Great service from the staff, one dish wasn't to my liking and they changed it for me without any hesitation. Very delicious and fresh. Will definitely visit a Pataca restaurant again, but perhaps stick to Soho at weekends as it has a bit more of a buzz.
We were the only people there, yet the service managed to be completely abysmal. The food was a major let down too, the ingredients weren't fresh. This is not the Patara from 2010 anymore.
I have to say I was extremely impressed the service was some of the best I have ever encountered super polite and welcoming we really felt looked after and catered for. The food itself was delicious we went for quite a few vegetarian dishes which were all scrumptious with generous portion sizes and we were able to take away what we couldn't finish which is always a bonus as I hate wastage. Will definitely come back and recommend
New staff but worse cuisine. We had a dish and the sauce smelled a bit weird (bad). The rest of the food was good, as it uses to be. For us the best asset of this restaurant has been always the high quality of its cuisine. Please, don't loose that.
Everything went very smoothly, we had the tasting menu, service was quick and the food very good.
Very good food. A little warm with the heat of the day but tasty again. We'll definitely be back again.
First visit to the restaurant (a couple of times for Patara restaurant group). Enjoyed 'Taste of Patara' including beer or glass of wine, combination of starers, main and dessert, which was great value at 29 pounds. Wine price was fair as well. Service was better than average. Overall very good.
Very sweet to bring amuse bouche but it was cold and stale. Service was excellent but too attentive, less interruptions would have been preferred. Rose was described as dry but was off dry. Apart from that the meal was great, particularly the beef cheek curry which was stunning.
Very good authentic food nice ambiance. Great service. Comfortable and pretty place to eat and chat with friends.
Patara is fine Thai cuisine and a lovely atmosphere. We were 6 friends and ordered the set seafood menu. It was quite a high price but the food was delicious. We all felt a bit overwhelmed with the amount of dishes, but all in all good choices. Sadly, the lobster dish was overcooked, but the sauce was lovely. Delightful service.
Friday night and empty. Soulless expensive experience. Not worth the effort.
Excellent food. Good service and a great looking place. Needed more people in to add some atmosphere though.
Good food with 50% discount on the majority of dishes which makes it good value as well
Impressive ambience, attentive and friendly service and our meals equalled anything in Bangkok. Pretty expensive a la carte though; will try the light lunches next time. They look very interesting.
Total cost £100 including service for 3 people with the 50% Opentable offer. For this, we had 2 courses (starter, main) and a drink each. Sides arent included in the offer but none of the dishes work on their own without a side, so we ordered a rice each and a vegetable side to share. So it wasnt exactly cheap - for the quality of food and experience, I would say it was worth the 50% off price but would definitely not be worth the much higher full price - that would be looking at £10 for a starter or £20 for a main course and the food is good but not THAT good.
We ate at 5:30pm on a weekday and the restaurant was mainly empty - they had 3+ waiting staff so that was good for us. We also wanted somewhere quiet to eat so that was good for us too.
The food was generally good but the beef had vegetables in them which were hard and bamboo like and hard to break down and the black cod that the other reviews seem to rate I thought was very ordinary tasting. the seafood curry I really loved but it was very spicy.
Portions were the right size - not overly big or small so we all ate our 2 courses with sides without being overly full or still hungry.
The decor is nice, modern and colourful but shame there is no natural light at all.
We arrived at :30 and had to leave for a train at 7:15 which as it turned out worked perfectly in terms of timing so its not instant service but quick enough.
Oh and they gave us a few prawn crackers and a lovely square of tofu each to keep us going until our starters arrived.
All in all, I would go again if in the area and in the mood for that kind of food but not so amazing that I would rush back tomorrow.
They couldnt have been more helpful to my wife who is a coeliac and needs Gluten Free options.
They also made her a cocktail which wasnt on the menu and have us a discount on the food thx to OT.
