The taster menu was just lovely. The best bits without having to pick from the a la carte. It's the first time since Covid lock down that we've been out to eat and the last time before baby number 2 arrives. It was a wonderful anniversary treat. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. The day we booked for was particularly hot and so it was quite warm inside otherwise I would have put a higher rating. Also at times I did have you ask my husband to speak up over a few of the tunes that were playing over head. All in all though it was a lovely and reasonably priced evening.
The restaurant itself is very nice however not much can be said for the food. Generally the food was over salted and I would say that the tortilla was ridiculously over salted. I was also disappointed the the waiter did not ask once how any of the dishes were. Given the notoriety of Paco Tapas I left thoroughly disappointed.
Sensational. Great mix of dishes in tasting menu. Really helpful, and non-obstructive service. Absolutely delicious loved every moment.
The best bread and oil we’ve ever eaten! Pork ribs to die for and octopus that literally melted in the mouth. Delicious!
A wonderful experience - first time out since lockdown and thought we would go somewhere special. Excellent ingredients simply but expertly prepared. Really friendly front of house. We had the chefs menu which covered most of the house specialities. The mackerel grilled in pork fat was the standout choice, although I will also call out the toasted bread and chargrilled leek as superb. Very pleasantly surprised by the bill- perhaps too used to London pricing but this felt like great value for money (especially with the £20 off for the eat out scheme).
Our party had the tasting menu and still talk about some of the courses we had. Great food and pleasant service.
Fantastic as always, but even more impressive was the quality and service while still maintaining a safe experience.
The restaurant is noisy , loud music blasting so we were lucky to find a table outside with electric heaters. The staff were friendly and professional but the meal is expensive and well over priced. The tapas arrived in stages, which is normal but the final dishes to arrive were large aubergines and courgettes, which had little seasoning and flavouring. The earlier tapas dishes were nice, but there’s not a lot of them, in contrast to the large dishes of courgettes and aubergine. Wine too is well overpriced at around £40 per bottle. Someone is making serious money but at the expense of overrated food.
All in all we enjoyed the evening but it is not somewhere I’d go again.
Sorely disappointed. Whilst the food was good, the portions were small, the pice was crazy and the delay between dishes was long
A great place to eat. Lovely tapas and a good feel to the place. Also delicious cocktails, would recommend the daiquiri. Staff were knowledgeable and able to talk about the food. Definitely worth a visit.
brilliant to see them open again - tables nicely spaced out, everything spotlessly clean. The food and the staff were as brilliant as ever and they have expanded into more space inside and outside which makes for a very comfortable and reassuringly safe eating experience. It was an absolute pleasure to eat here again and I would definitely recommend it as a post-lockdown treat!
My husband and I decided to book Paco Tapas as our 1st meal out since lockdown and to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. We picked the Chef's Selection menu for the variety of dishes offered however we found that we enjoyed only about half of the dishes from this menu. Most dishes were extremely salty (as they would usually in Spain however we are just not used to it) however the seafood and vegetarian dishes were cooked extremely well.
The main issue with the poor scoring is the lack of Covid19 social distancing rules. The tables might have been spaced out however the walking corridor was still so narrow that the staff were practically touching me to explain the menu/serve your food/collect payments. It's a shame as I was making progress on my anxiety about this disease and now I feel I'm back to square 1. No masks, face shields or gloves used by any staff member. Very disappointing as this experience has made me nervous about eating out again.
Great location, and we managed to get a table outside overlooking the mini harbour. Staff attention to diner's requirements was exemplary. Slight issue on a couple of occasions with not maintaining social distancing when in conversation.
Food was good, we had the Chef's menu as we had a gift voucher for this. The food was nicely presented and in the main the food was cooked well, except the stuffed quail which was undercooked (possible personal preference, but they didn't ask beforehand).
The biggest criticism I have is that there is not value for money - the quantity and quality did not warrant the £120 for two people. Drinks are pricey too and the glasses of wine come in 125ml!!!
Great food, excellent service - the quail and the tortilla were stand outs!
Amazing food, great atmosphere and lovel location right by the harbourside.
Another excellent meal at Paco Tapas. The food was its usual high standard and as tasty and high quality as ever. Service was not quite as slick but not a problem.
Everything was amazing from the padron peppers, the courgettes and fillet tail amongst other dishes all were really good
Great Veggie choices, food is amazing, and the staff are always lovely. Love this place.
Excellent service, beautiful setting. Great food and wine.
Good little restaurant, with a nice ambience. Service was excellent. Fairly pricey.
The whole experience was truly excellent and the portion size for the chefs menu was great... left feeling absolutely stuffed!
Delucious food, great atmosphere, highly recommended
Excellent menu, food and staff. Really enjoyed our visit and will absolutely be visiting again (and very likely again after that). Can’t really fault any aspect of our experience and equally have no desire to do so - it’s just very good.
An excellent restaurant! Such fun, friendly staff; incredible food and a lively atmosphere. A great place to be really spoilt!
Second time coming here. Still just as blown away with the whole experience as the first time!
Food is great and service as well. The place is nice but rather small and a bit noisy, but the selection of music was nice.
We had such a great evening at Paco Tapas. The atmosphere was so vibrant, relaxed and warm just what we wanted. The food was delicious, would definitely recommend the chefs menu. I can't wait to go back.
One of the best places we have eaten in Bristol we were especially lucky to get the bar table so enjoyed banter with the chefs and saw how they worked..!
A truly wonderful restaurant....love coming back for a special meal. Expect to pay above the norm.
Fantastic location and nice ambience. Food nice but not that special.
Food very good, but rushed out and told we had 10min to have pudding so they could use the table again. Which was a real shame as had to rush and didn’t have time to finish our wine.
We enjoyed the convivial feel about the restaurant, easy going relaxed evening
Brilliant food and service, would highly recommend
Came away feeling so inspired. My partner have not had food like that in such a long time, it’s so difficult to find food cooked like that in Bristol. Highly recommend. Staff were excellent and that is including chefs. Absolutely buzzing from the whole experience!
Excellent food, great service. A very nice special occasion venue!
Great food, great service and great atmosphere. A fantastic experience.
The food was fantastic probably the best tapas I have tasted. My only slight complaint was we were given two seats on the bar overlooking the kitchen. It was interesting watching the Chefs prepare the food but it was very cramped as we had a table behind us and two people by our sides. Fully understand the use of space generates income but we would of preferred a table. Great food and staff were very helpful. Will go again
Delicious food with the warmest, most amazing front of house. Come as a customer, but leave as a friend. An absolute delight.
As you would expect tapas means small plates, what I didn’t expect was the same cooking technique for pretty much every dish.Virtually all the cooked food is done over a charcoal grill which is fine but it means you don’t get the subtle flavours that you would anticipate from a restaurant of this standing. If your expectations are that you are going to have a Michelin star meal then in my view you have to think again and probably go elsewhere. If you want some very nice tapas and are happy to pay quite a lot for it then go!
been a couple of times now since they opened a few years back. as usual, food is good but portions are small (even for tapas), though prices have steadily increased. But wine remains decently priced. However this most recent time i visited, service was a letdown. It has never been great, but this time it was just poor - sloppy, clumsy, overly familiar, no initiative, uncoordinated, not professional at all despite my table spending a lot of money. Having been to every M-starred restaurant in Bristol and plenty more elsewhere - this has easily the worst service. Used to be good, but the restaurant is now complacent and has lost its way. If you know anything about dining well and have a shred of dignity - give this place a skip. Bar44 does a similar job for half the price and the drinks are great. You'll thank me later
