great food very personable service! Manjeet and his team were fab!
Amazing food, management were very friendly we even managed three courses!
Very nice food, high quality and authentic flavours. Service is great too. Its a small size so some tables are very close to each other but not a major issue for me. Food prices are reasonable. Would recommend.
I've been a couple of times now. The food is amazing. The service is wonderful. The menu is at first tricky to navigate the staff were very helpful and it was fun to discover different dishes.
Great food, reasonably priced and excellent staff!
Delicious food, just a shame 1/4 was off the menu as me yes we’re changing over. Will be back soon to try more
A very different Indian menu and interesting decor
Very tasty and pretty good quality indian food. Nice buzzy atmosphere. The mango lassi was very good indeed. Interesting varied menu.
On arrival a waiter tried to seat us in an awkward place near the entrance, though we had booked, and there were better seats available. We were seated then at a better table. Tables are small and very close to each other, however.
The person who took the food order was pleasant and knowledgeable. The food was good and tasty, if a bit too hot at times.
The service and food were both great, I would highly recommend this gem in Hammersmith Grove
Ate here on a Saturday evening. The restaurant is quite small and a few of the tables are set very close to one another which made it difficult to have a conversation. The food was good, well flavoured and presented well.
great food and service. thank you for making the birthday dinner special
Fantastic range of authentic tasty food! Great atmosphere and customer service. They even had a chai menu of around 8 different teas. We will definitely be back. Chai Naasto is ideal for Indian Tapas that is different to Dishoom
Thoroughly enjoyed the food at this restaurant and the service was also great.
Food good, authentic and interesting - and all well-presented.
I had sent them an email about why I was going and a special request, but I don't think they check emails, nor do they seem to answer the 'phone. Otherwise - a very good evening out.
Very average food. Especially the quality of food here is sub par. Service as many other reviewers have mentioned can be abysmal.
We ordered about eight dishes and we liked one of them. The restaurant tries to mask itself as a hip quirky Indian cuisine. But the food fails miserably. The quality specifically is very bad. You can tell the amount of prepackaged sauces and ingredients and bad quality likely frozen meat used here. Avoid, there are ton of great Indian restaurants in London.
We had Samosa Chaat, Daal Makhani, Butter Naan, Star Martini with Vodka & Bombay Revive Mocktail- All items were special. But, the best of all were Rose Kulfi and Mango Kulfi that we tried in the end. Manjit was really pleasant and prompt with his assistance who went the extra mile to help us celebrate our anniversary.
Had imthis place on my mind after reading technical yet professional replies of Puneet to critical reviewers on TripAdvisor.
Finally, One of the best places in London to celebrate Indian food and reminisce authentic flavors.
Great place for food and catching up with friends. Tasty food and yummy mocktails
Fined with my husband and 7 year old. We ordered 3 starters. 2 mains (including lamb biryani), sides of tandoori roti and mango lassi to drink. The baby chicken tandoori was tasty, served with desi pickled onion which added to the flavour - tasty but the addition of a mint chutney to accompany would have helped. The fish tikka was really tasty and well worth ordering. Enjoyed the food and would go again. Would recommend making the trip if in the area or shopping st Westfields (Shepherds Bush). Service was good, food was freshly prepared and arrived hot.
Great authentic tasty Indian food. Great décor too.
Food and drinks were amazing! highly recommended and will be visiting again.
Just LOVED our supper here. Amazing food, delightful service. Highly recommend
Excellent food, every dish carefully prepared and presented! The food is comparable to some of the best restaurants in London! Restaurant was quite accommodating for our large party of 10 ppl. Restaurant manager even offered comp kulfi ice cream for our group!
Stumbled on Chai Naasto when looking for somewhere to eat before a gig. Wish we'd had more time to savour the food, and would definitely go back when not time-limited. The food was sensational. The small dishes allowed us to sample lots of different things, and the variety was fantastic. It was quite quiet when we were there, but starting to bustle by the time that we left. The staff were very helpful without being intrusive.
I had a really fantastic meal at Chai Naasto in Hammersmith, ahead of attending a gig at the Apollo. I've previously been to the Beckenham branch (which is also good!), and I was also really impressed with this restaurant. The food was imaginative and tasty (loved the range of dishes and flavours), and the service on the night I was there couldn't have been any more attentive (without being obtrusive!) or friendly. Really impressed and would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to try something a little different from the norm.
Really nice local Indian serving good quality street food
Small restaurant, recommended booking
This was my 5th visit and probably best yet, all the food was good and service much better than previously. The nana's chicken curry was outstanding.
We always liked their food. There was a dip in quality last time we were here but seems to have recovered the touch. The place is getting busier though so can get cramped sometimes ! Overall still good.
Great menu and tasty food. We had a lovely time!
The food was amazing a little spicy but overall I would definitely go again. Every dish was well presented and full of taste!
Overpriced, very expensive and small portions, wouldn’t recommend
Indian food beyond the usual curries. Highly recommended.
Amazing food as alway. Took some pals who have never been before. They loved it!
Chai naasto has a great variety of food to offer and the street food really stood out for me however I don’t think the mains live upto this. As someone involved in a family, Indian Street food business, the portion size also seemed over priced for the dishes/amount on offer. I had been waiting a while for a friend to arrive and was anxious of the fact that they only had a 1.5 hr slot available to accomodate guests due to being a busy restaurant. I am pleased that the restaurant was accomodating of this however as the 1 hour mark started to draw closer, the service started to depreciate. I was also made to wait a good 20 minutes to just get a drink. All our food was brought out at once and it had become very obvious that the restaurant just wanted us to leave as soon as possible. I would also suggest that the menu format isn’t the easiest to navigate especially as this is also used as a place mat for the meals to be on. Overall, great street food but service could be better!
A very disappointing evening at Chai Naasto. Having been to the restaurant on numerous occasions we were really disappointed at the extremely poor service we received. There is really no excuse for the length of time we had to wait for our food to arrive, it seems that their take out service is taking priority over their eat in customers. The manager did apologise and make an allowance with the bill, but the evening was to celebrate a birthday and this was completely ruined. Why take bookings if you can't accommodate your customers. The food as always was very good but left a bad taste....
Excellent meal - truly delicious food and swift, friendly, helpful service.
Great place with authentic Indian street food. Quirky, stylish decor. Really loved the photos of Nana on the walls, who’s recipes are used on the menu. Lovely cocktails too.
Really tasty Indian food! The soft shell crab was my favourite!
Really enjoyed the evening. The service was immaculate - very helpful and attentive. The food was good and the cocktails were great. The place is small, but cosy. The decor is fun and relaxed, and the atmosphere was very enjoyable. All-in-all, it was well worth the trip. I would definitely go there again when I'm next in the area.
How wonderful to find an Indian restaurant not serving the same food as most Indian restaurants. Not a bhoona, dansak or chicken tikka masala in sight, and all the better for it. Fresh authentic and delicious.
Book! It’s a small venue.