I had a first date at the restaurant. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was really nice. We both had a good time and enjoyed our time there. All in all it was a great evening
I booked this restaurant as I'd been to their Soho branch previously and the food was out of this world. Sadly the same cannot be said about my visit to Patara Barners Street. Everything was brilliant, except for the quality of the food - which was, at most, average. And while their 'offer' promised 50% off, it's only when you get there that you're told it's not on all the dishes, it's not on the sides, etc. Dinner for two (with no dessert and no coffee), coming in at £123 was a tad expensive. I really don't mind paying for good food - but this was even any where near good! As I said - service, ambience and friendly staff make up for it!
Really nice food and great service.
The food has gone down hill same as the staff who run the place. Awful value for money. Best to go to the one in Soho.
Delicious food and very generous portions, we had a wonderful birthday celebration here. The staff could not have been more welcoming, and even brought us a complementary little happy Birthday dessert. Definitely visiting again.
Well lit spacious location. We had a nice table and we're able to sit next to each other rather than across the table. Staff were attentive and offered to make suggestions which were excepted.
Had a really nice time, food was great, atmosphere was good and not too loud.
Would definitely go there again, you should go, if you like Thai you will enjoy it.
The wine prices were reasonable too
No ambience as the restaurant was pretty much empty at 6.30pm and very quiet (not even background music). The waiter although polite was constantly interrupting and cracking jokes which became irritating by the end of the meal. One of our friends asked for chilli sauce with the starters and mentioned she liked spice, which lead to them serving three extremely spicy green curries almost to the point where they were not edible.
We ordered the taste of Pastara menu and we were not disappointed. The lamb shanks were massive and the quality was excellent. I would definitely recommend. However i hear the Taste of Pastara menu is to end soon, so I'm not sure as to the rest of the menu as I haven't sampled it.
Great quality food nice decor its the best thai restaurant in London
Great food. Quiet but good ambience for conversation and catch up.
The meal is wonderful
Amazing food, ambience, staff. Quite pricey but with the special discount from opentable is an great value for money. Cocktails are very good. Presentation of the food is yummy :)
Our first time eating at this particular Patara, which is our favourite Thai in London.
It did not disappoint. It held its own and was a comparable experience to our meals at other Patara Restaurants...creative and tasty high quality Thai cuisine.
We went their for an anniversary meal and had the banquet and a very nice bottle of wine. It is a stylish restaurant with a nice atmosphere and ambiance. The service was excellent and the price reasonable. I'll be going again
Nice restaurant, great tasty food, and very attentive staff. A bit overpriced but definitely worth a visit
Very good food coupled with attentive service made this an excellent choice for a get together with friends.
I've been to the other Patara's many times and this was as good food wise but the service was really slow & disappointing. We waited 10mins at the bar before they took our coats & seated us then another 45mins after ordering before our starters arrived. The 25% opentable discount made up for it (though they didn't automatically add it to the bill and we had to ask) and the food was very good.
Worst meal I have had in London in a long time. God awful service. Average food. Horribly overpriced (£9.50 for a vegetable side dish!!).
Maybe we picked an off night?
We were hardly met with a smile when shown to our table. We then had to ask to order a drink and ask for food menus.
We did manage to get two drinks but after half an hour of being totally overlooked we left payment for our dues and left. No one even seemed to notive while we waited to collect out coats. Shame.
The food was exceptional, service very attentive. Both quality and quantity of the food was very good. The sea bass and the beef were exceptional. I had the fruit pancake desert which was very good and the selection of wines commendable. The restaurant exceeded my expectations, as it was my first time. Planning to return. Already recommended to others.
I have visited the Soho restaurant previously and would have gone again but they were fully booked.
I was delighted to find that the memu was the same so I could still orser my faves, but this restaurant had more of a modern ambience. The staff were delightful and, because they weren't as busy, we happily chatted for nearly 3 hours.
If you need a 'vibe' this restaurant probably won't provide it. If you bring your own party then they are happy to host
I'm definitely returning.
A quiet good thai across the road from Soho. Good food.
All very nice, very good food for the price - value deal here on TT. Would go again with partner. Service was a bit delayed (but I guess forgive that given that it was Christmas party season).
The service was poor and took a very long time to get food. Portions were small and a over priced.
