Fab covered outside terrace, great atmosphere and delicious food. Good service. Certainly worth a visit.
Perfect oasis, felt peaceful and safe in these troubling times. Excellent service.
Lovely lunch in the beautiful intimate walled garden at the Old Parsonage, so nice to be back. Delicious food and helpful attentive staff.
Superb food, beaufiflly-served, with excellent and attentive staff. Great to be out andn eating again at this venue with it's superb air con, on a hot evening! Thank you everyone.
Dear Andrew, Thank you for your great review. I'm pleased to hear the service was attentive and the food was good too. Hope to see you again soon.
Very nice location, delicate taste, amazing lunch experience for the UK but staff wasn’t very smiling and friendly! They did the minimal effort, sadly.
Pleased to hear that you had a nice lunch and enjoyed your wedding anniversary. Sorry to hear that the team weren't their usual bubbly and friendly selves. Do visit again soon.
The outdoor garden was beautiful, very quiet and just the place for a summer evening. The food was good, a little pricy compared to other Oxford places but the dessert (peanut butter cheesecake and banana ice cream) alone was worth returning for!
Very good afternoon tea and excellent service. Nice atmosphere.
Dear Leslie, Thank you for leaving a lovely review about our afternoon tea. Hope to see you again soon.
The finest place in Oxford, coming back every time
Dear Nina, Thank you for your very kind review. I will pass this along to the team who will be delighted that their hard work has gone noticed. Hope to see you again soon.
Excellent menu. Very relaxed setting ,attentive and courteous service. Every staff from Maitre,d to reception desk couldn’t have been better.
In this day and age of sloppy service and haphazard dining quality the Old Parsonage Grill stands way above many similar standard establishments
Dear Helen, Thank you for your very kind feedback. I am so pleased to read such glowing feedback. Hope to see you again soon.
food needed more seasoning and staff were super polite but not chatty - perfectly pleasant though - a lovely treat!...
Dear Liz, Sorry to hear your food was under seasoned, I am pleased however to read that you had a good evening regardless. Hope to see you again soon.
Fantastic service although b'day treat arrived too late. Food quality not up to the price - very passable but not exceptional in any way so felt paying for the venue and not the cuisine
Dear Mark, Thank you for your feedback. I'll pass along your kind comments about service to the team who will be delighted to hear this. Sorry to hear your food on this occasion wasn't up to par, I will pass along this feedback. Hope that you'll give us another try soon.
Thank you for your kind review. Hope to see you again soon.
We had a super time at the Parsonage grill on Saturday afternoon.
The afternoon tea was excellent and catered for my allergy. The waitress was so helpful and gave us great service.
The restaurant was busy but quiet and everyone observed the Covid rules, so we felt safe.
All a very pleasant experience , I would definitely recommend a visit.
Dear Lizzy, Thank you for your lovely review. I'm so pleased to hear we could cater to your needs and that the waitress was so helpful. I'll pass along your kind words to the team who will all be delighted to hear them. See you again soon.
Everything was excellent except for the gentleman at a nearby table who shouted loudly most of the time. Otherwise, all was very good.
Dear Elizabeth, Pleased to hear you had an enjoyable experience. Sorry to hear about a noisy guest near to your table, I'm sure that it is a one off occurrence. Hope to see you again soon.
On a lovely summers day we ate in the walled courtyard. It is just off St Giles and considering how noisy the road can be, it was surprisingly quiet.
The service was excellent, not over the top, and the food to a very high standard. Its a special place to eat
Thank you for your kind review. I'm so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your time with us, and that you enjoyed the ambiance of our gorgeous terrace. Hope to see you again soon.
Afternoon tea was gorgeous but super expensive. Would come more often if 2/3 of the current price ie around £20 which is still expensive but doable.
Dear Emelle, Thank you for your kind review, I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed our afternoon tea. We are constantly reviewing our pricing and so your feedback is very welcome. Hope to see you again soon.
Food portions quite large and food good but nothing special. Prices high end and service not attentive- left a dirty glass table top between main course and pudding which I wiped myself. Lovely ambiance.
Dear Andrew, I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed the ambiance. Sorry to hear the service wasn't as attentive as you should expect. Our team don't 'crumb' tables as part of our normal service however had you asked I'm certain one of the team would have been more than happy to wipe the table down for you. Apologies and I hope you'll try us again soon.
I have not visited the hotel for about l5 years and was delighted that it was unchanged physically, but the food and service were much better. I thought it was delicious and very well organised in charming surroundings.
Dear Charlotte, Thank you for your kind review. I'll pass along your kind words to the team who will be delighted to hear them. Hope to see you again soon.
We asked for no onions or garlic, due food intolerance, the salmon came with an onion relish on the side. The waiter was very apologetic.
My wife had a very delicious cheese soufflé but the lettuce looked as if from a cheap bag and the leaves brown at the edges and past their best, so she didn’t eat that. My steak and chips and beetroot salad were good but considering my wife only had three starters we felt it was expensive and were disappointed. It ought to be possible to make a decent and fresh green salad.
Our waiter wasn’t wearing his mask correctly, only over his mouth. And we felt the COVID precautions weren’t adequate. Tables too close even with screens and people walking back and forth to the hotel rooms and loos right next to our table without masks. It was our first meal out in a year and our wedding anniversary so it was disappointing.
