Our ever changing menu combines traditional tapas with personal interpretations from Michelin starred Chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias, whilst staying true to the vibrant and comforting flavours of his heritage.
No tapas bar is worth its salt without a carefully crafted sherry list - just ask Paco! So, we've handpicked ours, and offer them by the glass, bottle or shaken into the finest cocktails.
Thanks to all our amazing suppliers & team we are realising another Sanchez Brothers dream - A modern tapas bar bringing a taste of Andalusia to Bristol. Whether you're coming para picar, for a glass of sherry or a tapas feast we can't wait to see you!
A small and intimate environment with a friendly atmosphere. We decided to go with the chef's menu, which was a taster menu, that didn't disappoint. The food was tasty and very good. My partner questioned whether a tapas bar could be Michelin rated. If it's based on the quality of the ingredients then yes. I would go again just to try out the normal menu. Very satisfied
Food was tasty but a little style over substance.
I feel like a few things weren’t given the love they needed. For example we spent a lot of time de-veining our prawns , which we have no problem doing except when you’re at a high level restaurant and paying more than at other restaurants it’s the little things that need to go that extra mile.
Drinks were sublime , ribs mediocre , the butternut squash truly phenomenal it blew my mind and mouth.
Staff were really attentive through the dining experience, but we watched two ladies get locked in the bathroom for ages and had a strange moment at the end of the night were there was confusion in paying for the bill.
Would definitely go back , maybe just a bad night and would recommend.
Excellent . Definitely be back, highly recommend. Had bar seat the beer in house.
Lovely food, top service and great to chat to the chefs whilst they work. Been twice will be back again.
Service was not good enough standard for a Michelin star restaurant.
Extremely noisy due to a boys 21st birthday party, other diners could not hear the self talk and were asking to be moved elsewhere. The food was delicious, however expensive for what you received, portion sizes small.
2nd time here and food is fantastically tasty. The smaller dishes are great - the tortilla and braves are true taste sensations. The reason I’ve gone for 4 and not 5 stars is I feel £17 for a 2 by 2 inch piece of Hake with nothing with it is a bit of a joke - it’s a cheap fish and I could not say it tasted any better than what I’ve cooked up at home! A little quibble as otherwise it’s brilliant
Most of the Tapas were very good. The lamb was a bit lambie/gamie.
Great food, great atmosphere, charming staff, did I mention the utterly delicious food! Fight for a seat at the counter!!
Relaxed atmosphere, friendly knowledgeable waiting staff. Amazing tapas. This is my second visit in a month. Great for night out with friends or quiet lunch/dinner as a couple. Quite expensive but worth every penny.
Wow! My fiancé and I had such s great lunch here! We’re not from Bristol but had a couple hours, so logged into the OpenTable app and found this place. We sat at the kitchen counter and had the Chef’s menu with the Sherry tasting and were so impressed. The chefs answered all of our questions and told us about the area and the restaurants close by as well. I would definitely go back!
First visit. Hugely impressed. Wonderful variety of food. Fantastic service. Rill certainly recommend and return!!
Exceptional food. Great atmosphere and knowledgeable friendly staff. Will be return as soon as I can
Simple dishes with beautiful flavours! Definitely worth the visit.
Superbe little place with fabulous dishes, perfect for sharing on a date or with friends. Amazing service too; we were properly looked after throughout the evening. Would highly recommend.
Really fun dining experience if you're looking to do something special, but the biggest issue I had was that some of the food was incredibly salty. For example, I had to scrape off salt chunks from the bread to make it edible. Other dishes were seasoned better wrt salt. But, nothing really blew my mind, flavor-wise, or stood out as something I would need to come back for -- generally everything was very good. I'd been to Spain a few weeks ago and felt I had better food there, but to be fair, I also went to some really nice places there, too.
Fun atmosphere. I really enjoyed being able to see the chefs at work. I also enjoyed the heat from the fire in the kitchen, but if you don't like getting a little toasty then be sure to ask to be seated further away from the kitchen.
Truly amazing food
We went for the chef's taster menu with the sherry pairings. We were not disappointed, more than enough delicious food and sherry to leave feeling full and merry.
Staff were friendly and informative, showed great knowledge of the food and drink and of the local area.
