Palatino serves authentic Roman dishes with an A la carte menu offered alongside an all-day pasta menu. A 2 course presto menu is offered early weekdays and an express lunch menu is also available throughout the week.
Inattentive service throughout. I like to be offered a drink as soon as I sit down and while I’m looking through the menu as opposed to being sat down and waiting for 10 minutes till someone decides to come over and see you. Same with asking for the bill and paying the bill. No one scanning the tables for my needs.
Who could resist an all you can eat pasta Saturday lunch?! And no ordinary pasta, this is Palatino's exquisitely cooked offering. Four varieties from which to choose and proper sized portions too. Always leaving room for pudding we emerged into the wind and rain infinitely happier. This is what a neighborhood restaurant should be like...
Food is delicious and quite cheap considering the quality and chefs skills. Staff very lovely as well. Slightly put off by the location cause it’s basically the entrance of an office building but everything else makes up for this very minor pitfall :)
A Genuinely Excellent and Authentic Italian Dining Experience!
Concepts and Seasonings were Spot on.
Very Good Wine List.
Keep it up guys :-)
Always a pleasure to come back here !!!
Best Italian Food we've had in ages! Service was excellent too - right mixture of friendly and efficient without interrupting too much. Excellent advice re dishes and wine. Wish we'd been more hungry so we could have tried the pudding.
My favourite dish is served in this restaurant, I love to go there every so often to get my fix - the Tonnorelli (OK I can't spell) is amazing. Apparently they do all you can eat pasta brunch on Saturdays - must go and gorge myself on that ;-)
The first time we visited the food was amazing, this time it was just ok. Service was great though.
Have visited Palatino several times when it first opened and enjoyed its authentic Roman dining and modern setting. This time wasn’t as successful and I doubt that I will return. Our server was fantastic and very knowledgable on the menu which needs some explaining. However, the food was so salty it was difficult to eat. We managed, but we were so hungry by that time. Everything was salty, even the side of rocket. The waitress was fabulous and apologised and they gave us a small discount but someone needs to reign in the salt in the kitchen. Also the room was nearly empty and lacking in atmosphere and this was on a friday night. Sadly. I can’t see this place lasting much longer and I will miss the Cacio e pepe which this time as per the other dishes was very salty. It’s a shame.
traditional Roman dishes taste as they di in Rome.
Unfortunately the booking on / via OPEN TABLE was unable to be honoured. booked via the app and arrived promptly on time at the restaurant where the booking was not apparently in the system, we were informed that the kitchen was closed early (10:15) and as a result unable to honour the booking and we were turned away. Shame as the food here is really good normally....
Freshly prepared food . Great mix of seasonal dishes on menu as well as a few old favourites.
All the dishes up to the usual high standard and great service to make for a very enjoyable evening
It really is a shame because the pasta dishes were amazing. But the big restaurant lacks ambience it feels like a university common room.
The set menu cocktails were good, pasta was great. Service was fine but we couldn't help feeling unwelcome by the overly keen staff you come over just to take away one glass.
Starters were average, the pudding was unpleasant. I was very disappointed by the offering which I was hoping would be more homely as well the general atmosphere that had nothing of Italian hospitality we had been hoping for.
Great local restaurant for me, pasta is very good and is the service.
An overall fantastic experience. Great food and staff.
This is our neighbourhood favourite restaurant. Never been disappointed. Totally a thumbs up!!!
Very tasty food. Signature spaghetti was a highlight. Interesting environment and appreciated the privacy of the booths. Would highly recommend.
A nice place to get a good plate of Italian food before the theatre at the Barbican. Very friendly and helpful service.
We booked Palatino for a late lunch, a friends catch-up on the last Friday before Christmas.
The service was friendly and fun, and the dishes were excellent - every single diner commented on the quality of the food.
Rather mixed fortunes at Palatino this time. Good antipasti, very good pasta but a main course of goose leg was too salty and the accompanying red cabbage too liberally laced with vinegar. On balance still recommended but could do better.
