the main thing letting it down was very slow service, when the staff came to the table they were very pleasant but everything took a long time coming even for a Wednesday night there seemed quite a few tables full, so is obviously popular, nice ambience, friendly staff good food just the speed let it down a bit. sorry.
Lovely ribs eye steaks, really friendly service, a great meal
Delicious food for a family birthday meal!
Great food with amazing flavours. We will come back again.
Amazing meal as always! This is by far our favorite restaurant in East Grinstead.
Excellent service great food. Would recommend to friends and family.
Took 45 minutes just to get drinks on our table then an hour later our mains came out before our starters so then had to wait even longer for our starters. Food was ok but service and organisation was terrible. Added 10% service charge to the bill and then asked on the card reader if you wanted to add tip on top of it. Very poor
Great food and great atmosphere. This restaurant is so right yet Hay & Straw is so wrong even though it’s same owners
I can heartily recommend the chateaubriand at 46 for two including veg and a wonderful peppercorn sauce. The wines are good quality and reasonable for the quality. Never managed to find room for a dessert but they do look good from what I have seen of other diners choices. Never had a bad meal here!
Always amazing! Lovely staff and delicious food and reasonably priced :)
Food usually good but poor tonight. Ordered chateaunriand which is usually fabulous and plentiful but tonight was bit chewy and not enough for 2 people. Very disappointed. Staff great as always but i tbink overpriced especially wine. Other options in town offer better value for money.
Food is just ok. Nothing special to remember. Very expensive for what it is.
Lovely food, ambience and value for money. A real credit to the hard work of the staff. Lacked a personal feel but given there is nothing in East Grinstead which is comparable, I would definitely visit again
Our son recommended this restaurant as he has been a few times with some friends. Very good service and food was nice too.
Lovely staff, food and atmosphere - highly recommended
Nice food along with good service. I do think that the starters are priced too high compared to the main meals and pizzas. Otherwise it was a nice evening all round and would return to this restaurant.
Food was not anywhere the quality we expected. The pizza could not be called a pizza, more like a pancake base, and the arancini were an absolute joke.
Great food and service, would recomend to anyone looking for good food and value for money.
Generous portion, friendly services and tasty food! Love the place and will go again!
I would recommend but they need to reconsider their Prosecco night offer.
I went with my partner and I had a pizza and he had dirty beef from the main menu. Now I understand that you get a bottomless Prosecco if you order from the main menu. My partner wanted to have a beer followed by a glass or two of red wine and I was happy with a Prosecco. We were told we can’t have the offer and I will have to pay for the Prosecco because I am not having the main. The fact is, they would have earned more money out of us by letting use the free Prosecco for me and my partner would have ordered beer and wine with his beef.
I think If you have offers on, make sure you don’t upset your customers by silly rules! It actually created the opposite effect and we did not enjoy the whole experience. Won’t be back for The bottomless Prosecco night!
Staff are lovely but would be great if the bottomless Prosecco is offered, then it is actually offered, not forgotten about!
Steaks lovely as usual. Very poor selection of starters, 2 to be precise, unless you count bread or olives. Nice atmosphere and good service
We went there on a day when there were just a few customers.
The attention we had from the pleasant waitress was excellent and nothing was too much bother.
I would advise any meat eater to try the menu. It is really good.
We do not frequent East Grinstead often but I would not hesitate to return to this place again.
Good luck to the company, you deserve it.
Service was poor and gave up trying to ask for condiments, none were offered and no dressing on my salad. Had to send the steak back as so undercooked and still very underdone. Ambience was good though ! I’d try it again as definitely had potential, just felt ignored.
This is our 5th visit to Paglia e Fieno and once again we weren't disappointed and had an excellent meal.
This restaurant doeskin fail to impress. Splendid meal.. keeps getting better!
The food was good. The service was very friendly but a little slow.
And im always happy to pay a tip but when a restaurant automatically adds a service change for a table of just 2 when they havent done much i am very offended. Probably wont go back.
always good food run by Italians. you can not go wrong.
Amazing food and service, we enjoyed our evening here and there was no rush to leave the table after we finished eating, we stayed on to have cocktails. Lovely atmosphere, we had a lovely evening.
The steak was delicious and perfectly cooked!
What a pleasant dining experience. Great service and great food and great atmosphere.
Lovely food. Plenty of food given.
Great atmosphere. Lovely cocktails
The food was absolutely delicious. It was home made, fresh and the portion sizes were perfect. Would thoroughly recommend.
Service was efficient, polite and friendly and the atmosphere was great. The food was excellent, particularly my husband's pulled beef. Would definitely recommend. We went on a Monday for his Birthday and the restaurant was really busy... says it all
Lovely restaurant with great food and cocktails we went early so was not busy but have been previously when full when it’s lively but adds to the fab atmosphere
Great food always aiming to please and let you have a good customer experience. It is very popular.
Visited saturday night and the place was full. With 4 of us on one of the tables in the passage way it was a tad cosy. I can see why all the staff are stick thin!
The food, sharing platter (rib of beef) and the sharing chateaux briand were fab. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. The noise level made it difficult to talk
Good food just thought the serving could be a little larger for the price that is charged.
Quite noisy, but good atmosphere, maybe not for a couple who want a quiet conversation.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food. I have recommended family and friends and will be coming back very soon.
First time eating here and we were very Impressed. Went for a family meal and plenty of options for the children. We had the Chateaubriand sharing steak off the specials which was cooked to perfection medium rare as we requested. The portions sizes were all generous and the waiting staff were on the ball and very helpful.
Brilliant food, brilliant staff, lovely wine. We could and will wile away many afternoons in this gem of a restaurant.
The staff were so so friendly. Food lovely and reasonable price. Truffle pizza is the best! X
