Fantastic experience, the food was original and imaginative, we had the set menu and loved all of it! Definitely our best dining experience in London for quite a while.
Great little restaurant. Staff were very knowledgable and enthusiastic about the food. They coped with my dietary requirements brilliantly. We had a great evening. There is a lovely relaxed atmosphere, we would definitely go back.
Food & service was amazing. Really good value for money
Honestly, some of the most inventive and tastiest dinners we had in a long time, and you don’t need to travel into soho or Mayfair! It’s rare that I find somewhere so perfect, the atmosphere was just right, informal and buzzy but not loud, plus they were playing the likes of Blur and Bowie; it really fitted the bill as we were out celebrating on a rare night out! We had the pescatarian tasting menu and the burnt onion soup was one of the nicest things I think I’ve ever eaten. We will most definitely return.
Absolutely loved it can't recommend it enough! Food was really interesting and extremely tasty. Very cool place
Service brillant and relaxing atmosphere. But the food didn’t
Superb meal! We had the tasting menu (one veggie, one standard) and everything was innovative and delicious. A special thanks to the staff for moving us from the bar to a table that became free.
Amazing food but service could be a little faster... All round would definitely go back
Amazing tasting menu with delicious and beautifully presented dishes.
Love Perilla! Great food, lovely staff. They don’t do the tasting menu on Sunday night but it was all delicious anyway!
Lovely ambiance, lovely staff and really good food! It is one of our favorite locals :)
A wonderful, local restaurant that serves innovative, delicious food. Have been a number of times and never had a bad dish. Highly recommended!
There was a great vegetarian menu and every course was delicious. Left feeling completely stuffed (in a good way). Would definitely recommend it. A bit pricey so maybe save it for a special occasion.
Great to finally get to Perilla. Great food and ambience. We'll be back
Such interesting and superbly tasty food, served by knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff. Perilla will always be a favourite. Pricey but worth it for a treat.
Innovative, interesting cooking in a beautifully designed, relaxed restaurant. Great service, loved it!
Hands down the best restaurant in London at the moment
Me and my partner made a reservation after reading all the great reviews online, but I must say, we left feeling quite unimpressed.
Staff was lovely and attentive, however food was average and overpriced. We were surprised that there were so few options on the menu and the selection was odd and unbalanced. Out of the 6 dishes on the menu, three of them were fish dishes - for a menu that is meant for sharing, there wasn't much variation. There were no side dishes to accompany the fish, and only one meat option - Swedish meatballs (I'm Swedish - they were OK but not great). The dishes didn't really go together - onion soup, deep fried fish and meatballs? It felt disconnected.
This wouldn't have been as much of an issue if all the dishes were amazing, but to be honest they were all a bit underwhelming. Turkish pepper stuffed with Baba Ganoush was alright, but at £12 for a single, small stuffed pepper, it wasn't a very satisfying dish.
As for the decor, it's got a nice vibe. Nice layout, warm lighting, rustic and modern. The tables are very small though and it was impossible to fit all of our dished on the table, which made eating and sharing the food awkward and uncomfortable (and we ordered less dishes than recommended by the waitress). Normally not something I would complain about, but when a meal comes to £50 per person, I would expect the food and the dining experience to be top notch. I normally don't take the time to write reviews, however I don't think it's fair this place has such great reviews when there are plenty of restaurants that have better food at a fair price. The onion soup at £8.5 was tiny and didn't even come with bread, we had to purchase this for an additional £4.5. I will give them props for the bread though - the seaweed sourdough was the best part of the meal.
Great services. We went for the chef's menu, with accompanied wine. Superb food and presentations. Some dishes are experimental which is welcome.
Great atmosphere. Delicious, interesting food. Good-value tasting menu with decent-sized portions. Staff were friendly and helpful, particularly with dietary requirements.
We love this restaurant - it gets better every time we go. Super accommodating when we requested a table to accommodate our pram. We're so lucky to have them in our neighbourhood.
Love this restaurant. One of my favourite places in London
Outstanding as usual.
Excellent as expected!
Everything about food and service was outstanding, however they could use some more heaters and isolation during winter period inside the restaurant.
a really relaxing experience with some lovely tasty food.
Some of the best food I’ve had in London in a long time/ sat at the bar - highly recommend that!
Incredible flavours, relaxed atmosphere, great service.
Great and welcome addition to the Green Lanes dining scene. Perhaps the most expensive restaurant on the Lanes but also probably the best in terms of objective culinary skill and execution. It may be modern cuisine but the dishes nod to local traditional Turkish cooking and produce, and the menu is full of surprises, wit and flavour.
Had taster menue , (nearly everything off the a la carte) , all courses v. good , great mix of flavours . Staff were great . Will be back , recommended.
We ate here this week to celebrate our Sons 25th Birthday; he lives in Stoke Newington so had picked it out.
Modern decor, I felt like I was in a restaurant in Berlin, all quite rough, but comfortable.
On a Wednesday night, the restaurant was full and buzzy. Lots of young couples, in fact mainly a young crowd. We could spot one other person of a similar age to us!
The staff were excellent and very knowledgeable. Good advice given on the wine.
We all went for the tasting menu, which is actually very good value for London at £44 a person.
Interesting food, combinations and tastes I had not had before. I did not think everything was fabulous, but overall the food was different and good. I loved the Padron peppers stuffed with patatas bravas and a paprika based dipping sauce. The Gurnard fried in beef fat with chip shop curry sauce was much better than the description! I also loved the salted seaweed creme caramel.
This is a young persons restaurant, run by exciting young chefs and staff, in a perfect location. All up and coming!
I would recommend. I hope they continue to be successful
I noted the noise level as “quiet” because we were the loudest party in an otherwise extremely relaxing and cosy atmosphere. The word in German is Gemütlichke - impossible to translate but means something that makes one feel as happy and warm as home. Perilla was better, for the simple reason their seasonal and locally sourced food was turned into outstanding and priceless culinary germs. I have also been raised with quite the wine palate and grew to be amazed by their wine menu. It’s perfect for nice evening out with someone you care about; for a sweet occasion, a birthday, or even better, a date, the lights and the table leaving you with as little as possible in terms of intimacy. You could celebrate something positive with a friend around a bottle of Lebanese Syrah. The original and creative chef crew brings kitchen regular to warm winter nights and sets off sparkles with their knowledge of wine pairings, mood enhancers and the occasional sweet but spicy tooth. I could wax lyrical for hours about Perilla - the best I can do is to return.
Beautiful understated restaurant with incredible food. Highly recommend
It’s normally very good, service and food. However it seemed that a group of social foodies were dinning in the restaurant. They were having different menus than us and also the whole crew’s attention were all on them. Let down service in that day and the roast beef was way under. A bit let down when special group visiting the restaurant.
Great Food, ambiance and service.
On the pricey side, but worth the spend for an occasion.
I was deeply looking forward to experiencing dinner at perilla. Upon arrival, our hostess greeting was very awkward and somewhat rude. Then we were seated in an empty restaurant and 10mins went by with no drink order. Drinks were served and the waiter was very poor at understanding the nutritional content of the dishes. We order 6 dishes but 3 were missed off the order and re order upon correcting the waiter. When the food finally came it was average at best and took a long time between each dish to be served. The waiter then noted towards the end the final two meals
Contained dairy so whilst my partner sat there hungry, I ate alone in what was a poor dining experience. I would not recommend and there are far better restaurants of similar concept close by to go.
New Year’s Eve
Always delicious and clever with great service. But I have to write 50 words...
