   We come to Penrose Kitchen most times we visit Cornwall. The food is always of a very high standard, not your average rush and go food service. Attention to detail and the friendly service is one of the reasons we keep returning.

   What a find! The Penrose Kitchen takes diners on a whole new level of culinary experience. The food is to die for and the service is both professional and yet extremely friendly. What's not to like, totally recommended and will definitely be returning.

   I think we were a second sitting because we felt everything has been reheated. The potatoes were tough, yorkshire puddings cold and the beef overcooked. Very disappointing as we have eaten here many times and the food was excellent, but this was our first Sunday Lunch.

   Superb food served by caring staff, I would highly recommend eating here. The restaurant is situated in a beautiful location where you can stroll around the gardens and ponds before or after eating.

    An absolutely wonderful lunch. Four of us ate, and between us had a fair selection from the menu. The cheese soufflé was delicious! Very friendly people, beautiful setting - an ideal day.

    Lovely restaurant with outside seating. We had the two course lunch option which was excellent. I can highly recommend the twice baked cheese soufflé. Our waiter was friendly, attentive and very professional. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Penrose Kitchen.

    Lovely restaurant where you can hear yourself speak. Good service, although it took a little while for our pre-dinner drinks to arrive. Very nice food and delicious cocktails.

    We had the most fabulous meal. Faultless We can’t wait to return. The menu sup been. We couldn’t decide so shared each course so we could enjoy the flavours. We can’t recommend more highly.

    A warm reception from hostess and chef (as usual). Tables well spaced out though one or two noisy guests whose conversation could be clearly heard from across the room detracted a little (noise subsided markedly when their food arrived). Our food was excellent and could not be faulted. We look forward to our next visit.

    it had a warm inviting atmosphere. The service was exceptional. The whole experience was relaxed and friendly. The food was cooked to our requirements. The cheese souffle was mouth watering, as was the monk fish. My companion has the scallops, followed by the venison, both of which she could not fault. I shall certainly visit again and have already recommended it to my family and friends Thank you Penrose Kitchen for an exceptional evening

    On arrival we were welcomed and never felt rushed. Staff are very helpful and allowed us time to choose from an excellent menu. The food was excellent, as indeed it always is. This has become our “go-to restaurant of choice” and I would recommend it to anyone.

    This is a gem of a restaurant with a very talented chef and delightful service. The atmosphere is very relaxed yet feels special, it's warm and welcoming. We enjoyed a three course lunch which was a real treat and superb value for money. Fresh produce beautifully prepared and presented and it was absolutely delicious! Penrose Kitchen is situated only 3 miles from Truro and well signposted with lots of parking when you arrive. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for really good quality food and a lovely atmosphere .

    Went in late March so place was not buzzing. Food was good but not wowing as expected from reading reviews. The service and ambiance was great. Would like to come back and experience the place in the summer - give it another chance during on-season.

    Our 2nd visit to Penrose. Easy parking, responsive friendly welcome, nicely distanced tables, very friendly and knowledgable maitre d. Really great, well prepared tasty food and nice drinks.

    Such a warm welcome and exceptional service throughout our visit. Lovely setting - we look forward to visiting in warmer months and enjoying the terrace. Great food - outstanding cheese soufflés! All delicious, though my pan seared broccoli was just a little too charred for my taste. In short - we WILL be back, and would highly recommend.

    The staff were excellent they greeted us at the door and really looked after us, nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent nice and hot and nicely presented. It is excellent value for money and would highly recommend a visit.

    The starters & mains were very good but the desserts were very disappointing at £9 each - the rhubarb was very hard, so a fight to cut with a fork & spoon and the mango purée with the chocolate brownie was so bitter it was inedible.
