Our ever changing menu combines traditional tapas with personal interpretations from Michelin starred Chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias, whilst staying true to the vibrant and comforting flavours of his heritage.
No tapas bar is worth its salt without a carefully crafted sherry list - just ask Paco! So, we've handpicked ours, and offer them by the glass, bottle or shaken into the finest cocktails.
Thanks to all our amazing suppliers & team we are realising another Sanchez Brothers dream - A modern tapas bar bringing a taste of Andalusia to Bristol. Whether you're coming para picar, for a glass of sherry or a tapas feast we can't wait to see you!
Brilliant night. Food was amazing the staff were so friendly and efficient we were not rushed even though it was busy. Would absolutely recommend to anyone!
Friday traffic led to half our party being late for our planned dinner. The staff at Pavo Tapas we’re not phased and looked after the other half in exemplary fashion with an excellent flow of delicious food, splendid wine and friendly chatter. When the full party arrived they were able to join in and catch up on a great night very quickly
Great atmosphere and delicious tapas
Food was amazing, great service always friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
An enjoyable evening and some memorable dishes but expensive overall. Lovely ambience and would return for a special evening.
I'd give a full 5 star if wasn't for the heavey charcoal smoke all around the places. Food and service are superb, maybe consider upgrading the ventilation a bit as well chaps? :)
Unbelieving under seasoned! over priced and over hyped. No atmosphere in the restaurant and seated next to an open drafty door. cannot believe how bland a majority of the food was. cannot understand all the hype. will not be returning
What a fantastic experience!! Amazing place!! Definitely worth a visit!!! Will be back soon!!!
Amazing as always. Staff very attentive, especially James. Great atmosphere and always a great social environment. Food was incredible.
Wonderful restaurant. Each plate tasted fantastic. Staff are so warm and friendly.
Best quality tapas I have had outside of Spain. So nice to have proper tortilla rather than a dry omelette !Fantastic range of sherries, and an interesting, eclectic wine list. Good range of prices for food and wines - you can spend a little... or a lot!
Food was absolutely sublime, but the portions were minuscule for the money eg £70 Chateaubriand was 6 slices of meat 5mm thick and circa 4cm x 3cm. Yes 5 “millimetres” thick!! In a restaurant where the food is sooo eye wateringly expensive EVERYTHING else is rubbish! The shared tables and uncomfortable bar stools, the small wine glasses (for VERY expensive wine!?!?), the service (everything came within a reasonable time EXCEPT the meats) which we had to chase up some 30 mins later to be told, “I’ll get them to put it on.” Put it on?? What only now?? Everything to accompany it would have been cold by the time it arrived if we hadn’t eaten it...because we were hungry! We had to order more otherwise it’s just meat on its own!?!? The quality of the food is fabulous, but still outrageously expensive and everything else is like a cheap nasty cafe...eg the napkins are tiny thin paper ones in a cheap square metal box on the table....the SAME as a cheap truck drivers cafe!! The napkins are BETTER in McDonalds!!!
In summary, the experience just doesn’t make any sense, it doesn’t add up. The quality of the food and the prices just don’t match the cheap, uncomfortable environment and whilst the service was very friendly the meat dishes arriving so massively out of kilter even ruined that.
Amazing food. Fantastic service. Quite simply stunning.
Relaxed and easygoing atmosphere with amazing food. Staff were very courteous, friendly and paid good attention to when our glasses needed filling or we were ready for the next course. We chose the chef's menu and every dish was a real treat - particularly loved the ribs and the quail; the octopus looked really good too. Normally I'm not too keen sitting in a bar stool, but we were sat by the open kitchen so it was interesting to watch the chefs prepare the food - and the extractor fans are very efficient so we didn't come home smelling of food! All in all a great experience.
Music was a little louder than I thought it was going to be but was turnt down a little later on. Food was great glad we choose the set menu. Just wasn't to sure on the desert but everything else was great and would recommend to anyone. Thank you
Fabulous food and wine, great service! We will be back.
Amazing night with family, menu modified to our needs... was perfect 10/10
Incredible food and top notch service in a relaxed atmosphere. Would highly recommend and will definitely return!
lovely food and great service but the fish and meat courses (even for a tapas menu) really not good value for money - tiny portions, relaxed mood overall
Simply superb. Truly fantastic food served in a relaxed setting, with incredibly attentive and knowledgeable service. Top drawer guys.
amazing food y outstanding service we will be back, you guys need aircon for the hot days though.
