The staff were friendly and very accommodating. But the food wasn’t great. Lucky the bread and butter was good. The started beef dripped toast was absolutely awful. The toast was just dripped in pure oil. Very greasy and oily, I picked the beef off and left the oil dipped toast. Been ill all nite from the starter I think. The Mains are very small portions and the sides came after we pretty much ate our mains. We won’t be coming here again

Have been to Parker’s Tavern twice previously and thought it was great. Was really looking forward to returning and the menu online looked lovely. We were very disappointed to find that since booking, they now only serve a 2 or 3 course lunch on Sunday. Staff were very dismissive about this. Winter truffle risotto to start was fabulous. I don’t mind salty food but the pork belly main was very salty. So much so that one of our party could not eat their pork. The fish of the day, cod, was lovely but not what we went for. 2 courses for £23 or 3 courses for £28 is good value for the quality of food. However, if we had known they only offered Sunday lunch we would not have bothered to make a special journey to Cambridge. Overall we left slightly disappointed on this occasion.

Food was excellent, particularly the venison. Service was shambolic; our waiter forgot to order our main courses!

Food was excellent and generally service was good but our waitress spent 20 minutes (at least) talking to one particular customer and we had to get the attention of others both to get coffee and the bill. If the restaurant was full the tables would be too close together. As it was we had an empty table beside us. Wine by the glass was expensive. The food made it for us and the general ambience was good.

Food was good and very well presented but service very slow. We were there for over 2.5 hours despite being only a table of 2. We did receive a discount when we complained about this. The decor was beautiful.

We went there for brunch at 10.15am. Food was good but:

We waited 15 minutes for our coffee to arrive.
A staff member swept the floor passed us while we were eating.
Tables and chairs were brought in to the dining area near us and two tables were set up ready for lunch. It would have been preferable to be seated elsewhere.
We asked for a second pot of coffee. On pouring out discovered that it was barely coloured. The waitress returned with another pot that was still very weak. We were offered alternatives but we declined.
There were no teaspoons with the cups and saucers.

On the positive side, the barman was delightful and very attentive.

First time we had visited. Went to have lunch to celebrate my birthday. Staff were very attentive but not over the top. Food was excellent. The extra dessert that was presented at the table turned out to be a plate with Happy Birthday written on it in chocolate and four chocolates to eat. A very nice surprise. We will be visiting again in a few weeks to have Sunday lunch with my son, daughter in law and granddaughter. A small celebration pre Christmas.

We enjoyed a fantastic evening for my wife's birthday. The service was polite, efficient and knowledgeable. We felt well looked after. The food arrived promptly, tasted great and looked great too! Of note was the presence of the head chef, he made a point to tour round tables and spent time talking to customers. If you get a chance to try their ice cream menu make the most of it! Great night, would return.

Stunning building and fabulous conversion, with smart, quirky bar and elegant dining room. On a Sunday evening, the menu was a reasonable fixed-price affair, with good choice for starters and mains (and deserts, but they weren't tried out). Food quality was high, with top-notch ingredients. Nice wine list, though prices were steep. Only problem was service. The waiting staff were really pleasant, but we were brought the wrong wine, had one wrong main course served, leaving other dishes to get a little cold while the error was rectified, and veg appeared late. Not really the slickness you'd expect in such a smart place. A good experience, though, overall.

We had cocktails at the bar before our meal but I must say the cocktails were very disappointing when one of our guest said to the waitress that the cocktail was not up to standard the reply was OK , the food was very good as was the service, on-paying the bill we were asked if everything was good we again referred to the cocktails and this was ignored.

This was a graduation celebration and Parker’s Tavern didn’t disappoint. We were fitted in earlier than our booking which was very helpful. There were six of us, including one vegetarian. The food was excellent, service was good and we had a very happy evening.

Fifth visit for breakfast as it is usually good value and it is a lovely venue to spend the morning visiting our daughter as we lke sitting in the bar area after we have finished. We arrive by 9.00 and leave around 12.00. The scrambled eggs were very sloppy and the sausages were undercooked. The service is variable as there are not enough waiting staff but we had a lovely waiter. Based on previous expeeiences I would recommend to a friend.

This is the fourth time I have visited Parkers Tavern, but first time for dinner. Previous visits for afternoon tea, breakfast and just drinks were all very enjoyable. Unfortunately last night's dinner was, therefore, an even bigger let down. Service was poor from the get-go, we waited a long time for our opening drink, the food was average at best, and value for money was very bad. I wouldn't recommend PT for dinner in the basis of this experience.

Interesting and tasty food (hen egg, suckling pig, chocolate sorbet,...) but some basics are disapppoiting: oversalted chips, average fish cake, duck and Guinea fowl with dates and peas, to sweet, too mush...
So hit and miss, depending on what you chose.
And at least 5 different waiters serving you in 1 hour "fast and furious" rather than "cool and customer friendly".

The staff were very obliging and attentive. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere relaxing. This was an anniversary meal, and we were very satisfied overall. As it was a special occasion we were happy to treat ourselves and our experience did not disappoint. perhaps it might be possible to offer slightly less expensive options for wine by the glass, but we would certainly recommend the restaurant to friends.

I enjoyed a leisurely breakfast in the large, comfortable bar area. Staff were friendly and efficient, and attentive without being intrusive. The English Breakfast tea served was a particular highlight both in terms of quality and quantity. For £20 per head the breakfast buffet included everything you'd expect as well as options from the continental breakfast menu. My only criticism is that some of the buffet breakfast options were lukewarm rather than hot.

Ate later - 9pm - oysters sold out.
Ordered wine - brought the wrong one.
Food OK - replacement risotto not bad.
Had the steak - cooked how I asked.
Bar and restaurant busy.
I would return.

We went for a wedding anniversary meal, having found recommendations online. On arrival we were impressed by the service and this continued throughout the meal. The food was of a high quality and we were particularly taken by the ice cream list and choice. To top it all, in the toilets rather than Muzak you could listen to Alan Bennet reading The Wind in The Willows.

Excellent starters, good main course, awful cheese (poor selection, overflavoured biscuits, this mad assumption that curried chutney goes with all cheeses, and won't kill whatever wine you're drinking). Staff an odd mix of formal and seeking something chummier. Thus waitress welcomed us and asked how we were (an empty question in the American 'hey guys' genre). We cheerily said fine, looking forward to dinner, to which her reply was "I'm fine, thanks for asking." Odd assumptions underlying that response about who is supposed to be taking an interest in whom. They need to decide whether we're in a formal environment or Pizza Express. The constant replacement, at I know not what cost, of bottles of sparkling mineral water was unasked for and unwelcome. As they whisked away the second empty and replaced it with a third we put a stop to this cycle: why not ask me what I want??

Excellent food. Considerate waiters were attentive but not overly bothersome. Noise level was quiet enough to have a decent conversation without straining your ears - unlike many restaurants these days.
Overall a very pleasant experience indeed.
