Patara - Soho
Shabby restaurant. Not fine dining. Low quality food. Terrible Service. Table booked at 8.30 pm. Food served 9.45. Overpriced. Never going there again.
Very good set menu options which beforehand i was unaware of. Great cocktails
Get the sea bass
I have been going to Patara Soho for several years but this the first time the service has been bad. Our food came very late which was very disappointing. I am not sure I will go again as there too many good restaurants in London to choose from
Really good food, very tasty. Waiter service was excellent. We just felt slightly rushed at the end as they needed the table back. Will definitely make it a regular!
We will be back! The staff were so lovely, from the manager to the waiters and hostess.
Food fresh, tasty and good value. The four of us had the pre theatre menu. The wine perfectly chilled. The ambience is calm and the lemongrass scent amazing. We shall try the al a carte menu next time.
We dine at Patara several times each year, every time we visit London. It was very surprising to be told certain menu items had run out, including Earl Grey tea. How can you run out of Earl Grey in a London restaurant?
Overall, we had another fantastic meal and will definitely return.
Me and my partner found the experience below average. We were waiting a very long time to be served and when we were eventually served, the waiter did not bring all our food. We were very disappointed with the whole experience and will not be going to this particular branch again.
Good food and service but found the final bill to be much higher than I would expect. We chose 3 dishes from the menu to share with no wine and paid well over the odds.
Best path thay out of Thailand
Don’t ask for the chicken satay, unfortunately was not very good
Service of all waitresses was great
The experience was great and the staff were excellent and really made the visit enjoyable. The food was also very good although a little on the expensive side but that is expected for city dining.
I would highly recommend a visit!
Amazing food, good service although the level of English spoken by some of the waiters and waitresses was very poor. The manager did a fantastic job of stepping in where her staff were not able to communicate with us effectively
The food is outstanding
We had the Patara banquet for our Valentine’s lunch. We had a booking at 3pm and were slightly surprised that the venue was pretty much empty even though we booked for a late time. The ambience therefore was a little staid but not the fault of the staff who were excellent. The mixed starters were pleasant rather than outstanding with the fish cakes the stand out. The three main dishes were very good which were a combination of fried fish, chicken green curry and beef & ginger. The desert was just ok. Overall, a nice Restraunt serving good food.
Everything was great but a little disappointed with the calamari... other then that - it was great!
Took a friend for a birthday dinner. Staff provided an excellent service. Were attentive but not intrusive. Food was very tasty also.
Visited for our daughters 16th Birthday. Unfortunately we got a table pretty near the door and got gusts of chilled wind every time someone came in. Food was good but not outstanding (try Oli's Thai in Oxford). Service was friendly but a bit slow lacking. Main course took ages to come by which time the plates that we were told were too hot to touch were stone cold in the 15 minutes or so it took. I asked for hot plates again but they returned just as cold. Ordered a beer which never arrived so after 20 minutes ordered again which took ages. The same with the bill, so after 15 minutes had to ask again. Have eaten here before and felt it was much better. Not a disaster but plenty of room for improvement.
Excellent food and unhurried service and pleasant atmosphere for a family reunion.
Excellent experience. Pay a premium but the food is excellent
Good food but the spring rolls were very oily. They also forgot to bring out the birthday dessert and i ended up having to ask 4 times. The surprise was ruined in the end. Very disappointed as I've been a few times and this hasn't happened before
Stylish calming decor, ambient lighting and relaxing atmosphere. Great selection of high quality dishes, good drinks menu and friendly, attentive service. One of my favourite Thai restaurants in London!
This is the second time we have been to Patara Soho. The food is very good and the staff are attentive without being overbearing.
I like Patara. Been there twice now albeit several months apart. Which is a good statement because this means consistency of food, service etc. I loved the beef in coconut as one of the main courses. You should definitely go for that.
