Found in one of Reading’s best hotels, Pentalounge is a stunning and unusual restaurant and bar with a seriously special look. Designed by renowned architect and designer Matteo Thun – who has also worked on hotels for the Missoni brand – Pentalounge is a stunning combination of ultra modern chic restaurant and old fashioned gentlemen’s club. Sleek lines and bold colours are combined with languorous shapes and tactile surfaces. In keeping with the setting, Pentalounge’s menu sees the chefs (working in a theatre kitchen for your entertainment) bring together classic and contemporary grill dishes with ease. After dining, challenge other guests to a Wii tournament, hit the pool table or just kick back with a cocktail.

Pentalounge, as part of the Pentahotel is the epitome of Swedish simplistic design... The food menu doesn't have a lot of coice, but what is on there is LOVELY. The meal started with three different choices of home made bread... all of which I'd never tried before - they were all lush. I then went for a very healthy goats cheese salad (well apart from the cheese!). It was a nice, relaxed dinner and the hotel looked great from first impressions too!

We had no complaints with our meal from the Caverhsam, however we thought the wine menu was much better (and very good value for money) before Penta hotel took over.

The food at the Caversham is a little disappointing for its price band. It's nicely presented but the only thing we could recommend is the steak, which is excellent. The mushroom/brie tart starter was cold (was it supposed to be?) and the soup was bland, as was the vegetarian main, which I wasn't altogether sure of - the griddled parts had a "meaty/fishy" taste which I didn't like. Everything was ok, but nothing was outstanding although the steak was worth paying extra for.

I wasn't particularly impressed with Caversham restaurant. Unless you enjoy dining in an airport lounge, this place isn't for you - it's soulless, empty and too bright for a start. The food was pretty mediocre too and we sent the starters back because they tasted like they came out of a packet. The service was fairly good and the 2for1 deal made it worth it but I would have resented paying full price for this meal.

We enjoyed lovely food and excellent service at The caversham. The restaurant was rather busy yet the service was still fantastic and efficient.
Was great value for money. We would reccomend this restaurant to friends and family without a doubt.

This restaurant always manages to exceed it's own expectations every time we visit. The staff are very polite and are always happy to help and assist with menu choices. The food seems to be cooked with much care and attention. The layout seemed to be well thought out as it allows diners to have a peaceful meal without losing any of the restaurants ambience.

The Caversham restaurant is a great place for a romantic meal. Peaceful, excellent unobstrusive but attentive service, delicious food and a good wine list. HIghly recommended.
