Super deluxe room was very comfortable. Dinner was delicious. We had the prime rib special and shared a lovely dessert called pavlova.Breakfast was not so good. My husband and I got the eggs Benedict which had a vinegar taste to it. Will definitely go back but order a different breakfast. Service was impeccable.
Excellent service, food, ambiance . Karen, our waitress was great.
My daughter and I had one of the best meals we have ever had on Wednesday. She had the prime rib, and I had the tenderloin. Both cuts of meat were cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes were delicious and buttery. The bread is excellent. The attention to detail was great - the bread had a bit of salt, the meat also was very lightly salted to bring out the flavor. Chef Kyle did a spectacular job with his attention to the details of cooking the meat so perfectly. We always dine at the Parlour Steakhouse when we are in Stratford. All of our meals have been good - but this one was amazing. For a terrific steak, this restaurant cannot be beat. By the way, the Pavlova is to die for!
My daughter and I enjoyed a delightful meal before heading to our Stratford Theatre performance. The facility is beautiful and full of traditional character. The service was attentive and friendly. The food was excellent.
Our general experience was good, ambience, food, etc. was all very nice. The only negative, the server was forgetful, the appetizer ordered, never arrived. The time we were there, was not their “busy” time, so it was surprising that even though we discussed the appetizer with the server, that she completely forgot.
I took my wife there for her birthday and her meal was awful. It was burnt to a crisp. We order salmon and even the salmon was burnt and dried out. The waitress took the meal away and said she would charge us for it. A pretty disappointing birthday.
Had a great lunch with friends before Little Shop of Horrors. Loved the ambiance.
This was my second visit to Parlour Steakhouse. As with my first visit, the food was delicious! Unfortunately, the service this time was not at all good!
Our waitress came to ask for our drink order before providing us with the drink menu, had to come back and confirm what my order was even though she wrote it down, completely missed putting my friend's order into the system so I was almost done my meal by the time her meal arrived yet they offered no discount or other compensation. Most restaurants would either not have charged for the meal, or not charged for dessert, or some other discount or compensation to make up for the long wait. We also had to ask for cutlery upon receiving our appetizers and again at dessert.
The service was very good on my 1st visit and the restaurant was busy, so will give them at least one more try and would still recommend. Perhaps our waitress was new or just having a bad day. However, if it happens again it may be my last visit.
Disappointed in the pavlova...not baked long enough and definitely not worth $13.
Duck breast was excellent. Burger good. Fries good.
The experience was underwhelming due to the long wait to get our dinner. If a small restaurant is having 2 large parties at the same time as your regular diners I think there should be adequate staff in the kitchen & dining room to accommodate both. This wasn’t the case . Although the waitress was apologetic the food was lukewarm but cooked to perfection. We appreciated the complimentary desserts which were delicious.
We are four friends who eat at the Parlour Steakhouse every time we visit Stratford. This visit, two of us had the duck breast, which was very tender. One of us enjoyed a shrimp alfredo dish. One of our group had a salmon dish with maple sauce. We always order the terrific Pavlova as our dessert. All of us agree we have never had any better. The Parlour is our favorite restaurant. We have, over the years, tried many others eateries and enjoyed them, but this one is the best for us. It has a homey feel and the staff is extremely efficient and friendly.
Sharon was our waitress and she did an excellent job! The food was great and even had your special Pavlova dessert for my birthday! A great dining experience!!
Food was delicious! The only problem we had was our server. Everything was great up until the end of our meal but then our server disappeared for 1/2 hour. We were going to have coffee and dessert but ran out of time. He apologized at the end when we were paying and said he had a large group he was serving at the same time which was the reason he’d disappeared. I’ve eaten here before and every time it’s been great so I think this was just an exception.
convenient to the Avon & Studio theater, great server, nice food
While the restaurant was busy the noise level was not overbearing. The service and the food were excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the Stratford area.
Very pleasant space for a meeting. I met with a colleague for lunch and we stayed about 2 hours. the server was very patient and did not try to rush us along. Food was tasty, good size servings, nice coffee afterwards.
Our second visit in 2 years. I cannot call the food and service 5* but I CAN and did call it 4* which I consider quite good for a in-the-inn restaurant. I would certainly go there if in Stratford for two or more days at any time in the future.
