Paysanne was opened in 1988 by my parents, Bob & Barbara Ross. Mum was a devotee of Elizabeth David and her love of simple, provincial French cookery. While she presented her dishes to the good people of North Wales, Dad kept their glasses topped up with wines sourced directly from small independent French vineyards. They retired to live in South West France in 2003, from where they still regularly dispatch their latest bottled discoveries.
We have shaken things up a little of late. With our chef of ten years, David Hughes, we have started serving Sunday lunch for the first time. We’re also allowing you the chance to start the weekend early with our new Friday lunch menu.
We have over a quarter of a century’s experience in the art of wining and dining our guests. We hope very much that you’ll join us soon.
Excellent! Relaxed, friendly with good food. Look forward to the next visit
A really pleasant experience. Hope we get the chance to go again when we are next in Wales
Great local restaurant. Well cooked food. Great house wine. Not quite as good as my last visit 3-4 months ago but still very good. Only slight negative was the menu du Marche was the same.
we ate a really delicious meal here. the food was fresh and beautifully cooked, perfectly seasoned, the service was just lovely and the atmosphere in the restaurant was great. i highly recommend this place a lovely authentic french bistro=====
Pleasantly located small restaurant with busy clientele. My wife and I went on a Wednesday evening, it was busy and service was slow but well organised, this is not a fast food place rather a venue to savour good food. We had the set 3 course menu which was extremely good value and quality excellent.
We very much enjoyed our visit to Paysanne...we received a very warm welcome from the owner and excellent service throughout.
The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, a great menu and high quality food.
Fantastic service and food. The music could of benefited from being a little louder.
Another fabulous meal at a gem of a restaurant.
There were 7 of us for Sunday lunch and we were all bowled over by the quality of the ingredients and cooking, which was truly sublime! One member of our party ordered another main as he was so impressed with the fish cookery.
A big well done to Cai and his team!!!!!?
Our daughters birthday, very friendly civil and excellent food perhaps on Sunday when we went the specials could be a bit more varied and French

Delicious Sunday Lunch. Food excellent. Service attentive and very friendly. Highly recommend.
My favourite place to eat. Wonderful food, the customer service is second to none. Never feel rushed just perfect timing by Kai and his wonderful team.
Excellent service, wonderful attentive host. Recommend that you book in advance, as so popular.
The best restaurant for miles around. Cai, the host and owner is a very charming English (Welsh)? man. The cuisine is authentic French and very reasonably priced. Excellent wine list. Locally caught seafood. We suggest you book in advance as this restaurant is well frequented. Terry Kelly (Manchester )
Local French restaurant with charming host, good food, excellent choices and a very good wine list.
Perfect place to meet, take friends and have a relaxing meal
Our first visit to Paysanne, but definitely not the last! We had the steak and lamb which were both cooked to perfection. Cheeseboard is defiantly one to go for as well, if you have any room left! Ambiance, service and food thoroughly recommended.
always a warm welcome and staff attentive.food good and good value.
Excellent food. Great ambiance. Left my hat though!
Just the right venue for a relaxing meal with Mum while we were away in North Wales.
Usual top quality food and service and by far the best restaurant in the area.
We went for lunch for my husband's birthday last week. This was the 1st time I had Escargot and although at 1st I was not very keen; they were quite good. My husband had the Hake and it was very Fresh and a big thick piece.I had the Guinea Fowl and it was good. The Muscadet , akthough a bit pricey was good and it complements the meal perfectly. The service was very friendly and prompt. Definitely worth returning .
Most welcoming and charming restaurant. Well worth a visit. Pre booking advised.
Good ambiance. Efficient service. Good diversity of choice in menu. Staff attentive.
Excellent food. Staff friendly and attentive. Great selection wines. Would highly recommend.
Great place with fabulous food and a great ambience.
A lovely evening with great food and ambience. Will definitely visit again and would recommend.
Yet another fantastic meal enjoyed at Paysanne. We don't get the chance to dine out often but we do we want to have the assurance of a great experience - somewhere to enjoy amazing food at an affordable price in a relaxed atmosphere. We like trying out different dishes and this time I've had the sea bream with an incredible sauce and my hubby thought the tart of the day (blueberry and almond tart) divine!
Had a lovely meal. Small intimate restaurant with a lovely ambiance. Attentive and friendly staff.
We had not been to paysanne for many years ,but decided to go for my partners birthday .Well what a fantastic meal we had service was excellent and food was yummie . We have a b and b locally and will be recommending to our guests
I have been to this restaurant several times and it never disappoints. Went for a workplace catch up and everyone enjoyed their food and we are hoping to book for our Christmas party
Just a lovely experience to round off a short break. No fuss on line booking - great menu - offers great value and flavours
10/10 thoroughly recommend and will return
Good quality food and friendly staff. Soup needed a bit more seasoning but my fish was beautifully cooked. One of the very few places in the area that serves proper restaurant food of restaurant quality.