First rate ingredients cooked with skill and care, plus great people
Great food and great service - as usual! Though a bit smokey so could do with better ventilation! A small niggle and would definitely visit again.
First impressions were poor as we felt under pressure to order when we were out for a relaxing celebration. The subsequent staff were great as they new the menu. The food was good but as I don’t tolerate since egg dishes easily a part of the menu was unsuitable. One dish was pretty undercooked for my liking. The fish dishes were particularly exquisite. So fresh and impeccably cooked. Dessert was minimal but tasted a ma zing. Would go again but only for a quick snack/drink.
Great place for a real, authentic, higher-end tapas dining experience. It’s expensive but, worth it; you’re unlikely to find anything similar with the same atmosphere and attention to detail. The place is small, vibrant and bustling. Be prepared to get quite hot and have a relatively noisy time!
When the bread course is memorable, you know you are in for a treat. Amazing food with fantastic attentive service. Highly recommend the chef's menu to sample a wide range of delicious dishes.
Brilliant, cosy, trendy, excellent service, lovely location and above all fabulous food 😀😀😀😀😀
Excellent as ever. Thoroughly recommend the chefs 7-course special!
Some disappointment of serving, missing order. But others was perfect 👍
Somewhat overpriced for the quantity of food being served. Drinks are also at the top end £10 for a G&T and £8-9 for a small glass of wine.
Food quality very good and some interesting tapas dishes. OK for a special occasion if you do not wish to stay too long on uncomfortable chairs.
Whilst the food and service was excellent, we felt very rushed. The food arrived without a break in between and as soon as coffee was served we are asked to vacate our table as the next patrons had arrived even though we had not been sitting at our table for 2 hours
If a tasting menu is being served and it takes over two hours then we should have been allocated the table for the correct amount of time
Great staff and great food just a shame that timings let it down.
The food was. Excellent especially ribs and hake in set menu
Simply the best tapas I have ever had. All the standard traditional dishes - tortilla, croquetas, pulpo a la gallega - were perfectly cooked, and the innovative dishes were a revelation. A special mention to a cauliflower “steak” with a cauliflower reduction and crispy chicken skin - a dish I will not forget.
Service was excellent, especially the fact that, when I phoned ahead and said we were both uncomfortable with wooden, backless stools, they found two comfortable high chairs from the restaurant for us.
Congratulations on retaining your Michelin star.
Pros: Great food, nice location and an enjoyable ambience. Chef's menu proved a good choice!
Cons: very, very smoky (due to the cooking) in the restaurant. Not sure what they can do about this, but stang the eyes for some of our group. One waiter was fantastic, however the rest seemed a little more ambivalent, which let it down slightly.
Overall - very enjoyable evening, far more relaxed than its sister restaurant, casamia (amazing, for different reasons). Woild go again.
Fantastic experience with exceptional food. Staff really knowledgeable about food provenance, a great deal of attention goes in to sourcing the right products to create delicious dishes.
Such a great place ! Staff go out of their way to help, provide information on dishes - explain how things are cooked and sourced! very impressive. Lovely atmosphere and sitting by the cooking station at the bar is the best place which they gave us when we turned up 30 mins earlier and our table was not ready! we had the best seats in the house. Waitress was very good and i think at some point every member of staff got involved with our food and its service. If i lived in Bristol i would probably eat here every night!!!
Great food and service - it’s not cheap but then good food isn’t.
It’s buzzy, welcoming and casual, small place - so if you want a quiet romantic meal this isn’t the place.
Overall we loved it.
Perfect. We've been 3 times and plan to go many more times in the future!
An amazing experience yet again at Paco Tapas, the staff are wonderful, very friendly and look as if they enjoy being there. Great funky tunes, the food was fantastic and the Quail Sobrassada with dates was out of this world delicious. Many thanks Rich & Maria
Brilliant food, brilliant service and a great evening. I can see why this restaurant is getting rave reviews. The taster menu is a must...
Stopped in for lunch. Got seating on the bar overlooking the kitchen. Best seats in the house, all the food we ordered was great, particularly the pork ribs and the quail. Would definitely return and think about the chefs menu.
Fantastic food and great people. Will definitely ask for the chef’s table next time.
Best food we remember eating for a long time . We sat at the chefs table / bar right by the kitchen. Amazing food and great atmosphere.
