consistently good whenever you come. one of the best Italian restaurants on the upper west side. always like the melanzane parmigiana and the cannolis. and a decent wine list by the glass and by the bottle although a bit pricey.

The service was very friendly and attentive and the food was authentic and tasted very good. We got the pappardelle pasta special for dessert we ordered the cheesecake and the apple tart. The apple tart was a lot for one person - I’d recommend sharing!

A wonderful place to have lunch on a Saturday at noon. We ordered cheese and meat plates to share, and paired it with glasses of Gavi — a really enjoyable lunch. Even better than the food was our server — she was terrific. We’ll be back.

Nightmare. We had a show at the Beacon. We arrived 2 hours in advance. Our entree came out an hour after we ordered. The shrimp was burned on top. Food was decent but not exceptional. We had to rush through dinner and did not have time for dessert. When we complained the owner took 10% off the food. Not exactly a grand gesture.
We ordered one wine that was in the menu and they gave us another, when we asked why they told us that one is the one they have for that price... obviously in the raitings it was a cheaper and worst wine
My daughter and I return to Pappardella each year for a great gluten free Italian meal. This year we brought friends and they loved it as much as we do. The service is outstanding and the food even better!
Pappardella is a Upper West Side neighborhood gem. Really good food, and wonderful staff. Recommend it for a date, or for business meal.
We attended for a birthday celebration, and were seated promptly at our reservation time. As it was a Sunday evening, the restaurant was busy, but not packed, so the noise level allowed for pleasant table conversation. The pasta dishes (pappardelle buttera, cappelini cacio e pepe) were nicely seasoned and flavorful, with rich (but not overly so) sauces. We shared a torta di cioccolato for dessert that was about as close as you could get to hot fudge without actually being liquid, served with a scoop of delicious hazlenut ice cream, although one of us that the accompanying caramel had maybe just hint of “burnt” flavor. All in all, a very nice dinner and a place we would definitely recommend to others.

I got together with High School friends and they loved the restaurant. I have eaten there three other times and I am always very happy with my meal and service.
The best thing about Pappardella, aside from that it's always excellent, is that it's CONSISTENTLY excellent. The food is tasty, the sangria (personal favorite) is delicious, but it's the service/personnel that makes it particularly enjoyable. They're attentive and polite and it makes the dining experience more pleasant.
They have an extensive menu, especially pasta dishes, and the food is always great. (Brunches are really nice, with the egg sandwich a favorite.)
If I had one "complaint," it's that I wish there were a couple more non-pasta dishes for those of us who are a little bit more low-carb. The Veal Scallopini was excellent; the Breaded Chicken could have used a little bit of a sauce; it was cooked perfectly but, by nature, was a little dry. (I did not ask for something special but I have no doubt they would have figured something out for me.)
Anyway, this is a great neighborhood place and I recommend it highly.

Fantastic meal once again. This place never disappoints for us. Yes we had reservations but that was it. We walked in,gave our names and were promptly seated. Waiter came right over, explained the specials and while we were debating the wine list a woman sommelier came over and guided us to the perfect wine for our meal. We started with carpaccio, went into the truffle and mushroom pasta and finished with the wild boar. Wow! Never had a bad meal or experience here. Our go to spot on the UWS for either Italian food but especially for fresh pasta dishes
I was happy that my dining requirements brought me back to the Upper West Side so that I could return to Pappardella after an absence of a couple of years. Fortunately it remains the same cozy place, excellent food, good service and excellent value.

Pappardella is one of the UWS’s greatest gems. Always delectable with impeccable service... It’s stood the test of time!
PS – If you’re gluten-free, run, don’t walk! So many options for a GF diet, and their GF garlic bread is absolutely delicious!
I really wanted to like this restaurant. The host was very nice and accommodating when we arrived early for our reservation. We were seated. Our waitress could not tell us what the specials were. Specials start at 5, and we were there a few minutes before. Perhaps I would’ve waited an extra 10 minutes to order if I knew what the specials were, but was not given that option. After taking our order, the waitress left. As in went home. Did not tell us she was leaving or introduce us to whomever would be serving us, and I do not think another waiter was assigned to our table. Our waters were never refilled until we were able to flag someone down. Our food took close to an hour to come out, so I guess it is a good thing I didn’t wait around for the specials, since we were seeing a show after dinner. No time for dessert. No one came to check on us to see if we were ok, or if we wanted anything else. The food was decent. My husband had the pappardelle buttera, which he enjoyed. My meal gnocchi pesto) was nothing special. And of course, the bill for one appetizer and two entrees should’ve left me feeling like I enjoyed my meal, which I did not. We will not be back.
Absolutely a good solid meal. Was going to the Beacon and it’s 2 blocks away. The food is really good, and the place is really nice. I would definitely go again.
Sadly, this restaurant is NOT FOR ME!!! The quality of the food was just not there. My entree came out COLD, and it was not a salad. In fact, it was roasted chicken, which at the first bite, I knew it was not edible. The cream of spinach looked like it was swimming in milk, and the pomodoro sauce really looked like a can of tomato sauce was just poured over the gnocchi's. The restaurant itself could use a little dusting and some updating as well.
Visited early evening with two five year olds after a museum visit. The restaurant was packed, but staff very helpful and patient, food delicious and great atmosphere. Grandchildren so impressed they enjoyed their food and behaved mostly like grown ups!
