Often come to The Pandora. Love the location, the view, the place itself, the food and the service. Great regular menu with lots of interesting specials. Each time I visit family in Cornwall we come at least twice!
Hi Chris, thanks for lovely great 5 star review! Great to here that you love everything about us. Come and dine with us again soon!
Pleasant relaxed atmosphere. Great history. Really good calves liver
Hi, and thanks for your 4 star review. We appreciate customer feedback so letting us know what we could do to earn 5 stars would be helpful.
Staff are friendly and helpful. The food is amazing and the portions are large.
Hi Diane, thanks for your great 5 star review! We really appreciate customer feedback. Come and dine with us again soon!
Excellent all round : we will return!
Great! Thanks for your 5 star rating, we look forward to welcoming you again soon.
It’s a beautiful spot and the crab sandwiches are hard to beat.
Hi Britta, thank you for your great 5 star review, it's much appreciated. Our crab sandwiches are always really popular!
Will return for the Cornfed Chicken Supreme for sure. Lovely warm friendly pub. Beautiful surroundings and so cosy inside. Romantic, family etc ... it has it all covered. Loved it.
We went for a Christmas party meal and it was excellent. The choice was varied and we were all able to have something that suited. It was booked in advance but obviously cooked on the night. It is the first time we have been but will certainly go again.
So different to the summer, when we usually go! Now, this time of year, especially pre Christmas, such a lovely atmosphere. Just like going back to a traditional country pub, cosy, warm and welcoming! Will become regulars to this wonderful pub! ❤️
Hi Colin, what a brilliant review, thank you! Yes, the Pandora is lovely throughout the year being blessed with a beautiful location and a wonderful old interior with real fires. We very much look forward to welcoming you on a regular basis.
There were 11 of us ranging from 11-75. I’m afraid no one enjoyed their meal. Service was ok. We were sat upstairs. It was freezing.
I’m afraid the food was awful. Halloumi salad...the tiniest cubes of raw halloumi. Paella off the specials was a glutinous congealed tasteless mess. Cheesey chips...fat chips with a half pound slab of cheese melted on top ..not grated ...not refined. To be honest even the chips were tasteless.
So disappointing as Pandora Inn had been recommended and it’s not the easiest to find on a cold October evening with friends who’d traveled over from st ives to join us!!
Having read the reviews I thought it was worth a visit for a friends get together. The staff were great and I imagine in the day the location would be amazing. Sadly the food was very disappointing.
Exceeded expectations. Great atmosphere. The food was excellent, main courses very tasty and some of the best chips I have ever experienced. Friendly staff and lovely location. We had a super evening and I would recommend this pub wholeheartedly!
A fabulous meal in a beautiful location. The lobster salad was superb and the service really friendly and efficient.
Lovely food & ambience upstairs in restraunt. Woukd book this again no quibble! Downstairs would have been far too noisey for one of our party( hearing issues) Very popular so booking a while ahead advised...
Food & service could not be faulted. Well done to all you lovely restraunt staff.👍
Lovey venue but the food did not suffer. Fish pie was brilliant. Kids menu was basic but good portions. The Toffee Eton Mess was to die for!
Have been visiting here for well over 25 years now and always love coming back. Great location and atmosphere with great food and friendly and efficient staff. Will be back again!
We never even got the meal!! We booked a week in advance for my Birthday. When we arrived the car park was full with people double parked. The road down to the restaurant is a single car country lane with passing places only. There was absolutely nowhere to go, we would have had to walk approx 2 miles!!! Rang the restaurant and they said there was nothing they could do! Disgusting. They should mention the parking on their site and Inform you when booking! Its ridiculous when you've pre booked a table and can't even park there!!
Fabulous setting, great food.
Staff and service first class.
4th time we have been.
When arriving at the Pandora Inn with our friends we were told there was no booking for us even though I had a confirmation email from OpenTable. The bar person said we were not the only people that had booked but they hadn't received the booking. This was very embarrassing for us. Once I showed the confirmation email they managed to find a table however it wasn't in the main restaurant which was a shame as we were seated in a small room on our own.