All dishes consist of the finest ingredients and cooked to perfection.
Service is very efficient but not intrusive.
Food and service were excellent but we were sat at the table right next to the toilet, the sliding door remained open a lot of the time and the hand dryer was louder than our conversation. It was also a shame that there wasn't a vegetarian tasting menu.
Some of the best food we’ve ever had, service was on point, location was lovely. Just perfect overall
Service was outstanding. Food was of excellent quality and drinks were delicious. Have been before and will be back. Would be back more regularly if it wasn’t so expensive - but a gorgeous treat. Thanks guys.
We had the most amazing evening at Paco Tapas, we sat in front of the chefs which was an amazing experience, it was hot next to the kitchen but we'll worth it to watch everybody's amazing food being cooked and presented to perfection. Service was faultless from every member of staff, we will definately be returning.
The dishes were very good - flavours, cooking and presentation. Good choice of dishes. The food was served in phases rather than everything arriving at once. The tables are rather small to accommodate the various plates being served.
Staff were really helpful and very friendly.
The food and wine are both on the pricey side.
Great varied dishes, all cooked perfectly. I’d recommend the hake, although the menu changes daily, so get it if you see it! Staff were excellent too, friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant smells brilliant, from the applewood charcoal grill. Wine menu is good, and sherry menu too.
I was not overly impressed. We had booked a table for 9:15 pm, but when we arrived, we were shown to a horrible corner at the bar. We ended up sitting outside, which was ok, but my goodness, those stools are uncomfortable for short people like me.
The food was very tasty, but £17.5 for Pulpo a la Gallega, which consisted of 10 slices of octopus leg (a thin octopus as well). Well, it is kind of expensive for what it is. We paid about £50 per person for dinner with one glass of wine for me and 2 glasses for my friend. So in total, several dishes and 3 glasses of wine = £100. That would have been ok if we had come out filling full and satisfied, but in fact, I was starving and ended up buying a packet of walnuts in Sainsbury's to keep me going till breakfast. :-)
As I say the food was good. Similar to Pizarro's or Barrachina, but the portions are simply too small. (Note: I am not a big eater, and certainly quite a small woman)
We were slightly late for our table due to weather but service was great and we whizzed through the tasting menu. Classic dishes done brilliantly x
Superb food, cooked beautifully and clearly high quality produce. Great chatting with the chefs at the pass and the waiting team were excellent. Enjoyed every moment! Would highly recommend!
The tapas were the best I’ve ever had matched with sherry’s to compliment them perfectly , the service was excellent and friendly would definitely go again
Fabulous... we loved it and will definitely be back!
Visiting Bristol for the weekend and wanted to find a special place for dinner. Wasn’t disappointed. Amazing food! Would highly recommend.
Quality ingredients, perfectly prepared and served with care and passion. The braised lettuce in the cream and garlic sauce was a particular highlight of our visit. Will definitely be back (again!)
Exceptional food. Exceptional service.
Awesome food and a lovely atmosphere. Every dish executed to perfection
Just perfect from start to finish! Ha e already recommended!
Lovely evening with great food, wine and service. It was great to be able to sit outside, although that became much more enjoyable when the loud, braying girl on the table next to us eventually left. I guess when it's over a certain price point and away from the hussle of the centre proper, it's hard to escape such characters...#cliftonites
The set chef's menu was fabulous and it was nice to be able to add things to it, which came out at an appropriate point according to what else was being served.
Thanks again for a wonderful evening, being given a stool with a back when I started to flag was especially thoughtful. You need more of them, sitting on stools all night is exhausting!
Probably the best tapas I've ever eaten. Everything was of the highest quality, relying on the best ingredients plus the chef's skill rather than trying to come up with an unnecessary new spin on the classics. The leeks with romesco sauce were a particular highlight, along with the bread and olive oil. I urgently need to find an opportunity to go back to enjoy the chef's menu, as we didn't have time for that on this occasion. Outstanding service from the charming Alex - thank you, Alex. I think I'd have found it too noisy inside, but sitting outside with the view across the water was perfect. Very highly recommended.
Couldn’t recommend this place more. Outstanding food, and lots of it if you’re going for the very reasonably priced Chef’s choice (tasting menu). Cool atmosphere and super friendly staff. Can’t wait to go again.