The steaks were tasty and cooked as ordered. We had hoped for a broader menu that would accommodate our food sensitivities.
Very busy at this restaurant and we offered to sit in lounge since tennis was on. Our server did a great job looking after us. Thank you.
While our waitress tried extremely hard and she was very nice, she was overworked. They need to staff up this place to provide better service. The food was average including the mixed vegetable,s some of which were not edible. If you are served a tough piece of meat (the duck), it should be offered with a knife that could actually cut into it. Disappointed. Much better options in Stratford.
Thank you, the food was good as always and the service was lovely. People who cared, plus they had a great sense of humour. I had company in from out of town and they enjoyed it very much. Thanks for a lovely lunch.
Great lunch. Especially enjoyed the Spicy Carrot Soup. The Pavalova was astonishing.
Delicious food, great service! We would return if we visit Stratford again.
Great food & service!
It's the perfect place before or after the festival show!
Wow! What a bomb show! Many issues with food and service. Don't even know where to begin and don't really have the time to share it all. Lets just say, DON'T order the lobster side with your steak and the service was more than lacking since we never had anyone come to the table to ask us how the food was, even though the lobster tail was sitting on the edge of the table as an indication for the server to come over and check. Server walked by three times without asking us how the meal was or ask why the lobster was not being eaten. Considering I used to be a server and was for many years, this is very upsetting and unacceptable service (especially considering the PRICE $$$).
We were there for our 5 year anniversary and left very unsatisfied and will probably never go back, even though we live in town.
It was our first time in this establishment. Our server was just polite, didn’t make any effort to make the evening memorable. The food was so so: my salmon filet was dry and bland, the appetizer (3 dips and chips) was greasy... The restaurant needs some TLC and dusting!
By the end of our dinner we were asked repeatedly if we were done and then out of nowhere the server pushed the bill on the table! We felt we had to leave and weren’t welcome any longer... Quite disappointing for a first experience at the Parlour Inn. We will likely not return.
The only disappointment was that we were celebrating a birthday and my husband informed the hostess and she acknowledged and said she would let the server know but nothing materialized. It was also mentioned when we booked online too
Dinner out on a quiet Monday evening. Service and food were great. Will definitely visit again.
We had 23 people in our group. We recommended the Parlour to all of them. We know of two who ate there.
Delicious, fresh dinners (Smoked Chicken & Salmon) from a hard working & friendly server.
Although the food was excellent ( prime rib and tenderloin), the noise level was very disturbing. A large table was seated next to our table, and it was impossible to hear my husband across the table. These people were obviously having a great time and enjoying themselves, but it was at the expense of all the rest of the diners. Several people mentioned this to the staff, but nothing was done to monitor the noise level.
We ordered two prime rib meals my husbands was prefect mine was cold I sent it back to be warmed up and it came back still cold totally put me off my supper
15 minutes for a waitress to take our order. Duck was over done and potatoes were cold not only once but the replacement as well. So cold the butter inside was still hard. Will never eat here again.
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinners, nice atmosphere great service
Hidden gem of a restaurant, and handicap accessible - bonus for our party. Food was great, nice wine list.
All five of us really enjoyed our dinners. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Tamara is a wonderful, professional server and covered every detail. Our friends from Winnipeg were very impressed with the whole experience
Love the Parlour!! Been going for years!! Great atmosphere and the Pavlova is Devine!!
Very friendly server and the atmosphere is really nice. I was a bit disappointed with the steak as it was a little over the medium rare I asked for and the presentation wasn't quite as nice as the other dishes we saw going out but obviously looks aren't everything. So the value wasn't as great as it could have been but it's a nice place.
The ambiance is old fashioned wood panelled steakhouse which was fine with us. The menu had a good selection of options, local and seasonal items and daily specials. Our steaks were delicious and perfectly cooked and the accompanying vegetables were fresh and not over cooked which is often the case in steakhouses. We were happy to see a few gluten free options on the dessert menu. Service was great - food was served in a timely manner, wait staff was very pleasant and it was an overall very good dining experience. The restaurant (and hotel) are only a few blocks from both the Avon and Studio theatres so is ideal for a pre-theatre dinner.
Loved the historic feel and the waiter was helpful and friendly. The Parlour Burger was the best burger I ever had! Highly recommend!
