Parker’s Tavern serves modern British comfort food sourced from field, fen and England’s seas.

Brilliant food, outstanding service and luxurious building and surroundings. Brilliant addition to Cambridge. Perfect for special occasions.
A stunning refurbishment to a historic property. The food, service and hospitality were outstanding. A must for anyone visiting Cambridge any time of the year
I took my mum for lunch it was very relaxing no rush just perfect
While the decor and ambience are great, and the staff very helpful, we were a little disappointed with our food. The meat in the bolognese had fat/gristle on it. The roasted summer vegetables were more like a side dish than a main. There was no protein included - maybe some roasted potatoes would have been nice to bulk it out a bit. The beetroot hache was Ok but overpriced for what it was. Again, some new potatoes or chips would have been nice with it. I guess this could have been a side order but it was not suggested by the waiter so we assumed that it would be enough on its own. I am not a big eater but had to order a dessert (which I very rarely do) because I was still hungry.
Visited Parkers on a short trip to Cambridge. Enjoyed excellent food, and the staff were friendly and attentive
Thought the food was extremely good. Particularly liked the desserts - my rice pudding soufflé and my son’s chocolate dessert were gorgeous. Would definitely come again. Perhaps next time I would ask for a table on the outside of the room rather than sit in the centre. One slight niggle was the service - it took us well over 10 mins to get drinks and water and when the waiter was asked if the pie was shortcrust, he said yes - it was puff pastry.
Lovely food. Not too expensive but special. Sweets need some better presentation.
We loved it all
Can’t recommend highly enough
Thank you !
Not very Happy ,my childs pasta was cold ,the steak was tender but did not come out hot ,it seemed more precooked then microwaved
Stunning building and interior design. A piece of Cambridge history beside the iconic Parker’s piece. The waiters in the bar really let this lovely place down. Very poor service which we had to ask for in the end. Very frustrating. However the bar was delightful and very comfortable. The restaurant was very smart and food excellent. Very good value. Please carry on training your staff so they can match the quality of this gorgeous building and decor. We will be back.
Booked a table for Sunday lunch, to be told they had run out roast dinners. Shame great atmosphere and venue but poor service and food portions tiny!
Excellent quality food at reasonable price.
You will not be disappointed, excellent food and decor and completely unstuffy.
We went for lunch, just to try it out. It is not easy to get into the building, but after you are in it is very calm and relaxed. There is a pleasant light filled lounge where one can wait for the rest of the party if one arrives first. Drinks are immediately offered. Then the dining room is also very light with good views over Parker's Piece. The food was good, although there was not much choice for my vegetarian (no fish) friend. The tempura courgettes were deilicious and my fish was beautifully cooked and well presented. Service is good. Staff are friendly and helpful without being patronising. We enjoyed their humour. All in all a good experience.
Good if meagre portions of food with excellent table service.Too expensive for the average town dweller?
I found a big bone in my main dish which was a braised lamb. I told the waiter to let the chef know. He said “I will”. And that was all. I could have choked right there. No one apologised. I thought it was extremely rude. The least you can do is apologise. I will never return or recommend it. In fact I will tell of my experience to all of my friends
Excellent service with an interesting menu, good wine choices, and the food was delicious. It is not inexpensive, but generally worth it. Nice view of Parker's piece in a charming décor.
Fantastic food, great service. Would go back tomorrow !
Held a business lunch there and the service from door to table and at the table was first class. The menu is varied yet concise. We both went for the pie of the day which was steak and kidney and they were beautiful.
£86 for two courses I felt was good value
A lovely new bar in the new part of the building and refurbished restaurant in the older part. Attentive service and interesting menu.
Beautiful building and interior, shame its was such poor service and the food was mediocre.
I had a quiet meal here, while visiting Cambridge just for one night. I had read an excellent review in the Times and my experience did not disappoint. The service in particular was exceptionally good, the staff kind and helpful. The actual room is a delight and the choice on the menu good. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and would definitely come again.
Lovely meal in a stunning refurbished long established hotel in the City of Cambridge
Service a little slow in The Library pre and post meal but Restaurant service excellent
Menu very extensive
Food was delicious and well presented
Ambience was vibrant
Will definately return!
Best place in Cambridge right now. Great atmosphere, service, and food. Also love the ice-cream and toppings menu.
Great starters, but 2 out of 3 main courses, having read very well on the menu were disappointingly bland and frankly not worth the money. Service was a bit haphazard and the restaurant didn’t seem to know where they are on the spectrum of brasserie/ gastro pub/ silver service; whatever.
We didn’t even bother with dessert- that doesn’t happen often!
The food was excellent, service attentive and discreet. Choice was very varied and was all fresh and top quality
Excellent staff - intelligently attentive, well spoken, well turned out. Good food - tandoori quail, sole with samphire, treacle tart with clotted cream that had been iced (rather than ice cream). Very good house claret, nice white burgundy. Very good location and highly convenient for those who need to use public transport.
Wine prices reasonable but food portions small, albeit delicious so poor value for food
Excellent food but portions no soo great
Superb service so didn’t mind the service charge but I don’t agree with it especially as we had a drink at the bar and was charged again
Best restaurant in Cambridge a real plus for Cambridge excellent staff
Booked this for our anniversary. Wished we hadn't bothered.
The service was awful, the main course was OK (taste wise) but the sides were cold and came separately as they had forgotten them!!
This place promised a lot due to a lot of publicity but it certainly needs a kick up the backside before we would go back again
We visited following a favourable Newspaper review and we were not disappointed. Staff were very friendly and chatty and offered a high level of service. Menu has plenty of choice and food is well presented and full of flavour . Not exactly fine dining but not far off at all. Highly recommend you book a table and enjoy the experience as we did.
We had a very late lunch. Staff friendly and attentive without being present. Food absolutely delicious. We have a tradition of starting lunch with a Bloody Mary. The Parkers Tavern version was A***.
The restaurant was quite empty (we sat down to eat at 3.30 so very between standard mean times) but we didn't find it was "dead".
Noticed there were a few reviews saying the restaurant was noisy. Didn't find it so however, can imagine if full it could err that way.
Looking forward to another visit.
From professionals greetings to little touches around the table, the service was excellent. Though one course of my guest's meal was only 'good', everything else food wise was really excellent. The devilled potted shrimp and spaghetti bolognaise, neither of them an oddity on other people's menus, were truly top notch. A great wine menu added to the enjoyment! I would prefer to see a draught beer available at the bar, but I guess that's not vital for others eating out in Cambridge.
Fantastic service and lovely cocktails!
We had a very enjoyable lunch with excellent service.
Our only comment was that the food (maybe the gravy) was very salty. A small thing but easy to correct.
Delicious food, great service and lovely atmosphere. Great addition to Cambridge food scene
Great value, service in the restuarant was excellent, we arrived early for a drink in the bar and it took a while to be served. Food was excellent and there was a real buzz. We were seated quite close to other tables but it didn't matter as the buzz of the venue meant it didn't feel like we were intruding on others conversations. Highly recommended.
Read a review and decided to try this new restaurant on a weekend in Cambridge staying in the University Arms where the restaurant occupies most of the ground floor
An interesting menu with good choices and wines attentive service and good ambience
Go and try for yourselves
Easy to make reservations
Food good but not outstanding
