I regularly eat here and it is always a great meal. It has everything: friendly staff, modern twists on traditional dishes, and a well thought out drinks offer. It's not the cheapest Thai you'll ever have, but it'll definitely be one of the best!
Nice thai restaurant. Excellent food. Great location.
Went to celebrate my friend's birthday and we opted for £40 set menu each, and for the amount of food we got, I felt it was poor value for money. Quality of food was excellent.
Absolutely top class- one of the best I've been to in central London!
I've been to Patara several times in the past and thoroughly enjoyed it but this time I felt it really wasn't that good. We opted for one of the set menus, all the starters were luke warm and apart from the Thai green curry (which was amazing) the other main courses were average. The dessert was far too sweet and tasted shop-bought. Portion sizes were also small. And then there was the blow of the bill which was just ridiculous; so over-priced. Overall I was disappointed - my expectations were high given the great meals I've had there before.
The food is Amazing A1 but losing the wow factor it used to have. Don’t become like a Busaba Thai.
We ate here before going to a gig at Palladium. Food is delicious and beautifully presented. We had curries for main which were on heaters to keep them warm, plus there were heated plates, so those were both nice touches. It is pretty pricey, but I guess that's a consequence of having such a great site beside Regent Street. Service was outstanding, with them even being considerate enough to let us leave a bag in cloakroom to collect later. Would recommend.
Was very noisy though, but server was very accommodating and moved our table of 5 to a quieter section of the restaurant
Food was delicious but a little too salty and sweet for me
Great food, easy atmosphere, professinal staff. Highly recommended for many occasions as well as simply just grab some nice thai food.
The menu on open table isn't the same as in the restaurant
Absolutely lovely food and service. Would love to go back again
Service was a little slow but overall very good.
A busy branch at weekends. Pleasant staff. High quality food though not always piping hot. Very expensive for what you get so not great value. Maybe that's just central London....
We had an excellent meal in Patara.
Maybe a bit more expensive than I thought it would be, but I can not complain about the food, wine, and service.
The service was rushed, not particularly friendly, we felt like they just wanted us out and we had to constantly get up and get the staff’s attention to place the food order and get the bill. The got the food order wrong for one person but in general the food is very tasty and nice! The restaurant was buzzing and the atmosphere was great! The cocktails literally tasted of juice and we asked if there was even any alcohol in them!! I would love to return for the food but not worth it given the service, very sorry.
Very disappointed. Very slow service to an extent that we had to keep calling someone to top our wine glasses. I would have been happy with thebottle on the table. At one point I got the attention of one of the waitress and since she was so busy talking to her felow colleague she decided to ignore me. Food was cold. I order Pad Thai for my mains and the noodles were all shaped to the dish. Awful. We ate the food as we had waited all day to enjoy this evening. Dessert well _ mine was tasteless. I ordered mango cheesecake and my husbands was edible. I had booked it as it was my husbands birthday. When we asked for the bill we once again had to waita long time for it to arrive but then they came back with the same dessert my husband had had with a candle on the deseet we ordered or bring a different desert. Then they said because we were lighting the candle bill took a long time to come. Hope thats ok. Well no its not ok. I wasted my money and I could have taken him elsewhere.
I was quite disappointed with the quality of the food. My food and starter were both cold and tasteless. However staff were both friendly and polite
Paragraph is a good Thai option although on the pricey side. A rowdy table did not enhance the atmosphere.
I used to come to this restaurant on a very regular basis and the Pad Thai with king prawns was my absolute favorite dish! It had been a very long time since my last visit and I was very excited to taste my favorite dish...what a disappointment....a bland dish (I had to ask for salt to get some taste) with 2 king prawns (it used to be 6) I guess inflation as been quite aggressive on the seafood front!
I had the Chilli Calamari for starter, a generous portion, but again lacking in flavor and ...they had run out of sweet sticky rice for the thai mango, so no dessert :(
Ambiance is always nice, service is friendly, but we had to strain to get attention.
I will have to be convinced to go back, a real letdown!
I great place just off Regents Street so good central West End location
We had a great early dinner at Patara on Saturday evening before going onto the Palladium. The drinks and starters arrived promptly but the main course was quite a wait and we all got a bit anxious clock watching, once the staff knew, they brought the food and we just made it. Food was delicious and staff very polite. If you're up against time, do make sure they know. The restaurant was very busy and a great atmosphere.
Always exceptional...never disappoints. Beautiful food and so fresh.
We’ve been coming here for years but it certainly has gone steadily downhill, the food was not up to scratch, we sent one dish back for the chef to taste - it was ghastly! It was so loud downstairs the waiter took our order wrong as he couldn’t hear. I will not be returning
Food was great, as per our prior visit. Service was superb, waiter (Napoleon) was friendly and efficient and the atmosphere was good. Will definitely look to visit again before too long!
Great food but absolutely terrible service, we were charged a bottle of wine even though we only had a glass. I love food at Patara but would not go back to the Oxford Circus branch and will tell all my friends not to.
Waiters were very friendly and polite. My friend forgot his shoppjng bag on his chair and our server ran after us on the street to return it.
Coconut beef was exactly what I wanted!
An ok Thai food place. Good food but be careful of where you sit! Sitting next to the windows upstairs is a very cold place and drafty! E has to move as I could feel the freezing breeze in my back. Another couple who sat there also asked to be moved.
I have no complaints about the food, the food was fantastic however the rest of the restaurant in our opinion, let the chef down. The atmosphere felt dead, we were left with dirty plates on our table for ages after eating, I had to ask a waiter to remove. I would definitely return to a Patara restaurant simply for the food, but I would dine at another location.
I go there quite regular and have taken friends. Always an enjoyable experience.
Despite booking well in advance they tried to put us in the 'dead' back corridor.
The service was verging on insolent. Shocking.
Not a patch on the other branch I visited.
Very lovely food and cocktails
Fürth time visit and tried a different dish (lemongrass sea bass) which was absolutely disgusting. I liked the usual dishes like beef and lamb shank, but unfortunate this fish dish had overthrown my previous good impression. Would not order this again
The staff were excellent and the menu choices were delicious.
The Thai fish cakes were yummy and a real stand out. I had the garlic king prawns which were delicious. However, the only negative was the dessert which included pandan sticky rice with mango which was disappointing. The service was fast and prompt.
Being a busy Friday night the noise level was quite high but the staff were lovely and helpful.
The food is authentic and absolutely amazing. Service was good but very different levels among staff. For example, we ask for a simple bowl of steamed rice (as we still had our curry) when the kitchen was already closed. One waiter said it wasn’t possible, the other one brought it to us right away!other than this the place is great!
