Welcome to Park’s Edge Bar & Kitchen, a modern British independent neighbourhood restaurant overlooking Herne Hill’s Brockwell Park.
We're not afraid to borrow from international cuisines, bringing new flavour twists to British classic and contemporary dishes. What’s not to love about our homemade Jamaican Smoked Herring 'Solomon Gundy' on roti or our Calypso Peppered Shrimp?
We support local and regional suppliers and work hard to pair dishes with our eclectic wine selection and craft beers.
Please call if the time you want is not available.
We look forward to welcoming you!

I had the smoked herrings with scrambled egg, it was so good and I felt so relaxed on a early Saturday afternoon, I had to drag myself away. It really is worth a visit.
I have been before and I will go again.
We had a great time dining at Park's Edge - the burger was delicious and the torched sea bass bursting with interesting flavours. The service was impeccable and the interior very interestingly designed. What made our dinner even more enjoyable was the lack of noisy loudspeakers blasting out music. The ambiance was pleasantly chatty and we were able to enjoy conversation as the music was unobtrusive. We shall look forward to returning again soon.
We went here for lunch for my Mums birthday - delicious food and wonderful people. Great cocktails too! 😊
Lovely dinner and great little restaurant. Service was really good and delicious English wine. Would recommend.
The food was absolutely delicious. The service was impeccable, I’m
Looking forward to coming back
The food was, on the whole, very good. (The torched sea bass was delicious.) But the service was unacceptably slow. We had booked for 8pm and arrived very shortly after 8. No trace of our food for over 1 hour. We were warned by the waitress that service would be slow - but 1 hour is far too long to wait (even when we were given complimentary olives after about 45 minutes.) We did not dare order a sweet having observed people at the next table apparently waiting for the best part of an hour after their main course before their sweets appeared.
Lovely restaurant/ bar, it’s a little gem. Small and intimate. The decor is beautiful done.
Services was great and will definitely go there again.
Both myself and my family enjoyed it very much.
Really good food, we had cote de boeuf which was cooked perfectly. Great friendly service too
Overall lovely with really good food and wine list . Two slight issues though: we were sat by the sliding doors at the front and our party were cold - and then a bit cold even in the middle of the room , where we were located. On a windy or cold day, there seems to be drafts everywhere, so not particularly comfortable for guests and be aware in winter. Personally I found the only veggie option on the menu (main course) to be a little boring / bland, but my wife (also a veggie) was very happy with it. A couple of veggie options might be better in the future, as there seems to be more and more of us now...?
Otherwise really lovely.
We decided to try this restaurant having seen good reviews. We visited for Sunday lunch which was probably a mistake as lots of children so rather noisy. Service was slow to start and we felt invisible. My friend tried to order a beer but her first choices from the short list were not available, even though the brewery for one of them is literally 2 minutes from the restaurant! I ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and was advised that that was the last available glass of that wine. The food was fine. They need to improve their ordering system for drinks supplies.
I have already recommended Park's Edge Bar & Kitchen to friends and family.
The front of house manager, was so attentative, we wanted for nothing (I think I am in love).
The food was fabulous too. The fusions of English and Caribbean worked so well.
Great food - very tasty and interesting. Lovely ambience
We had a great evening out
My wife and I had a great time at Park’s Edge. Attentive but not overbearing staff and excellent food. The complementary Prosecco when they found out it was our anniversary was an especially nice touch. We will definitely go again.
I booked well in advance for a Mother's Day special for the family and we were not disappointed. The starters were good especially the ham hock. The traditional roast mains were appreciated by all who had them . My husband chose the salmon and was very pleased with that. I was too full for dessert but everyone said that they were delicious.
However we all had a lovely meal. Would certainly go again!
What a little gem - amazing food and good value.
Friendly staff and great food!
Excellent food and service. We often try new restaurants and I might say this is one of the best that we have recently discovered in London!
Lovely food and ambience
I have eaten here many times and each time I go it gets better and better. Never a disappointment and they change there dishes from time to time so you always have a good choice of different dishes.
Well done Parks Edge!
This review is based on our last visit. The first two would have rated a four and five start. Really good! . But the last one was marked by a very poor menu with little choice. We opted for burgers..which already says a lot since burgers are fine for a 'café/restaurant', not a restaurant with excellent food ambitions. And even then the burgers were mediocre.
