Patara - Oxford Circus
We had the early bird menu which had plenty of choice
I recommend the beige salad (very hot)
Calamari, noodles, sea bass, egg custard ice cream and guava and passion fruit sorbet
Very nice food. Enjoyed everything I tried. Would recommend, nice attentive service.
Lovely restaurant and great staff.Nice experience. Food was tasty and reasonable priced. Quick service at lunch for office workers.
Unfortunately the quality of the food at Patara has gone drastically downhill. It used to be one of our favourites but the meal we had there tonight was not good. We had the chicken and prawn satays to start with. They were served tepid and looked and tasted like they had been microwaved. It used to be freshly prepared and charred off the grill. I had the braised beef cheeks in red curry sauce but had to send this back as it was cold and the beef was not even mixed in with the sauce. Again, it seems reheated. The worst bit was the rice though. We ordered the sticky rice and it arrived inside a sealed plastic bag. I couldn’t believe that one. I showed it to the waiter and he just took it away and came back with the same rice in a different bowl (but still in the shape of the bag it came from). Not even an apology. I would not recommend Patara to anyone now. Embarrassingly awful.
The pre theatre menu was good value and the food was probably the best thai cuisine I have tried.
A good spot for an informal business meeting near Oxford Circus.
Extremely bad service, seemed like the waiters felt we were a 'burden' when we walked into the restaurant.
Food was extremely BELOW average, i had to ask for extra coconut milk on the side to be added to my Green Curry.
The 'special' Chor muang - Flower-like handcrafted caramelised chicken and peanut steamed
dumplings drizzled with coconut cream - were the WORST dumplings I have had in my life. They were cold from outside and inside, we had to ask for soya sauce atleast to 3 waiters and eventually got it after 15 mins when the dumplings were stone cold.
HORRIBLE experience, will NEVER go back again.
This was just ok. There are so many good restaurants in London and this one just didn’t stack up. Food came out cold. And is pricey for what we got.
Fine dining at a very reasonable price. I was very impressed with the presentation, taste, service, and value. Loved it.
We went to this restaurant as it might be the only one thai restaurant nearby my hotel. We didn't hope much on this restaurant for the taste as it's kind of too mild to be thai food. However, when we arrived at the restaurant, we were quite disappointed to the decoration of the restaurant. It's a bit too casual and doesn't look like thai restaurant in my mind. The service from staff is not professional as well. That staff kept talking and complaining the restaurant to us!
I do hope they can revamp the design, make a new taste to be real thai cuisine and last but not least, train all staff to be more professinal.
Great Service, Great Staff, Superb Food
Food and service are exceptional. The Manager is the most accommodating gentleman and I love eating here. Fish and vegetables are outstanding. Not a meat eater so cannot comment.
Good food , great vegetarian menu choice .
Excellent staff and service
Good food, very nicely cooked and spiced but a little pricey and rather cramped on the ground floor. Would happily go again
Food over priced, doesn’t taste as good as it sounds on the menu. Only a few items that tasted nice. GF item on the menu but not available on the day, limiting options for guest.
Excellent food as always. Lovely friendly staff. Had a long lunch with friends here on Saturday. Never rushed us out ! highly recommend this place...
This was the first time visiting Patara. The experience was amazing, staff were so friendly and helpful. I loved the food and presentation was impeccable. I would definitely recommend and can’t wait to return again. Thank you so much.
Good location and venue but the food wasn't the best Thai cuisine I've had
Nice food and very tasty. Had the set menu/banquet which is very nice but it isn’t cheap at £40 per head plus 12.5% service charge.
It was good food, although the calamari came out cold but as I was with a client, I didn't say anything. For the price it seemed a bit steep. Also, at the end of the meal, they came out with phones to review them on the spot. This seemed a bit bizarre and my client didn't like it at all which was a negative way to end our meeting.
Great place. Nice food. Best prawn pad Thai in my opinion.
Lovely set menu meal - good portions of high quality and tasty food
Very delicious food but quite expensive (I suppose you are in Mayfair).
They got us the wrong order, portion was smaller than usual and I found HAIR in the rice!!!!!!!!
Great. Being a place where the people working there enjoy theirself make the visit a suksess. The food being great is a bonus.
Always a great choice! Excellent food and service.
Brilliant food and great service. Patara is always on point!
The food as always excellent. The staff very polite trying to satisfy all customers.
Went there with my husband. Fantastic service and food.
Tasty food, nice atmosphere with great service. Little pricey though..
EXCELLENT LUNCH WITH A FRIEND. DELICIOUS FOOD AND QUIET ENOUGH TO TALK
Just off Regent Street, a high-quality Thai restaurant. Good all-rounder, but tightly-packed and all the hard surfaces make it noisy to an extent I found a bit unrelaxing.
Really lovely restaurant great service and fab food. Pictures online don’t do it justice would definitely recommend and will go again.
Lovely food. Been a few times before. And never been disappointed.
It was my patented birthday so the waiters sang a surprise happy birthday to him which was supper sweet
Amazing service. Provided me with a gluten free menu with plenty to choose from which was amazing.
Highly recommended if you like Thai food.
Great food, attentive service and a welcoming ambiance.
Good food, sevices was ok they could do better
Exquisite experience in Central London. We have been to Patara a few times now and the conclusion is clear - their consistency is outstanding. We have never been let down by any of the dishes we have ordered and this time was no different. The highlight of the valentine's special was the duck with curry sauce - the meat was so moist and was peeling off the bone almost on its own. I wish they would have worked a bit more with the dessert as it was quite starchy (due to the ingredients) so perhaps something lighter might have been better. Overall the conclusion is that you cannot go wrong here, perhaps with the exception of desserts.
Patara in Wimbledon village is one of my favourite restaurants. This Oxford Circus one is a disappointment.
Booked dinner for 6.30 to get the pre theatre menu but was refused because it stops at 6.30. Ok, but this could have been made clear when booking.
Service was poor - requests were ignored and had to be repeated.
Mixed platter was good for starter. My pad Thai was dry. Not great value for money.
At the end when paying the bill the waiter puts an iPad in our face and asks us to submit restaurant feedback there and then, while watching over our shoulders. We were a table of 6 all paying separately and had to ask him to take payment from one while another completed her review - such was his focus on the feedback form! Then he went round to get more of us to do it. Not want you want when trying to settle the bill quickly...
I did get a free dessert for my birthday, which was nice. But I’m pleased I didn’t have to pay for it. Lukewarm chocolate sponge with ice cream and defrosted fruit on the side for £8.50. Hmm..
Won’t be coming back in a hurry.
Overpriced food; very poor value. Starters were not fresh. Desserts were the worst - £10.95 for turned out to be sliced mangoes.
