Paradise by Way of Kensal Green
Built in 1892, Paradise by way of Kensal Green takes its name from a line in the G.K Chesterton poem, The Rolling English Road, which refers to the nearby Victorian Kensal Green cemetery. Comprising a front pub section, dining room, outside garden, a glass covered conservatory and two first floor private event spaces, this historic and beautiful corner site has an impressive food and drink offering, as well as a progressive music programme. The extensive international wine list and selection of crafted cocktails are the perfect starting point for an evening dancing the night away in one of the upstairs rooms.

Love the atmosphere, look and menu and am a regular guest at the Paradise. I love the Bar, restaurant and Club upstairs :)
Started off with A friendly waitress who told us our mIn courses would take around 30 mins and if we wanted to order some snacks in the meantime, so ordered bread and olives. These then took around 20 mins to come and without any olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette which we had asked for, to be later told that they didn’t have any balsamic (when we had finished the bread!). Table was uneven and had to ask again to get it fixed. Dinner took just under an hour to come. Lamb was okay but the spinach was way too salty. Waitress didn’t come to check if everything was okay, (which is wasn’t). Cod & mussels main was overcooked so friend sent it back and was told her dessert was on the house. When the bill came her dessert hadn’t been taken off so had to ask. Lovely ambience though, just a shame about the food and service.
Great restaurant, fantastic staff - as always. This restaurant is quite rightly an institution out west
Fish was excellent, panacotta with peaches was disappointing as peaches weren’t fresh (which we both hate) and so maybe better to use seasonal ingredients? Service generally lovely, we were left waiting for quite a while before being offered a glass of wine. Would be nice if bread was offered as part of dinner withough having to ask for it. Bill came to £100 (no starter) which seemed quite pricey. Nice ambience though!
Great place to eat and have fun.
I really enjoyed coming here!
We nipped in earlier than the original booking, and they were able to give us Bar seating.
The food was nice, and tasty. A good all round Sunday roast... which was needed!
The beef and lamb was more well done, than preferred medium. However didn't spoil the food.
Really nice atmosphere, great decor and the person serving us was super personable.
Best Sunday roast in the hood. A bit spendy, but worth it as an occasional treat rather than a regular event.
Took mum out for Sunday lunch
Mum had roast lamb rump I had roast pork belly
Both tasted fabulous Very well cooked excellent gravy on both of the roast nice Yorkshire pudding pizza mum had cinnamon Pana Cotta with peaches which was delightful
I had the chocolate delice with which was very rich and very very heavy it came with a coffee mouse (mouse was absolutely brilliant) and Blackcurrant compote which tasted like blackberry jam
Having been to Paradise bar before in a party of three where we tasted each other’s deserts I’ve tasted five deserts at Paradise bar and that was the only one I wouldn’t order again. So over all a nice meal, buzzing ambience friendly staff
Fantastic place for Sunday lunch or evenings in the week. Great food in superb surroundings
very good weekend vibe restaurant - however the club room upstairs attracts a completely different crowd.
Fab staff and service, the food was really great and the ambience perfect. Highly recommend!
We rocked up for a late lunch roast before going to the cinema. All food was available & the vibe was good. Service was lively & fast, food was great & we both ate every bit of our roasts, then shared probably the best sticky toffe pudding I have had....
Thanks Paradise, will definitely be back
We went for Sunday lunch recently and had some really great food – everything was delicious! The servers were very very busy but yet still attentive and good fun. We had a slight mixup with the bill but the manager sorted it out and overall we had a great time. Would recommend!
The food was good but the service was very chaotic and there were not enough highchairs. Also it is also a nightclub so you have to be prepared for a slight smell of chlorine when you walk through the door for daytime dining.
I love this place! The food is delicious and value for money and the service is always friendly and welcoming.
Lovely evening with delicious food and wine enjoyed with my family and dear friends.
Very friendly and attentive staff !
Loved the food decor and ambience . Will definitely be returning as value for money was certainly achieved
The best roast dinner, we drive from home and only eat our roast at The Paradise.
The staff are friendly and attentive, wonderful decor and the food never disappoints.
I was pleasantly surprised all round and was impressed with the venue and loved the food.
Food was amazing, service good. Little pricey but worth it.
Wonderful as always. Wondering what happened to the big angel in the bar area? Bring it back, please.
The atmosphere was excellent, the food was delicious, cocktails fantastic, 10/10 will recommend.
My only, and it is the only very minor complaint would be our waiter (we were in for 19:30 on a Saturday) did make us feel a little rushed and didn't seem to like us too much. We were there for my Mothers birthday for which she was very excited, when we arrived there were several tables free and none reserved and he preceded to seat us next to the toilets. I requested a table nearer the bar and we moved.
Also though i appreciate the desire to seat as many a possible across the night its not nice to feel your waiter hovering and asking repeatedly if we have made up our minds on courses or have finished our food when we are trying savour and enjoy.
Also if he was switched on could have got more out of us by paying more attention to our cocktails.
Great delicious Sunday roast, really enjoyed it, marred only by a party of parents with kids running around screaming. It's not usually like that so I would go back and hope for no screaming kids next time.
Great brunch, and Sunday link up with some friends.
Good Sunday lunch, service was a bit slow with drinks and they completely forgot one of the pudds but they were really friendly so we didn’t mind so much. The Sunday roasts we had were very tasty.
Paradise is a wonderful venue but was a bit disappointing. Food was fair (not great) but there was a long wait between starter and main but still when main arrived, we had to ask for cutlery. The rest of the downstairs restaurant was empty so staff not rushed unless involved upstairs. The loos were bad. Both had toilet roll holders hanging off the wall plus the loo seat was loose. Not a great impression. Sadly, as local, will not be rushing back.
Good food. Really slow service - we were left for ages before being asked if we wanted a drink and it was hard to get the staff’s attention even though it was nearly empty.
Love the food here. It’s not massively cheap but you definitely get good fine dining. Great atmosphere and dining room. Classy but informal. Love it. And the music and DJs after make it a great spot to spend the whole evening
Good food, good service, ok ish cocktails. Good night overall
Really nice evening, beautiful place and really good service. Thank you
Great food, fantastic ambience and soooo close to home! Love this place❤️
Booked Paradise for the first time for a birthday celebration, and was not disappointed!
Food was absolutely amazing - from nine of us, every single plate was cleared. Prices weren't too bad; more closely aligned to a gastropub than a restaurant of this calibre. Use the extra £ on transport, it's well worth it! Only slight downside was service at the beginning - our first drinks order arrived in dribs and drabs over a 20 minute period - however it did improve as the meal went on. I will definitely be back.
Fantastic time here. The host (i forget her name) was brilliant. The food was great, in particular, the grilled octopus.
Was slightly a bit to salty but tbf, i never add salt when I cook at home.
Fantastic food. Great ambiance. Bit on the pricey side but I would still highly recommend
Best spot in London and I've been around. A hidden gem worth going to
The food, venue and service was amazing, one of the best meals out I've had in a very long time. £75 for two people - we shared a starter, two mains and 3 drinks. Cant wait to come back.
Was a lovely Sunday dinner with all the trimmings never disappointed only the restaurant was very quiet as the football was on. Otherwise a wonderful way to end Sunday 👍🏾.
Great place to watch World Cup final, and then have a nice meal in the restaurant! Friendly ambience with good food and drink!
We where here 4 time befor and it was again lovley, very good food, great service and the place is just amazing!
Love this place - thank goodness the newish owners have kept the bar and dining room much as they were since the Paradise first opened in its current format in the 1980s. Wonderful decor, atmosphere and food.
