Our ever changing menu combines traditional tapas with personal interpretations from Michelin starred Chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias, whilst staying true to the vibrant and comforting flavours of his heritage.
No tapas bar is worth its salt without a carefully crafted sherry list - just ask Paco! So, we've handpicked ours, and offer them by the glass, bottle or shaken into the finest cocktails.
Thanks to all our amazing suppliers & team we are realising another Sanchez Brothers dream - A modern tapas bar bringing a taste of Andalusia to Bristol. Whether you're coming para picar, for a glass of sherry or a tapas feast we can't wait to see you!
Tiny place. Excellent food. Great Sherry choice. Must book as full most of the time. Definitely going back me
We had a great meal, staff are lovely attentive but not pushy. All in all a wonderful evening this was our second visit and we will definitely be back again. Thank you
So good! Had the tasting menu and sat at the bar. Just so good
Music a bit loud. Pricing a little on the expensive side.
Wow! What a gem of a restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel very welcome. The staff were all very friendly & chatty which certainly added to our fantastic meal. The food was sublime! We’ve never had such good tapas. The taste & presentation was perfect and the love poured out of every dish. We’ve told everyone back in Newport about Paco Tapas and cannot wait to visit again. Thanks guys...you very much made my husband’s birthday weekend! Hope to see you soon
A Must visit , 4th time for me and each time is always a pleasure 👌🏻
Such a great choice. We sat at the bar overlooking the charcoal grill, which was really entertaining. The staff were fantastic, with great recommendations and super helpful and friendly. The food was sensational. Would highly recommend.
Some of the best tapas I have ever had. From the waitress to the wine it was fantastic. Will definitely be returning.
Amazing food! The only downside was the smoke-filled room. My wife’s hair smelled of smoke for a bit but a small price to pay for the food. Quote “the best scallops I’ve ever had in my life”.
We enjoyed a lovely meal here with friends. Delicious food. The air was a bit smoky from the kitchen fire though.
Stunning food and service as usual. Highlights were the lardo wrapped scallops and the superbly succulent presa ibérica. It may be 90 miles away from where we live but we’re always treated like locals. Can’t wait to come back again.
Meeting our daughter and her new husband for lunch while in Bristol for a few days. Exceptional food and service by any standard. We all really enjoyed. We have been to the restaurant a number of times. This was the best.
We thought it was a bit overrated and very over-priced. While they have some excellent dishes - don't miss the croquetas and the ribs if they're on - the majority of the dishes were very average. That put together with very mediocre service made for a dinner we will not rush to repeat. I was very surprised they have a star, as the experience fell well short of other Michelin recognized restaurants. We never felt welcomed and the dishes came out in the wrong sequence. They pressured us to order all at once and then we ended up with dessert cheese before meat entrees.
Excellent food & service as always. Never fails to live up to expectations
It is indeed our favorite restaurant in Bristol! Service was excellent and food exceptional!
Best tapas ever! 100% recommend! Have been loads of times and I never get tired of their food!
Great food but definitely not good value for money. We felt it was very expensive for what we had. Also, the music was a little noisy. Staff great though and the food was tasty.
Stunning clean cut tapas with committed seasoning and the flavours of fire.
Delicious food, informative and confident service. A delightful evening
Our expectations for this place were very high as there were some rave reviews.
On the plus side the service was good, knowledgeable and attentive.
Sadly, the quantities were small ( can you really share one croquette between two?) and the food was very heavily salted, not just one dish, which can be an aberration, but two ( the croquettes and the patatas bravas). We were also disappointed that some of the typical Spanish tapas dishes were not on the menu ( eg the Spanish meatballs, albondigas).
The quail dish was delicious, but not worth it for the rest of the overpriced tapas.
We left and went onto another tapas bar for an additional tapas each , which was much tastier and better value for money.
