Had dinner last night and was really disappointed menu choice is no longer great and the service was really bad. We were seated and asked if we wanted a drink with no drinks menu, then we had to wait to give our food orders and it wasn’t that busy. When we asked for the bill the server took the voucher we had and never came back with the bill, after 5 minutes we asked another server and the original one came back to say we had 40p left did we want to do anything we said no but still never got our bill. We used to eat her a lot but will not be hurrying back, they didn’t even have any weekend specials on. A really disappointing evening food was fine but overall experience not great.

Out with elderly parents for dinner last night. Ordered 2 x pints of Madri lager. Upon arrival we all toasted and took a sip of our drinks. Both pints of madri tasted of line clean solution ( i used to be a bar manager in my younger career). We got the waitress and advised of the situation and asked for Peroni instead. The starters had arrived and we still awaited our replacement dinks. We could see several members of bar staff trying the Madri and pulling wincing faces, obviously in agreement that it did not taste right. When we finally got our peroni it was also slightly not as it should be, but not as bad as the Madri. So we just drank it. Once the main courses arrived only 2 came, then another 2 plates went past our table to another, with the same server returning to the kitchen with only 1 plate. We then watched the kitchen screen as a disagreement between chefs and servers ensued. My parents were told by myself and partner to just go ahead and start their mains whilst we watched the kitchen scramble to put together the 2 x missing main dishes. Upon arrival 7 mins after my parents mains were brought , our food finally arrived with no offer of explanation or apology from the server. The food was nice large portions. However, for the remainder of last night once home myself and partner suffered prolonged upset stomach and frequent trips to the toilet....... the only common denominator being the lager which hadnt been properly cleared of line clean solution. Very disappointing quality of service regarding keeping customers informed, missing the basics of cleaning beer lines with clean water after using cleaning solution and running a few pints of spillage to ensure the product was served as intended. Doubt very much we will spend money here again considering how poor the experience was.

Average food at well above average prices. It's OK value if you go at family time but outside that it's expensive. Service was quite slow although when we were being served that staff were really nice and friendly. Just a shame the menu has been changed lately and prices have gone up. We used to really enjoy eating there but better value places nearby with just as good food. Don't think we will be back unfortunately.

The food was fine, the service a little slow but good - the restaurant was busy which explained the slowish service. The place is lovely, the staff are friendly and helpful and the layout is unique with the adjacent show jumping arena which the kids enjoyed exploring. My only gripe is our party arrived in two separate groups both of whom were kept waiting at the "please wait here to be seated" sign for several minutes, despite at least half a dozen staff seeing us waiting. I know the restaurant was busy but waiting when you have booked a table doesn't appeal. If we had not booked and were meeting family we might just have walked back out. Otherwise though a positive experience.

Second visit to Ingliston - and have to say that our first experience was better. For the most part the food was as expected except that one of our party found the pasta dish she had ordered was over-seasoned which badly affected her enjoyment of the dish. Otherwise, what we ordered was what we got and enjoyable as before. Drinks service was slow, and in one instance not what we had ordered (size-wise) and it didn't seem worth the wait to correct the waiter. On one occasion, we ordered a drink from a waiter and nothing ever arrived and we had to re-order, some time later, with a different staff member. The waiting staff who served our table were great - friendly and efficient. The venue was very busy - wedding and lots of people outside as the weather was good, so staff had plenty to occupy them and this may have caused the minor issues we experienced. We did point out the seasoning issue to the waiting staff who said they would 'pass it on'. The issues were not significant enough for us to say we won't return but they did affect our enjoyment of the night.

The main food presentation was below the restaurants usual standard. The steak used to be served on a wooden platter, on a bed of sautéd mushrooms, side salad and veg. The steak on this occasion was in a red plate, you had to pay extra for potatoes or fries, you have to pay extra for a sauce. Once you removed the fat from the steak it really wasn’t worth the money we paid. The steak pie looked smaller, even the pastry was flat. Normally the steak pie comes with health veg. This it is only came with peas. The tempura chicken as a main came with a large side salad, but we were told it only came with a small, so we ordered a side salad - waste of food and money and again had to pay extra for fries, which were less than a handful. We have been coming to this restaurant of over 15 years. Always had excellent service and especially food. Very disappointed with the standard of food and presentation.

Food was delicious! Service in summer months is poor due to prioritisation of outside guests over inside guests. I had to flag someone down to order 40 minutes after we sat down. Service in winter months is great. Service in summer seems to be prioritised to outside eaters and drinkers.

Meeting with friends we hadn’t seen for some time. Emily our waitress was lovely, helpful, polite and patient. One of us had Katsu curry which he said was delicious, the rest of us had pasta, one with a sauce and two with garlic prawns. All delicious. It was a good experience and would recommend Palominos restaurant. However the food was a tad pricey.
