Patri has several meanings, in Hindi it means Pavement, in Urdu it means Track and in ancient Sanskrit its means a vessel or small furnace. The name took us back to our origins and we decided to use Pavement, Tracks, and Furnace to come up with a street food menu contains all three elements. Our starters are street food classics on pavements in India and Pakistan. Our grills are freshly cooked in the tandoor at over 400 degrees to replicate cooking in a furnace. Our curries are inspired by the railway cooks on train journeys in India.

Founder, Puneet Wadhwani, has created a never-before-seen menu bringing to life the snacks and dishes he once ate as a child growing up within a bicycle ride of New Delhi train station

From rail side snacks, such as ‘girlfriend chaat,’ cooked on the platform and handed to travellers through the windows of passing trains, to the fragrant curries, such as, ‘rare ghost,’ cooked on board.

Fantastic experience...!!
One of the very few places that know how to make Indian cuisine taste the way it's meant to be, and then some...

Would definitely come back to Patri on each of my London trips... Great job guys..!

As authentic Indian food it is good. It says it is street food - it may be but it is priced as above standard Indian food. So nice but it is expensive.

Food is also much spicier than it says on menu. Ok for me, but for family ordering non spicy food, it was too hot - maybe they should de spice it as an option

Finally when full it is difficult to talk especially if you have a table of 6 - you can’t talk to people at end. I know this is not easy to fix, but they do need to look at acoustics.

It is a good restaurant, but it is expensive and noisy and despite warnings on menus, everything has chilli in it so be aware.

Nice place but needs some tweaking

Lovely service and a great welcome. Food was ok but not as tasty as expected and not as plentiful for price. All in all a satisfactory experience. Glad we came but won’t be hurrying back.

The restaurant opened in my Northfields neighbourhood earlier this year, a few months ago. I'd read good reviews online, mainly on the neighbourhood Facebook forum. I'd also walked and bussed by and seen what looked like a unique restaurant. I've been to many of the restaurants on Northfields Avenue and some are better than others. I would say there are a lot of generic restaurants (and don't get me started on how many Nepalese there are on one small street!). Patri seemed unique and well thought through, not just slapping down the typical Indian dishes that we can get anywhere. They seemed to want to mark themselves out as a special neighbourhood restaurant. Upon visiting, I can confirm that they've done just that! I really liked the set up - you are supposed to select plates/dishes based on the sort of journey you want to take. Train journeys are the inspiration! I like any restaurant that focuses on sharing and small plates as that's my favourite way to eat. Patri does that so it gave me and my dining companion an opportunity to try a couple different plates. I had some things I'd never had at an Indian restaurant before. I loved this - especially trying these little balls that you had to crack with your spoon and fill bit by bit with different small fillings. So much fun! I would say most of the dishes I had, even the dahl maakhni, were quite spicy so come prepared for that and enjoy it. I can't wait to go back and try more. Delicious!

Really amazing dishes, a completely different experience to a regular Indian restaurant. The staff were lovely and very helpful, plus the chef came out to chat.
The Thali dish was a great way to try lots of different tastes. All lovely and beautifully presented.
Great decor and nice atmosphere too. An asset to the area.

Great evening enjoyed by all. The main courses were great . The starters were good but I think that street food traditionally is made to your taste . The mixed grill was nice and good portion .
Pity no fish on the menu
It was noisy so if you are larger group difficult to hear conversation .
Slightly uncomfortable sitting on hard wooden benches - maybe a cushion would be good.
Overall - good food and will be going back

This was the first time we had been to Patri. It was such a refreshing change from other Indian restaurants. The decor was extremely warm and attractive. The staff were most attentive and the chef came out to greet us - a first for us from an Indian restaurant. He told us that the menu will change over the months and showcase dishes from different parts of India. The dishes were delicious and not too sweet, as can be the case with Indian cuisine. There was an amazing selection of GF dishes, and, being GF, it meant I could order from almost all the menu. There was also a great selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes. The wine list was good and served in attractive glasses. The chilli heat of the dishes was well balanced. All in all, an extremely innovative and interesting addition to Northfield Avenue.

Fantastic food and interesting decor makes this something a bit different, however seating was very tight and unfortunately the service was very slow. No-one asked if we woudl like more drinks so they definitely missed out on drink sales.

We absolutely loved this place. I tried booking several times before and finally we got a booking. The only gripe we had was we arrived at 6.55 for a 7pm booking and had to wait for a table ( although there were empty tables around) the booking system isn't ideal.
But they made up for ths, by offering two large glasses of vino of o9ur choice on the house.
Now the food, wow, it was amazing and so worth the wait. I look forward to our next visit

A gorgeous addition to Ealing. I took my 12 yr old son out for dinner and we had the meat thali as a main and some puri balls to start and a couple of Karma Colas. The decor was fabulous, the staff friendly and efficient and the food was more than enough for the two of us. Will definitely go back and try the cocktails with the girls