Sat by door as most seating was we were very cold as were other customers , nearly kept coat on, kept my scarf on, which in turn affected dinning experience
Maybe heater on wall would help
Felt at the prices we were paying , waiting staff should be topping up your wine glass, not ourselves
Just absolutely fantastic!!! We are already planning our next visit
A really fantastic meal, with the salt marsh lamb stew being a highlight. Amazingly tasty food, good atmosphere and very attentive and friendly service. I would recommend Paco to anyone!
If you're just after Padron peppers and a bog standard 'menu for Brits on holiday in Spain' you're in the wrong place. Quality food and wine, beautifully presented. Each new dish was a delight. Very happy for a lunchtime in Bristol.
Come here a few times a year. Food is always up to a very high standard every time. The croquets are the best I have ever tasted. Usually order at least two plates! Only slight thing this time was, because it is an open kitchen and small space the charcoal smoke was quite overbearing and I left with all my clothing and hair smelling of a bonfire! Not sure how they would solve this as it is part of the cooking process. Just thought it was worth mentioning.
This was not the first time we have been to Paco. We have been twice before and loved it. However, this time round a lot has changed. The staff are not educated about the menu, do not listen to basic requests and the music was so loud they were playing club tune in a Michelin star restaurant?! Did not match the atmosphere at all and felt more for the staff than the customers. We had to ask them three times to turn it down as the bass was so loud myself and my partner were shouting over the table to hear each other. It used to have a lovely atmosphere and caring and attentive staff whereas now the prices have gone up for somewhere that was already expensive, the staff are not trained to the level or quality of the restaurant, they are trying to rush you out the door as soon as they can because all they care about now is table turnover and the music is unbearably loud. Not sure I would bother coming again and spending £140+ for what I experienced despite how outstanding the food itself was.
It’s an incredible place, food, service and atmosphere is all on point!
Had the most amazing evening. The service and food was incredible. I can’t wait to go back!
We love Paco. It is all a taste sensation. It is our favourite place to celebrate special occasions.
Having been here once before I chose it as a Birthday Meal venue for my very special Significant Other and it was just as great as I hoped. It isn't inexpensive but shouldn't be given the quality of the food and the perfectly attentive very friendly but in no way intrusive service. We will aim to return with friends on a future date. It was quite noisy because it was someone else's Birthday but to be honest that added to the atmosphere even if one or two of our exchanges at our table had to be repeated. Really wonderful experience and much appreciated
Brilliant meal and atmosphere, would highly recommend
Great food as always. My favourite restaurant in Bristol!
Paco Tapas is a fantastic restaurant, all food was to the best standard and the wine was fantastic too.
Lovely food! But super noisy - sounded like we were in a club and very smoky from the kitchen.
A small and intimate environment with a friendly atmosphere. We decided to go with the chef's menu, which was a taster menu, that didn't disappoint. The food was tasty and very good. My partner questioned whether a tapas bar could be Michelin rated. If it's based on the quality of the ingredients then yes. I would go again just to try out the normal menu. Very satisfied
Food was tasty but a little style over substance.
I feel like a few things weren’t given the love they needed. For example we spent a lot of time de-veining our prawns , which we have no problem doing except when you’re at a high level restaurant and paying more than at other restaurants it’s the little things that need to go that extra mile.
Drinks were sublime , ribs mediocre , the butternut squash truly phenomenal it blew my mind and mouth.
Staff were really attentive through the dining experience, but we watched two ladies get locked in the bathroom for ages and had a strange moment at the end of the night were there was confusion in paying for the bill.
Would definitely go back , maybe just a bad night and would recommend.
Excellent . Definitely be back, highly recommend. Had bar seat the beer in house.
Lovely food, top service and great to chat to the chefs whilst they work. Been twice will be back again.
Service was not good enough standard for a Michelin star restaurant.
Extremely noisy due to a boys 21st birthday party, other diners could not hear the self talk and were asking to be moved elsewhere. The food was delicious, however expensive for what you received, portion sizes small.