Delicious. Christmas menu was a bit confusing but excellent value.
We had a nice night at Palatino but were really disappointed by the ricotta and mushroom ravioli, it was watery and tasteless, I hope this was just a dud!
Loved the starter (anchovy and stracciatella on toast - but thought that three small pieces wasn't much for 7 pounds). The cacio pepe and choc pistachio dessert were good too. We were also really excited to find Isole Olena on the wine list, however I thought it would be getting a bit old in the bottle after 3 years.
All in all, a nice night, but not sure if we'd return as the pasta just wasn't that amazing and quite expensive. When you compare to Padella or Bancone, unfortunately Palatino doesn't stand up.
Wonderful place- great food, so fresh and full of flavour.
We shared 2 primi’s and 2 secondes and they were all great. My personal favourite was the veal pasta.
Staff were lovely and went the extra mile to help make sure we had everything we needed.
Excellent cocktail and wine list too!
As always, an excellent experience. Outstandingly good food and I love the new menu options!
Generally good food, but lacking in any finesse.
Currently no offal on menu (this restaurant purports to specialise in Roman cuisine).
Bread sticks stale.
Reasonable food service and value, but plenty of better Italian restaurants in almost any part of London
Food was not great, I was even given the wrong icecream and had to inform the waiter, and was over priced
I'd heard great things about Palatino so was excited to visit but the food was just ok and the service was chaotic - telling us certain dishes were included on the set menu and then deciding they weren't + undercharging us and then having an argument in front of us about which server's fault it was. Atmosphere is also lacking - it looks like a WeWork space rather than a restaurant which might be great if it's full but not so when it's empty.
Absolutely without doubt one of the worst meals I have ever eaten in London. Dreadful dreadful food. Does this place have a chef ? I took guests and ordered the set menu. A very big mistake. The portions were embarrassingly minute and utterly tasteless. Went to Union St Cafe the next day on a set menu - similar price. Absolutely Superb! And real plates of food.
They are trying to serve Italian food, very far away.
Service is very basic, food could be better, there is effort, but nothing wow.
Lovely quick lunch - cool space, quite delicious Italian food and excellent value for money. Quite a neighbourhood find, good spot for working lunch in Clerkenwell
I live nearby and Palatino is becoming a go-to restaurant for a relaxed meal with friends.Really friendly staff and well cooked Roman food. It can be challenging for vegans but the kitchen is flexible enough to satisfy everyone. A great local restaurant.
Ambience is nice, but food is average. Some starters like bruschette are good.
The food and service were fantastic. One notable downside that hit us immediately upon entering was the strong smell of fish. This continued throughout the dinner. We suspect the open kitchen extractor was not working as well as it should. It's a shame because the decor and everything else was lovely.
Delicious food, very good value considering the quality, excellent wine, great service, pleasant decor, comfortable seating.
Very good, modern italian restaurant in my neighbourhood. Food is very good and unusual. Cocktails are excellent twists on italian classics. Staff are friendly and passionate about the food (rightly so). Love the cacio e pepe. Would be willing to return there daily just for another mouthful.
They didn’t have my reservation on arrival but luckily it was not busy and they seated us anyway. There was also an event going on for the business space in the building which made our dinner seem like a strange off-shoot of that.
The food is very good, the service is excellent, the price is a little excessive for what it is but worth a try.
The food was ok but much more expensive than it warranted, it had a lovely simple bent to it - eg mozzarella with orange, but the ingredients didn’t live up to it. Also we were unfortunate to be there when a couple with a child were very badly behaved (not the child’s fault but truly terrible, Mirhef shouting , child clinging to my chair and waiter as I ordered), and I was disappointed that no effort was made to protect our experience there but our specific waiter was very knowledgable and courteous. If you go get a booth, sitting in the middle of the room is a bit soulless.
Palatino is rated 4.4 stars by 46 OpenTable diners.
