey (beautiful), rainbow carrots (full of different flavours), bread and oil, the aforementioned croquettes and creama catalana to finish.. Plus two glasses of sauvignon blanc.. £68.. Very contrary to another review which suggested you had to spend £130 for two. And we were very full!
Lovely friendly service too.
We'll be back.
I would recommend trying to get a kitchen view table.. We had line of sight of the kitchen from the corner table which was great, but I can sympathise with the other reviewer who was sat by the toilet door!
Just perfect. Buzzing atmosphere and amazing food. The staff have personality and know a lot about the food and drink. Just had a really great time and don't remember the bill being toooo big. Not the cheapest place but not overly expensive and totally totally worth it
We were seating at the bar in front of the chef station. We had the chef tasting menu. The food, cooked on a wood fire was fantastic and the quality of the ingredients was amazing. The head chef served us personally all night, he had such an attention to detail, great service.