Enjoyed a good meal here - our table had the veg and non-veg banquet, both of which went down well with their Viognier from Languedoc-Roussillon. An added bonus was that, although the booking indicated that our slot on Saturday night was for only two hours, we were left undisturbed for as long as we wanted (nearly 3.5 hours).
Not been to Patara for a couple of years, but it’s as good as I remember. Great food, great cocktails and lovely staff. Highly recommend
Good food and nice smart ambiance.
It is however a bit overpriced
Amazing food. The lamb massaman curry was out of this world - could get through the lamb with a spoon!
Been to this Patara so many times, but this time.....things were slow and our mains were delivered incorrectly! Not what you expect from a restaurant of this reputation - maybe just an off night?
Had the banquet menu. Good sel cation of dishes, all very nice. Would recommend
Patara was a surprise. We booked it for convenience to the theatre, but also the reviews which I can wholeheartedly confirm were correct.
The ambiance was relaxed, the staff attentive. The food was delicious. We had the duck spring roles for starters and the lamb massaman and green Thai chicken curry, both of which were perfect. We couldn’t manage a dessert??? Well okay, shared the cheesecake!! It was a lovely pre theatre treat and we will definitely return.
Service a bit confused. Food was good but nothing amazing. It is expensive but it is in the middle of SOHO
Perfect service & perfect food. We will be back !
Fabulous restaurant lovely decor very helpful staff. Food was superb, very well presented and very tasty. Only down side was the padded seat was very uncomfortable and dipped drastically so I had to change with my partner as I’d either have to sit on edge or be too far back from the table 😳
Seating and food were excellent. I found the atmosphere in the restaurant to be nice and chilled. The service was good and food presented in a very timely manner. Everything was very good but I gave 4 stars for a couple of reasons, it took a while between receiving the bill and actually paying, a small thing I know. Also, the sticky rice and mango desert wasn’t available on the day due to the mangos being too sour, which is a shame as this is one of my wife’s favorite deserts.
Once again food was beyond good
Great food served in a very relaxed, attractive and spacious atmosphere. The staff could not be more helpful and kind.
Had a lovely meal with my girlfriend for New Years. We arrived early but was greeted by very friendly staff. The waiting area was comfortable and we were reassured that our table would be ready soon. Once we sat down the staff took our drink orders quickly and remained patient while my girlfriend and I searched the menu. Food arrived in good time and tasted phenomenal. Overall, a really nice evening!
Highly recommended. As our theater show finished earlier than expected we turned up an hour early for our reservation on New Years Eve and the staff could not have been any more accommodating and fitted us in within ten minutes and even apologised for keeping us waiting !
Great selection of food and drink and all very reasonably priced for the location. Highly recommend the Spiced Fish Cake and Chicken and Prawn Satay starters - absolutely delicious!
For our main courses we had the Prawn Pineapple Curry and Chicken Panang Curry with Jasmine Rice. Again both were delicious with very large portion sizes and just the right amount of heat.
Not much room left for dessert but I managed to squeeze in a scoop of the Lime and Lemongrass Sorbet which was a nice refreshing way to finish the meal.
I was driving but my wife also recommends the Champagne Mojito Cocktail !
All the staff were friendly and just attentive enough which is how I like the service to be - we will definitely be returning.
We book a table at Patara Soho every time we are staying in London. We ate there more than a dozen times. However, we have not been so lucky this time as it was the case in the past. We got a table downstair even though the table has been booked far in advance. The atmosphere and layout downstair is not very nice compared to the ground floor. It was 8pm and the toilets were disgusting. I have never seen that. The male toilet was plugged with "everything" at the surface. Difficult to eat the meal after such a "picture". My daughter had tap water. They never came back to refill the glass. After less than one hour we were already out: no pleasure to stay there.
It was perfect dine out with sumptuous food . Fully enjoyed . Bit expensive but worth the price
Refined Thai food with excellent service. Opt for the menus if you can as the A La Carte prices are a little on the high side.
