Simply Devine. The food and service were one of the best I’ve received. I would 100% recommend and will return when I’m back in London
Worse than mediocre Thai food. Patara, years ago, was better. I will not return. I ordered soft shell crab salad which was heavily breaded and overly fried, so tasted only of grease and batter. There were about two lettuce leaves and 1 cabbage leaf... the rest of the “salad” was macerated aromatics which was too heavy and overwhelming. Horrible. My Pad Thai was stodgy and bland. The only thing I enjoyed was my Thai iced tea. So disappointing.
Food was amazing - service was not. Our server was rude from the outset - talk about someone with zero customer service skills whatsoever. Made us feel like our presence was a total inconvenience, snapped and barked at us all evening and practically rolled her eyes when we didn't order a second bottle of wine and more or less threw the check at us to kick us out at the end of the meal. Won't even get into how annoyed she was we dared order a dessert. Shame as the other servers were lovely. She almost ruined a nice meal with old friends from out of town who we only see once a year.
I didn't think the Loos were as clean as they could be.
the light above our table was broken and the service wasn't excellent as it has been in the past
Efficient and cheerful service
They had remembered what we ordered the time before
I strongly recommend
Lovely staff and good service. Food isn’t great. Tastes pre cooked and processed
It’s a lovely place, food is quite nice and the service is welcoming. The only recommendation I have is to re-fill glass of water when it’s empty as otherwise you’d have to ask for it. Maybe giving a jug of water would be easier. Also they didn’t have the dish I wanted to order but maybe because it was on Monday which is not a popular day of the week to dine out.
Quite pricey if you compare it with Busaba, most fishes are over £17 plus you need to order rice with pretty much any dish.
Amazing restaurnat. food great. service great and value great too. Definitely recommend
Great tasting food and casual atmosphere, a little pricey but otherwise great
Exquisite food with great presentation of meals. The service is impeccable.
A must-go if you love Thai food.
Delicious food, outstanding service very central location. Highly recommend
Unhappy waitress, not sure why!
Excellent as always. Recent refurbishment is beautiful.
Absolutely fantastic place to eat. We’ve been a few times now and always perfect. Favourite food, favourite restaurant
Attentive staff and held our reserved table. Birthday dessert as requested.
We enjoyed our dinner at Patara, the food was quite good. Yum pad Thai. Green curry wasn’t very spicy considering it had a two chilli rating on the menu, I think it needed a little more kick. The wine list was very expensive so we didn’t get drinks. Nice ambience with table by the window.
Spending a day up in London I was looking for a nice thai restaurant to take my girlfriend to. We booked an early table but were stuck in a small corner with two tables where there should have been one. I spent my whole meal being nudged from the table behind me. Never good for a relaxing meal.
The quality of the food was good but the service was slow and our main courses turned up 5 minutes apart. The restaurant seemed more keen to serve the countless deliveroo drivers queuing up at the door.
The food was overpriced given the environment.
My advice would be stay at home and order a take away.
Second time here and once again had a very good meal and attentive great service. We couldn't get into the Knightsbridge location but had no problem getting a table here on Saturday night.
We've been going to this restaurant for years. More recently we've noticed a general reduction in the quality of their food. Is it because the kitchen is also under pressure to not only serve the restaurant orders but also the line of delivery people picking up orders. Patara has always been our first choice Thai however after our meal on Friday I have serious reservations about returning.
Do not order the Beef Salad if you are expecting a traditional Thai beef salad!! I ordered this and received a salad that I'm sure McDonalds would've been embarrassed to serve. If what I received was what you regularly serve your customers you should be ashamed. £17.50 for a few tiny pieces of beef, a few cherry tomatoes and unappealing iceberg lettuce was disgraceful.
Love dining there.
Delicious Thai food and lunchtime menu is good value for money.
Very attentive staff. Wonderful food and wine. A real treat.
We chose the Patara banquet just for the sake of simplicity which was a good move as it was excellent with 4 starters and 4 generously sized mains. A choice of desserts would have been nice, to round things off. Pleasant, efficient staff. Would go again
Very nice place with great food...service was very quick too
Excellent food and service. Made my special birthday celebration evenmore special.
The food cannot be faulted - tasty and fresh.
The restaurant was very busy with deliveroo orders - bags stacked at the front desk and delivery guys coming in and out constantly. This distracted from the dinner and lowered the tone, slightly. The staff were really busy with deliveroo bags and sadly that seemed to take their attention away from the tables in the restaurant. The service was very poor, especially considering the price points of the dishes - you would except at least adequate service.
We had to ask for menus, get the waitor's attention to even place our order, repeatedly ask for more water. When the main meal was finished, we waited 20 minutes for the table to be cleared until I really lost patience and had to ask them to clear the table and ask them for dessert menus.
There did not seem to be a manager there to delegate - all the staff were dealing with deliveroo it seemed.
Really disappointing and I would not return to this location again. Hopefully they can begin to figure out how to manage their delivery business before losing their eat-in customers.
Very disappointing... we've been here a few times, but it just feels like their delivery business is more important now. Got our order wrong twice and their signature dish was not up to their normal standard. We won't be going back.
I am a longstanding customer of the various Patara Thai restaurants for many years. The service on this night was poor ~ the restaurant was only half full at best and the staff were just not aware of what was going on with the exception of the high amount of deliveries that were taking place. The food although good was not as Good as it normally is. I’ll of course go again but it was a shame.
A MUST VISIT! If you like Thai food I 100% recommend this place. Having visited Thailand my self I often find it hard to get just as good food in the UK as I did out there. The food was phenomenal, beautiful presented, unbelievably tasty, super authentic and will most certainly return when visiting London again. The staff were pleasant and the atmosphere was lovely, even though we where there with a few others due to the late dining times. The Thai pins was also a great cocktail, a wonderful twist on a classic drink.
The only slightly negative comment I will make is that we booked our table for 10:30, as allowed by the restaurant due to seeing a show before hand. When we got there we were told we had 5 mins to order our food due to kitchen closure and were hurried along by staff. If your going to allow a booking for that time you MUST allow suffient time to brows the menu as there’s lots of wonderful choices on there.
Just make sure you book earlier so you have plenty of time to decide.
Having said that I couldn’t fault the restaurant for anything else, I can’t wait to return and recommend it to all my friends
Thank you for a wonderful visit
Good food and good service. Would benefit from having cold glasses to serve beers. A little expensive overall.
Very welcoming and friendly staff. Cosy table. Fast service.
Not as good as it used to be. Had to wait a bit too long for wine and water. Although indicating a birthday celebration on Open Table we got the worst table in the restaurant - by the entry door.
Service was very poor, we were waiting over 20 minutes for the server to take our initial drink order.
Will not go back
Extremely disappointed with the food. Made me feel a bit sick and not worth the money.
LOVED the food. Probably one of the best Asian food I've had in London. Also, if you are there, don't leave without trying one of their desserts.
Staff seem very unattentive when u walk in on a budy night...no
We celebrate birthday great service and food
Great food and friendly service!
Food was excellent, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff
