It was amazing to find out that I have not been to Pelicano for five years or so, but food was as good as ever. It was a bit pity that two wines I chose were not available, but the ones recommended by the owner were very good. Perhaps, it was good thing that my choices were not available. Anyway, all of my friends enjoyed the evening very much and I would definitely go back to Pelicano in the near future.
Despite having been to this restaurant many, many times over the years, I am somewhat disappointed that there never seems to be a hint of recognition for a returning customer. I like the restaurant despite seldom feeling warmly welcomed. The service is efficient and the food good. Better if served with a big smile!
Good food quality and service. The seating arrangement is tight still acceptable. Overall very good.
Food always excellent. Service very professional and at the right pace.
So bad, that I would rather pay not to have eaten there. They put my bottle on another table and not top me up after waiting ages for them to, so I had to act or I’d be parched. The calamari wasn’t the best, but par. The veal cutlet was drier than the Sahara. Furthermore, I had to request for the bill not once, but twice. Moreover, they had garden chair cushions. In Chelsea, just why?
They could not have been nicer, wonderful restaurant-many thanks indeed
Had the black seafood ravioli as a main course. This was really good; however, the portion was too small for a main course.
Went to have a nice meal and evening with family I have not seen in a while. Not a bad bite of food. Everything was wonderful and the service is very good. Not too noisy and a lovely local restaurant with fantastic food! Would definitely go back
An excellent neighbourhood restaurant serving typical Sardinian cuisine. A great wine list with some first class Sardinian wines at very sensible prices Friendly staff, giving great service. An absolute delight and delighted to have it on our doorstep!
Our go-to local Italian. The staff is always welcoming and the food is consistently very good. The Sardinian fare is a nice change to the usual Italian and it has a interesting wine list.
Great spot for good Italian with lovely service
A great neighbourhood restaurant. EXCELLENT food and excellent service.
I love this restaurant.. it does Italian mainly sardinian food in a wholesome simple family way but with great flavour and fresh ingredients. So if you want a relaxed and delicious meal with some fabulous Sardinian wine this is the place. The staff are lovely.
A friend was staying at a nearby hotel. We had passed Pellicano returning home from another nearby restaurant. We rapped on the door and Marcello answered. He was charming as he explained the 19-year history of the restaurant.
We were seated immediately at a lovely round table. The waiter was attentive and informative. We shared a plate of fried calamari (not quite enough for three people, but very good). For starters we had a "rocket" salad; a mixed salad; and, a tomato salad. All were fresh and tasty.
For main plates, two diners had linguini and clams. The linguini was prepared "al dente"; the clams were small and tasty. The other diner had lamb chops that were prepared perfectly.
We shared an apple crostini; one diner had gelato. All were very good.
Throughout, service was attentive and friendly. A neighborhood gem.
Very pleasant maitre d’. Cuisine excellent.
yes great service and very flexible with the menu and what I ordered - I wanted prawn instead of crab and this was no problem. Just a great easy and lovely destination for a civilised lunch in Chelsea - don't tell everyone as we don't want to spoil it!!
Poor welcome on arrival. Wasn’t offered a drink while waiting for my companions. Vegetable order wasn’t fulfilled properly.
Great local find, excellent service and wonderful food. Good menu choices and wine list. Couldn’t fault service and food quality. We were a party of four, arrived early but were seated straight away. Very attentive staff, we felt unhurried and enjoyed our evening out. Highly recommended.
I had not been to Pelican for a few years and decided to meet a friend there for lunch as it was located between us. Mistake. Maybe it was just an off day but it wasn't great. We shared the buffalo mozzeralla and tomato starter -- the mozzarella was good but the tomatoes were pale orange, small and hard, no taste and definitely not Italian. We both chose the veal milanese which is a favourite of both of us. It looked good but it was tough and the breading topping separated from the meat right away. Seems as if it was made way ahead of time. We always had to catch someone's eye for service, even ordering. Not sure I will go back.
The usual high quality food in nice, quiet surroundings.
Very friendly and attentive. Always a warm welcome. The food is really very good indeed and I would always look to taking friends there.
Wonderful evening meal at Pellicano restaurant. We ordered the baby chicken and crab fresh pasta which were both delicious - although the pasta dish felt a little small compared to the chicken. The chicken was beautifully cooked and seasoned. Service was excellent and attentive, and we were very lucky to sit outside in the warm summer evening!
The service is always attentive, professional and at the right pace. The food is fresh, authentic and delicious. The menu choice is not too broad and not too narrow with a price range suiting most occasions. The outside seating is wonderful. Compliments to the team.
Great table outside, great service and friendly
Excellent food so perfect for Friday lunch!
Deliciously QUIET. Sat outside on street with little traffic. Perfect.
The food was good, but the service was not. The manager was very good, but his staff were slow and inattentive. This was especially noticeable as we were the only table inside the restaurant as it was early evening, a few people eating outside. The staff were hanging around in the doorway and I felt I had to beckon them to get any service, which I do not like to do.
Good Food, but the service is very slow and can be improved.
Well-spaced tables; good service. However, the bill allways seems to be much more than anticipated.
Excellent Italian for both couples or families. Very accommodating for specific requests
An excellent Italian restaurant serving classic Sardinian cooking.
Very good ingedients nicely cooked. Good wine list. Friendly,
polite, and prompt service.
The food was delicious. The restaurant was cosy and quiet.
Boutique restaurant, just off the Kings Rd, dined as a group, lovely personal touch of service, plenty of options on the menu, delicious food, Italian based wine list. Just the meal that we as a group needed. Really nice.
Tasty Italian food. Friendly staff and a good menu to cater for a couple of fussy eaters in our party. I’d say half our choices were very tasty and half were ok. A little expensive perhaps but then that’s the area. Was a little quiet but then we ate early and it was starting to get busier as we were leaving. The decor felt a little dated. Enjoyed dinner.
Warm welcome, together with courteous and attentive service and excellent food at a reasonable price.
Good fresh ingredients, consistent, unobtrusive service so perfect for conversation
How nice to see that this restaurant was busy on the night we visited. On other visits customers have been few. It deserves to be popular as it delivers good food and service.
Moved abroad, so happy to see that Pelicano is as wonderful as always: the attentive maître d
and friendly staff, the fabulous food and the reasonable prices. Make sure you get the Sardinian sheet music bread (pane carasau). We hope it stays around for a long time.
Pelicano is a wonderful neighbourhood restaurant. Quiet location. Very welcoming service and the food is always great.
Lovely place and fantastic food recommendations!! Love going to Pellicano, particualrly in the summer when you can sit outside.
Nice relaxed Thursday evening meal in a welcome relatively quiet restaurant.