Dear Hugh, I'm very sorry to hear of your negative experience with us. We cater for all kinds of allergies and intolerances very well on a daily basis and I'm disappointed that we didn't get it right on this occasion. We have managed to put screens between nearly all of our tables indoors and where they aren't possible, we have ensured that guests are either side to side of back to back. I will again raise the importance of our COVID specific measures with the team to ensure best practice.
Fantastic afternoon tea on the beautiful terrace . The service was amazing, and the ambience and afternoon tea itself, was perfect
This was a birthday present for a friend and extra cakes came out to celebrate this occasion
I Will definitely go again, and would highly recommend The old parsonage
Dear Janet, I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed your time with us at the Parsonage Grill and we hope to welcome you back again soon.
Had a nice afternoon lunch at outside eating area. Very relaxed.
My fish was slightly over cooked and the service was a bit slow. Had to repeatedly ask for next course after our mains. There seemed to be only one waiter outside which might explain the slow service. But over all good experience..
Dear David, I'm pleased to hear that overall you had a positive experience during your visit. I am however dismayed that the service wasn't of the high quality you should expect to receive at the Parsonage. Please do email me at email@example.com so that I can look into this further.
Excellent food and good wine list at the higher end. Steak and lamb particularly good. Lovely spot with tasteful decor. Attentive staff. Will be going again.
Thank you for your great feedback. I'll pass along your kind comments to the kitchen team who will be delighted to hear them. See you again soon.
A really great meal, wonderful quality, chef was accommodating to our requests. Great selection of wine to accompany each course. A memorable experience for our anniversary
Dear Jenny, Thank you for choosing to spend your anniversary with us. I'm pleased it was a memorable time. Hope to see you again soon.
10/10 loved it, my phone was low on charge and I needed to get the train back, the staff were extremely helpful and the food was amazing!
Excellent food, wonderful wine and great service as always.
Thank you for your kind review. Hope to see you again soon.
We arrived for a late seating at 9:30pm so choose to eat inside. Tables were very close together! Definitely not socially distant. The waiter seated us very close to others seemly wanting to group all diners close together in a specific part of the restaurant as other seating areas were practically empty.
Nevertheless food was very good and flavoursome. Service could be improved... our glasses almost got knocked over by the waiter (due to seating being so cramped) and my cutlery was taken away after my starter and not replaced. No offer of condiments or salt or pepper ( had to ask each time)...perhaps the waiter was new!
Would go back (as food is faultless) but only during the day time when we can sit outside.
Price wise ....are similar to London prices!
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. Sorry to hear there were a few service mishaps but I'm very pleased to hear that the food made your overall experience a pleasant one! I'll pass this along to the kitchen team who will be delighted to hear this. Hope to see you again soon.
Lovely restaurant in the heart of the city. Great staff and a lovely setting. Very nice place for a family/friends or romantic meal.
Dear Sarah Thank you for your kind review. Hope to see you again soon.
Gournet food, lovely music, great ambiance, not cheap but worth the experience.
Thank you for your kind feedback. Please do visit again soon.
Good selection on a varied menu. Limited wine list. Good atmosphere and service.
Thank you for your kind review. I'll be sure to pass on your comments about the service you received to the team who will be delighted to hear it.
Freak ambience well worth it for that. Food was good although fish overcooked. Vegan option delicious. Good wine selection. I would return but not in a hurry.
Dear Charles, Sorry to hear your meal was sub par on this occasion. Please do email me at firstname.lastname@example.org so I can look into this further.
Pros: nice surroundings, decent value
Cons: understaffed, sandwiches are average, stuffy/old customers
Thank you for your kind review. Sorry to hear that your sandwiches weren't up to standard on this occasion. I do hope you'll try us again soon.
Maybe our 4th visit, always excellent.
Parking is tricky.
Thank you for your kind feedback. Please do visit again soon.
Such a beautiful restaurant. And the St. Gile’s church bells ring every Thursday evening from 7.30-9 so it was nice to have Oxford ringing in the background. The food was your quintessential British dinner, can’t say it did much for me but that’s probably because I prefer bigger flavours.
Afternoon tea was excellent.
Sandwiches, scones and selection of cakes were excellent.
A very enjoyable experience.
Dear Monica, So pleased to hear you enjoyed your afternoon tea experience at the parsonage grill. Please visit again soon.
The Parsonage Grill garden is such a wonderful place to eat, and the food is excellent.
Dear Juliet, Thank you so much for leaving us a lovely review. Please do visit again soon.
Lovely restaurant to meet with a friends after such a long lockdown
Really good experience from start to finish
I can't recommend enough.
The staff is really nice, and took into account the fact that we were celebrating a birthday. They did it with sobriety, in a classy way which was really appreciated.
They also gave us a superb table.
Food was excellent. The mains were fantastic.
Great atmosphere, great ambiance - we enjoyed the whole experience.
Took my Dad here for a very belated birthday lunch. We had a really delicious meal and the service was also very good. We both had the rib-eye steak for our main course which had an exquisite flavour and was cooked to perfection. The chips were excellent. My only regret was not being able to finish them all! I had the goats cheese soufflé to start with which was also excellent and my Dad had the crab which he really enjoyed. Sadly we didn’t quite have room for pudding but they looked wonderful. The only thing I would say is that as lovely as the wine was (Malbec) I’m not sure about value for money on this? All in all we had the perfect lunch in a beautiful setting which was well worth the wait-we were supposed to go last year! Will definitely return.
I and my friend had the most delicious savoury celebration tea. It was a great treat after over a year of lack of treats!