We were handed the specials menu to find 2 of the mains crossed out which at 7.30pm you don't expect. It would be better if these menus were not given out and the specials read out to you as most of our party would have liked the fish specials but they were not available.
We did have a nice evening as we were with friends but would have liked to be part of the main restaurant with the ambience of other diners.
Had a very good lunch my meal was great my husband wasn’t so impressed with his fish pie too much potato not enough fish and sauces but tasted ok. Love the location and atmosphere. Lovely staff to.
Can't beat the location. Beautiful building. Upstairs restaurant my preference but bar area lovely all the same. Staff all very friendly if a little ill informed of what's on the menu. Great evening had by all even the fussier amongst us.
A wonderful place, charming service. But just average pub grub, albeit displayed on a fancy menu. Probably still worth it for the awesome location.
On a warm summers evening, eating fresh seafood, whilst sat out on a table on the jetty. It was beautiful
Booked for my daughter's 18th bday and was let down from the minute we stepped through the door. No record of reservation shoved in a dark room with no atmosphere, think we were forgotten as had to ask for a waitress to come and take our order, waited an hour for starters, I sent mine back!!! Long wait for mains standard was poor the only positive was the waiter when we discussed our issues he tried to make our evening better and couldn't apologise enough, but mistakes had already happened and this was a birthday treat for my daughter. Very disappointed!
A beautiful old Inn next to the river - idyllic setting.
Last time we were here it was for the best Sunday lunch we'd had for a long time...
Sadly this time was just a week-day lunch and the main special let down what would otherwise have been a great time and good food.
Am scoring food and quality/value down because the Langoustine special was tiny and not up to usual standard here - over-cooked and very small portion and difficult to get any 'meat' out of the shell, so ended up sharing my very nice Scampi & Chips with my husband, who'd ordered the special.
Will definitely come back but will avoid specials next time round - the main menu is good and Sunday roasts very good, so maybe just a bad day in the kitchen with langoustines!
We fancied something a bit special and weren't dissapoineted. Between our Family of 4, we had mussels, the fish pie and a gluten free burger.
The food was lovely; all serverd hot and efficiently.
service was just right - not too rushed but not too slow either.
All in all best meal of the week (and we had some good ones !)
Warm and freindly. Very nice food.
Recommended.
Popular pub in a beautiful waterside location. Can be reached by road, on foot, or by dinghy. The building is charming and affords many places to have an intimate lunch or dinner as well as an incredible jetty with tables perfect for al fresco dining.
Food was the best we had in Cornwall this year and we only wished we had been able to get to the pub more frequently.
Parking is limited but it seems that a space always comes available just in time.
Beautiful estuary location. Nice pub atmospher. Good choice fixed menu plus specials. We had Pandora fish pie. Nicely presented, plenty of fish but rather bland.
Very tasty food, good service, can't wait to come back in the summer to sit out on the jetty!
Fantastic place to eat, very friendly staff, very lovely food. Definitely visit again!
Pleasant surroundings, beautiful Inn and a lovely atmosphere. Food was delicious and staff friendly, welcoming and attentive
Been here a few times for lunch - great food, lovely ambience with log fires, stunning location on the estuary!!
There was nothing to dislike. Friendly service, piping hot food , plenty of choice, roaring fire, tasteful Christmas decorations. Pandora Inn is a gem.
They did not recoginse or have the open table reservation.
This weekend our daughter was getting married, and where else to bring friends and family for a meal or two prior to the wedding but the Pandora. We had two wonderful evenings there, amazing food, lovely atmosphere and as ever will definitely come back again.
The Pandora Inn was a recommended must visit place to eat. We needed a dog friendly place, and was not disappointed, excellent food and staff. We ate late, so ate inside, really cosy. In the summer, with the outside jetty, this place just has to be visited. If your already in the area, definitely well worth a visit any time of year.
Enjoyed our meal and would love to come in the summer to sit on the pontoon.
Great place in a lovely setting. The team was really friendly.A very special old inn.Not many places like this .
Stunning location, even in the rain! Food lovely and good value. Service exceptional.
Lovely location on the waterfront with great views from the pontoon, where on a good day you can enjoy an alfresco lunch.
Food is good and the staff are friendly.
The bar is quirky and atmospheric