The lesson for prospective diners: see menu before you book. We should have done so. Incidentally, this was a Thursday and the restaurant was pretty empty. Perhaps knowing this the chef decided on a restricted menu?
To end on an upbeat note: our previous two experiences demonstrated that they can do much much better. Hope so. We need a really good restaurant in Herne Hill.
Amazing food as always. Had no idea it would be so busy on a Sunday at 12.30. Really wonderful local place. Well worth the visit.
We thought the service and ambience were excellent but the food slightly disappointing - not bad, but not as good as it might have been. Certainly no wow factor. Just slightly too expensive to go back to on a regular basis for the quality and variety we would like. Having said that the table service was excellent, friendly and attentive without being overbearing; that's worth a lot. On balance if we lived very close by we might use it more than we are likely to. So we would suggest close locals try it out a few times.
Delicious food and drinks and incredibly attentive staff
Food and atmosphere was great. Waitress was quite pushy to take our order at first but my friend and i just wanted a drink and to catch up, then she disappeared when we did want to order. Other than that, thought it was great, will be returning.
Delicious Vegan Wellington :) Best Sunday vegan roast!
We had a lovely meal and very attentive service. It was disappointing that the restaurant was not more full and I think that pricing is a little high which will put people off and a three course set menu deal will pull in the punters which is what is needed in my humble opinion!
This is without a doubt the best place to eat in south London. I took my neighbour for her birthday and they went above and beyond to make her day. If you do not go, you are missing out!
Really great food, superb, friendly waitress.
Superb service and ambience. Sensational roast dinner with sublime carrot puree !
I booked a table for 4 for lunch and had to give my credit card details which would have been charged with 10 GBP per head in case of a no show.
What I didn't know is that they don't do lunch but something like brunch just with a very limited menu.
There was just a very small menu with 3 main courses. All of us 4 went for a burger as there were no proper choices. The burger was ok, but not great and the meat was rather dry.
I don't quite get, where those raving reviews come from as the food we had was just average. The place was half empty. Even if this would be a brunch place the menu would be way too small. If I remember correctly there were less than 10 items on it incl. 2 cocktails.
This is our fourth time. Some dishes and service is good even very good. But sometimes they are not. Cocktails are always v good and the staff are friendly. But in the end consistency is a mark of a good restaurant. Hope it can achieve this.
Hello AJSHH, Thank you for taking the time to review. As General Manager, I'm glad you've had a good / v. good experience on previous visits but am disappointed that we disappointed you on your most recent. Would you be able to email or phone to discuss where we missed the mark on dishes / service this time? We aim to improve so want to understand what you weren't happy with. Please email info@parksedgebnk or call our GM - 020 8671 0306. Hope to fix and have you dine with us again soon. GM
Disappointing: one main dish was not available at 730, the one competent waitress left about 8, and the other didn’t get a grasp of the order, dropped cutlery and was quite clumsy. Men’s toilet was not clean
Had a lovely time with family age range 6 to 84, service ways way above and beyond the call of duty. The food was lovely and cocktails amazing. Will definitely be back.
Absolutely lovely venue, beautifully decorated and the food was exceptional. The service was a little slow at times with staff not always on the look out for customers trying to get their attention, but when they made it over they were so friendly that this was easy to forgive. Highly recommend for a Sunday roast, especially the vegetarian wellington which was sublime.
So good to find a restaurant of this quality in the area. Really recommend it!
Fantastic service and food. Highly recommended
Never a disappointment, always rewarding. Have visited this restaurant a few times and will continue to
5 of us went for lunch on a Sunday and had a fabulous time. The food was fantastic, even my foodie snob friend was impressed. From the moment we arrived and were greeted at the door service was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back.
We arrived quite late, about 9:20, but were looked after perfectly. The food was different and delicious. Very impressed as a place with a bit of originality.
They didn’t charge us for a bottle of wine, and wouldn’t respond when I contacted them to correct the error. So a very good value meal.
More needs to be done to promote the outstanding food and chefs at this restaurant. Meanwhile, there's room to improve the customer service especially the speed of serving drinks and recommending drinks.
