Smoked cod’s roe starter was creamy and delicious, and the marinated anchovies nice. We shared a piece of grilled turbot, excellent, so too the shared fish pie. A side order of broccoli had what I felt was an unnecessary amount of a sour lemony dressing.
A glass each of white wine worked well, especially the Cretan one which we preferred to an Italian. We shall have to return to sample the apple tarte fine, as we were too full, and come earlier in the evening before the specials have sold out. Very enjoyable, though quite cramped and noisy.
Had a stunning meal at this bijou fish restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful with wine recommendations and the food was so lovely. The potted shrimp croquettes were so full of lip smacking flavour, we wanted to order more as soon as we’d devoured the first three! The fish pie is also a stunner. Highly recommended.
Un fussy food and environment, excellent service and delicious fish
Delicious fresh fish . Side dishes - squid and stuffed cucumber were also excellent.
Amazing taste! Everything we tried was delicious!
Second delicious meal I have had at this restaurant
Lovely fresh seafood. More natural wines would be great.
Relaxed, delicious and delightful. Enjoyed sitting at the bar and watching the chef work. Went for a selection of starters to share and crisp white wine. Reasonable price and relaxed experience.
Fabulous Fish, lovely wine list, excellent & warm service.
Totally awesome as usual. Rock on.
Great fish and good service, at a price.
The food was really nice and creatively done. The staff were really friendly as well
Great restaurant - very intimate, good atmosphere and delicious food
Great food and service, just way too loud to make it an experience worth repeating unfortunately.
Superb as always with exceptional food and the most delightful staff anywhere.
Perfection. A really interesting fusion of Japanese and European fish cookery. This, for me, was better than J Sheekeys! Great for sharing plates. A very fun and relaxed atmosphere. If you love seafood, then get down there asap!
The food quality and the design of the dishes was amazing. Simple cooking techniques applied to fresh high quality ingredients created dish after dish of perfectly cooked and presented food.
The head chef has used a variety of herb combinations that accentuate the main ingredients giving you a range of flavours that are unique and exceptional.
The place to come for beautifully and simply prepared fish with complex and interesting sides. The clam chowder is a thing to behold - silky, smokey comforting perfection. charming lovely staff , excellent wine list set in a cosy restaurant you would have thought had been there forever.
This is a great fish restaurant. A good selection of fish that changes daily depending on what is available. The service was good and the staff very friendly. I would recommend booking if you want to be sure of a table. We went on a mid-week lunchtime and the place was buzzing!
Very cosy but very good. Great food and great service. Will definitely come back
Very high quality food , good selection of wines and attentive friendly staff . A tempting menu and we were tempted by the chowder and the fish pie . Both of very good quality . The atmosphere is relaxed , friendly . It is small and the tables very close together which can encourage chat with folk at the next table . Which it did .
Nice staff and quality food. Value of money
Use Open Table to booked for table for 2. Gets the smallest window seats while there are bigger tables around. 2 walk in customers got a table for 4. When the food comes, that’s not enough room for the side dishes as expected. The waiter told us to have the french fries after the main course. He can put them back to the kitchen. I nearly ask him to shore it up. The response is just unbelievable.
Food is forgettable compounded with service. Never again!
Very good seafood -super fresh-but cramped but good atmosphere and excellent Muscadet
Before coming to the restaurant with my missus, I hadn't eaten fish in (around) 8 years. My missus LOVES, and I mean LOVES seafood. We were sat down and looking around in the small but packed restaurant, we found the main menus not on our table, but on the walls. Every seafood dish is different every day, and all of their fish and seafood are freshly caught. The service was slow, but it was understandable, they were packed to tbe brim, even on a Wednesday night, and patience is key sometimes.
The wine selection was pretty basic but had some interesting choices, and was catered mostly to pair with a range of seafood.
We were served a Lemon Sole between two, which was absolutely divine. It was juicy, slowed right off the bone and the vegetables managed to soak up a lot of its slightly salty tang. The seaweed and cucumber was basic but a great pairing.
