Park Chinois Ratings and Reviews
A chance visit to Park Chinois turned out to be one that will be remembered for a long while. I had read previous reviews about prices and stuffy service and was not put off. I have always followed my own instinct and, this time, I was more than rewarded. From the moment we arrived, the elegantly dressed team made us feel like VIPs. The menu and cocktail list kept us amused - too many choices - No problem, I am already planning my return visit. With this, we ordered a light starter, king crab soup, crispy shell crab followed by sea bass and vegetables. Dessert was out of this word and, yes, we had to indulge Lemon Meringue with gold leaf and a delightful vanilla cheese cake . We ended the evening with more cocktails and a smile. Don't ask me how much the bill was - as that would be rude. Go, enjoy and SPEND.. you won't regret it.
Excellent food and service in extremely luxurious "lounge" type setting. Live music is nice but too loud at times witnessed by people asking to be sat away from the band. The band are very good though - just needs a 20% volume reduction IMO.
Wine list big on French wines and very short on others. There are a lot of expensive wines (300 and up) but little choice in the 75 - 150 range.
Overall excellent however I hope they introduce some variety and better value in their wine list.
