Paysanne was opened in 1988 by my parents, Bob & Barbara Ross. Mum was a devotee of Elizabeth David and her love of simple, provincial French cookery. While she presented her dishes to the good people of North Wales, Dad kept their glasses topped up with wines sourced directly from small independent French vineyards. They retired to live in South West France in 2003, from where they still regularly dispatch their latest bottled discoveries.
We have shaken things up a little of late. With our chef of ten years, David Hughes, we have started serving Sunday lunch for the first time. We’re also allowing you the chance to start the weekend early with our new Friday lunch menu.
We have over a quarter of a century’s experience in the art of wining and dining our guests. We hope very much that you’ll join us soon.
We ate at Paysanne on Fri 11th Oct, it was already full when we arrived, the welcome, service & food, was lovely, we were staying nearby & would definitely go again
Another fabulous meal at Paysanne. Lovely food, great service. Thank you
We were a party of 7 for Sunday lunch. We were warmly greeted and the service and food were both excellent. A lovely atmosphere with people obviously enjoying their day
Excellent meal celebriting my birthday. We really enjoyed it.
We have been to this restaurant several times and on each occasion the food and ambiance had been first class
Great food, good atmosphere, wonderful service . Friendly attentive staff
What a wonderful welcome. Very impressed particularly with the service and the fish specials menu which was extensive. Will definitely be going back.
Amazing food amazing service and a very special meal
What to add? Friendly & attentive service, prices at a sensible level. Would be a regular customer if not living 200 miles away! We will be back . Sant’e Margaret& Michael Matthews. PS thank you for the introduction to Picpoul fizz.
Paysanne has never let us down and we have been going for over 20 years! Outstanding.
We went back as a party of 4 after a 5 year gap - still as great as we remember first time around, great food, great service.Long may you last..!!!
Lovely place. Nicely decorated and very clean. Service impeccable and all staff very polite. Food delicious and promptly served, nice and hot. Good quality house wines. It was a joy to see a table set out properly. Definitely value for money.
Paysanne was just wonderful. Great food, perfectly cooked. Loved the fish stew starter and hake main course was amazing. Nicest meal out all year. Wish we lived nearer as we'd be regulars!!
A fantastic restaurant - make sure you book a table sp you are not disappointed
Cosy, nice relaxed atmosphere. Food simple and well cooked, good choices.
This was our first visit to Paysanne, from the moment we arrived the service was outstanding. We had the fixed price menu which was excellent value and also delicious. There appeared to be no difference in quality, quantity and presentation between our meal and those we could see from the a la carte; sometimes this occurs in restaurants of all types. All in all an excellent evening and we would definitely visit again if in the area.
It has to be one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. The attention to detail was first class. The food was very well cooked & very well presented.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Paysane to anyone (in fact I already have)
If you get the chance to dine there you should. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Outstanding Food! Service is second to none.
The best restaurant in Deganwy and Conwy without a doubt!
Owner is a real host, staff are very efficient .
Roy & Debbie from Runcorn , Cheshire.
Good food, friendly host. Very welcoming environment.
This is such a lovely place. Highly recommend.
The food is always excellent, the service is warm, informed and helpful.
The size of the restaurant is just right.
I can't praise it enough. It is a favourite to come to when I'm visiting family.
Long may it continue and prosper!
Very pleasant welcome,really tasty starter,lovely main,God’s pudding,good company,what more could anyone want?
Arrived slightly early, no problem. The maitre de called us by name and gave us a choice of table. The food was first class and not too overfacing. This is the second time we have been here and the standard was consistent.
First visit and very enjoyable. We will be back soon.
Excellent evening , perect for the surprise element of the occasion .
Oysters were to die for .
regards and well done ,
Why not come over to Ruthin , to create a Paysanne product =- soup, pate , French Chutney . we can do jars as well as tubs . etc
We had a lovely meal and staff were attentive and food presented well.
A small, family run French restaurant. We pre-ordered lobster thermador which was cooked to perfection and served with potatoes dauphinois and a good selection of other veg. Good selection of desserts and wine. Also endless supply of good coffee which is so rare in this country. A very pleasant evening.
We were greeted on arrival friendly Owner and shown straight away to our table.Despite being very busy and under pressure I thought the service was good. The food was very good and plenty of it.Will definitely book again when back at Delaney.
Excellent food ,very tasty rustic french food ,we arrived early but was shown to our table immediately,we quickly ordered our drinks which we had the house red, very nice it was too.We had 3 courses which were all excellent,we discovered that our veg had not been served,so at the end of the meal upon asking for the bill, the waiter gave us the deserts free of charge which was a nice gesture, even though without the veg,we were both stuffed.Nice atmosphere we got the feeling lots of people were repeat diners which is always a good sign, overall excellent would definitely book again if we were in the area.
Excellent friendly staff, lovely ambience, food was first class . The set menu was great value.
What an amazing dining experience. Such good service cannot speak highly enough of this place
Fantastic meal fabulous wine and impeccable service
Excellent! Relaxed, friendly with good food. Look forward to the next visit
A really pleasant experience. Hope we get the chance to go again when we are next in Wales
Great local restaurant. Well cooked food. Great house wine. Not quite as good as my last visit 3-4 months ago but still very good. Only slight negative was the menu du Marche was the same.
we ate a really delicious meal here. the food was fresh and beautifully cooked, perfectly seasoned, the service was just lovely and the atmosphere in the restaurant was great. i highly recommend this place a lovely authentic french bistro=====
Pleasantly located small restaurant with busy clientele. My wife and I went on a Wednesday evening, it was busy and service was slow but well organised, this is not a fast food place rather a venue to savour good food. We had the set 3 course menu which was extremely good value and quality excellent.
We very much enjoyed our visit to Paysanne...we received a very warm welcome from the owner and excellent service throughout.
The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, a great menu and high quality food.
Fantastic service and food. The music could of benefited from being a little louder.
Another fabulous meal at a gem of a restaurant.
There were 7 of us for Sunday lunch and we were all bowled over by the quality of the ingredients and cooking, which was truly sublime! One member of our party ordered another main as he was so impressed with the fish cookery.
A big well done to Cai and his team!!!!!?
Our daughters birthday, very friendly civil and excellent food perhaps on Sunday when we went the specials could be a bit more varied and French