All in all, this was a great feast, and for the price of what we had which totalled to around £50, very cheap. The waitress was knowledgeable and took us through every step on the way.
Fab as always, a comforting fish pie on an autumnal day. Would have liked a bit more veg if I was being picky
The food at Parsons was amazing and the two servers were impeccable. I couldn't fault the place. The price was very reasonable for what we had and I will be returning very soon.
Always a very straightforward meal whether one course for lunch or three for a dinner (or vice versa). Always recommend to fish lovers as it’s so good. Hoping for skate wings this week 🤞
Cosy place with small tables so danger of feeling hemmed in. Food was good and service excellent with wine recommendations and a table in 10 cases arranged post dinner. noise level was high but that may be a one off due to a noisy table
Clever and perfectly executed small plates with a great wine selection alongside.
Me and my girlfriend loved this place! Food was just right amount and the best quality. Also There is no up charge for Glass of wine. It’s same value whether you order wine by glass or bottle!
Prawn croquettes has hardly any prawn flavour. Welsh rarebit was the worst I’ve had anywhere. Both the plaice and hake were overcooked. Fries (supposedly double cooked) were just brown and limp - replacement portion no better.
Maybe we visited when they were having a bad night but there are better fish restaurants around than this one.
Fantastic seafood and a great wine list (courtesy of 10 Cases across the road no doubt). Not the most comfortable restaurant ever as they've really crammed the tables in. When you're over 6 foot tall it feels like a challenge to squeeze into their seats, seriously I felt more cramped than I do flying economy. All said and done, I would probably go again as the quality of the dishes is superb.
The shrimp croquettes were pleasant but the chips were overly salted and oily. Plaice and halibut were ok. The bread and seaweed butter were superb but I had expected the other items to be more inspiring. It was to be our special London treat but it felt a bit ridiculous to be paying over £70 for this food.
Second visit so they must be doing something right! We tried a few dishes we wouldn't have normally ordered. The shrimp croquettes were delicious with a good peppery kick. The squid with black rice and cauliflower was delicately flavoured. The skate was beautifully cooked - a fish i'd never tried before but would definitely have again. The pork crepinettes had a lovely flavour but the pork was a little pink for my liking and I found the caul (I think it was caul) covering to be undercooked and chewy.
For me, the white wine wasn't sufficiently chilled but the smiley waitress was very happy to put the bottle on ice.
Delicious puddings too - the chocolate ice cream was almost like a mousse. We were looking forward to a nice coffee at the end of the meal but it was very weak and insipid. We would have been better skipping coffee. Overall another great experience and highly likely that we will return.
We had our wedding reception here with a few of our friends. Everything was outstanding. The food is always special and the waitress recommended some great dishes that we would not have normally tried. It’s our second time here and it really was just as great as the first.
Do you love Fish?
If you do visit The standard of skill demonstrated by the chefs is off the chart.
Each dish has massive taste, flavour and superb presentation
Service is friendly yet professional. I can’t imagine anyone could ever be disappointed here.
Great restaurant - sister to '10 Cases' across the road. Delicious fishy things. Creative and thoughtful treatments of wonderfully fresh ingredients. Fun service from competent and friendly waiting staff. An all round winner
Wonderful service - very helpful and chatty waitresses. Excellent really fresh fush
We went to Parsons in Covent Garden after reading a Giles Coren review in the Times. We really enjoyed out meal. It is an unusual restaurant, with high seating, regular tables, a window seating opening onto the street and tables outside (I guess for summer). So there is a lot of choice. Menu is written on the tiled wall with all fresh seafood dishes. I had the Vichyssoise soup which was creamy and delicious, followed by the clams in a wine/butter sauce. I got the Heritage Tomato salad with oyster mayo which was wonderful. The service was excellent and efficient and friendly, especially when explaining the slightly confusing menu. The food was fresh and very good, but don't expect to escape for less than £50 per head, which I suppose is standard in central London.
