    Friendly and helpful staff. We had a little wait for our food, but when it arrived it was all delicious! We were celebrating a birthday and received a couple of complimentary desserts which was a lovely touch!

    A lovely restaurant for a special occasion. The food and service were outstanding. Although nearly full, it wasn’t noisy and the ambience perfect. We were very well looked after and the chef adapted the menu for one of us with dietary requirements. One of the best meals we have had.

    A good restauant for food and ambience nearer to fine dining than much of what you find in central Oxford. The menu choice is not large but covers mosts tastes, eg meat, fish, vegetrarian, and the portions are of a reasobnable size. The ambience and decoration are pleasant, and the staff attentive. And a particular bonus is that it serves all day, so you can go for an early evening meal or a late lunch!

    Wonderful food, excellent service, and just-right Christmas decorations. We were given a quiet corner where the carpets meant conversation was easy to hear, and the whole restaurant had a cosy feel that was perfect for a chilly November lunchtime. A lovely birthday lunch!

    A lovely hotel , with open fires, oak beams and cosy bar and restaurant . Excellent food ( we had a slight problem with a soufflé which was swiftly and happily resolved) and a charming room. Service friendly and first class. Good parking ( a real bonus now in Oxford), and easy walking distance from the city centre and colleges. We’ll be going back.

    Lovely spot just a small walk from the city centre. Food is spot on and the service is exceptional. We were accommodated in the bar with a change time (as we brought the dog and needed an earlier time) at late notice and with no issue. Would definitely go back.

    The afternoon tea was served incomplete. Some items (e.g., clotted cream, jam) were missing and we had to chase the waiter to bring them. Tea was not served at the same time as sandwiches were brought, so I’m wondering how tricky it was to bring everything together to make the most of the experience. I certainly won’t come again for their afternoon tea.

    The table arrangements were not good. We were seated just 15 inches apart from the neighbouring tables on each side of us, which meant that my wife and I could hear every word of our neighbours' conversations and they ours. This is not what I expect from a high quality restaurant and I will not be back.

    After an amazing crab and prawn starter, I was really looking forward to my roast sirloin Sunday lunch. However, whilst it was delicious, it was cold. I don't mean luke warm, I mean cold. The table next to me complained that there food was also cold and were advised that there meals could be replaced, but it would take 10-15 minutes. That delay was not an option for my partner and I. Such a shame. Delicious food, fantastic staff and lovely venue, but the main part of the meal ruined.

    We stayed at the hotel and had diner here on the first evening. Good honoust food which they tend to serve rather quickly but they make No problem if you ask to wait in between courses. Staff is correct. Good price/quality.

    We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and wanted to go to somewhere special. The restaurant, and hotel, where we stayed the night, were recommended by a friend. The restaurant was lovely, with excellent food and friendly service. It's obviously popular with both locals and tourists. The hotel was also delightful.

    Exceptional ambience, service and choice of food, wine etc Main course(sirloin of beef) needed to be warmer. Yorkshire Pudding was almost burnt and very dry. However the Restaurant was very busy so if I visit again I will try to dine at a less hectic time of day.

    This was a fairly expensive meal for a special occasion but, to be honest, the food was pub standard. Very disappointing. My crème brûlée for dessert was boarding on being unpleasant. And not a great selection of wines by the glass. Felt a bit sick as we paid the bill which was double what we could have paid elsewhere for similar food. Would have had a better meal at Browns over the road. Service was very good and friendly and the atmosphere and surroundings were fantastic, which is why we booked in the first place.

    We come here every few months for a pre theatre supper and until now have never been disappointed, until yesterday. The service was intermittent, 3 requests and a 45 min wait to get a bottle of sparkling water, 3 pieces of off cuts of bread in the basket for a table of 6, very very aldente risotto which wasn’t pleasant to eat, chip portions which would have struggled to make a couple of mouthfuls and were rock hard … I could go on. Given 3 stars as the first disappointing meal/ experience we have had, otherwise would be 2 stars. Please bring the usual Parsonage Grill food and service back 🤞

    After a rather slow and not very welcoming arrival, on time, we were well served and the food was generally good. The price of the wines is however excessive: £145 for a bottle for which I had paid £92 earlier in the day in another good restaurant in Oxford.

    Stylish decor and a must if you regularly frequent Oxford. Lunch menu a little over-priced tbh, but the ambience makes up for that. Being the old trendy that I am, will definitely be back.

    Always a wonderful experience at the Old Parsonage. Incredible food - perhaps the best steak I’ve ever had - and the loveliest waitstaff.
