I booked my table via open table for six and didn’t see any warning that there would be a set menu. I also telephoned a few days before my booking to confirm and was not informed then either - this would have been a perfect opportunity for them. I’m sure it’s in some fine print on the website but I felt this should have been communicated to me more clearly.
Some of the dishes were hit (home made bread, mussel dish and burrata - amazing!!) and miss for us. In particular we felt that the lamb dish was overly salty - the lamb was also served on the rare side which was fine in itself but None of us were keen on the layers of rare lamb fat which would have greatly benefited from being rendered more. A substituted fish soup which we all tried was also to no-ones taste and to our maybe unsophisticated tastes actively unpleasant.
Good food, friendly staffs, lovely vibes as always.
We are lucky enough to call this one of our local gems. This was the first visit since the big refurb and it was brilliant. Food epic, as ever, and thanks to the new big kitchen, much better on the timing front.
This place is the best.
Great atmosphere, really friendly staff and an unbelievably tasty and innovative menu - a really special place and have already recommended it to friends!
A restaurant that lives up to the hype and then some is a rare find, and Perilla is certainly one of those increasingly rare beasts. The food's deceptively simple yet complex flavours and textures, the amicable and informed service plus the eye pleasing setting (with no two tables too close together), made the trek all the way from across town well worth the effort to the point where is was no effort at all.
Delicious food as ever. This time passed on the set menu and delighted that therefore could try the lamb and duck dishes. Still slightly over ordered as although smallish plates all packed with flavour and quite rich. The salt cod brandade was comforting and delicious. Great wine recommendation by the staff and very tolerant of indecision and wish to taste as many as possible. Finished off with cynar negroni.
Fabulous food experience and great ambience, thanks to all the customer focused waiters
It's not often that my taste buds are so bowled over that I'm left speechless with only one desire... To refill my mouth and experience the flavours again. Quite simply extraordinary food in a nice setting with friendly, kind and competent staff. I can't wait to go back, in fact we're taking my sister in-law for her birthday
Delicious food, lovely ambiance, very good serving staff
A group of 4 of us tried everything on the menu (the menu is quite small), all delicious, especially the mushroom in truffle sauce and the skate.
We absolutely loved our lunch at Pirella. The food was a surprise we expected something different and was not disappointed. We went for a birthday lunch and enjoyed cocktails along with a selection of dishes including the French onion and seaweed soup and Burrata and beetroot. All of the dishes were equally delightful and we did not come away feeling that we had overeaten. I would really recommend this lovely restaurant with friendly service.
Been twice in 6 weeks. Outstanding food and lovely service. Favourite restaurant in London. Fantastic.
Food and service were amazing but my bf was still hungry after the 4th course before dessert. We noted this to the waiter and received an additional plate which filled him up and was spot on. So that was an exceptional and tentative service.
The quality of the food itself is brilliant and very interesting tastes. Would definitely visit again.
Food is good although minimalist, which is where problems start. If staff had told you this or there were clues on the menu I would not have left hungry. There is a lot good there they just are trying to hard I reckon
Beautiful tasting menu, great service and ambiance. Highly recommend
Very good but the first time I've paid £14 for half a large potato.
Good food but poor value for money. Portions are just tiny, pushing the idea of small plates to the extreme. The venue is beautiful but all in all it tries too hard to be hip in my opinion.
On a Saturday night service was very slow and forgetful, especially when it came to drinks, and even though the place wasn't too busy.
I'm happy to have tried it but won't go back.
Really good innovative menu of sharing plates
Ver buzzy ambiance and good friendly service
This was the 1st place we went out to dinner after our son was born a year ago and it was Phenomenal then but this visit about a year later was very disappointing.
We booked a 9pm table so we wouldn’t need to rush and 3 hours of babysitting to be safe. We waited almost an hour for our table. Although we were given drinks at the bar there wasn’t an apology given. Just that they couldn’t move the people who were sat at our table.
The wait resulted in us feeling rushed.
The food is amazing ( I really can’t stress that enough) and really worth trying but perhaps during the week when the tables aren’t booked too close together.
The sort of restaurant that has you checking the local estate agents.. No it was fantastic- great food, lovely staff, beautifully understated decor, nice people, lovely atmosphere.. an absolute treat. I would highly recommend it but you might book it and then there would be less chance of us getting in wouldn’t there?
Amazing Sunday dinner and great wine list! The food was an absolute pleasure - very comforting and the atmosphere was very relaxed.
Welcoming and friendly staff. They were busy but let us stay past the two hours that we were supposed to have our table and offered us alternative seats at the bar if we wanted to stay even longer. Really lovely food. I'm pescatarian and so is my dining partner - we were both impressed that we could eat all but one dish on the menu. It's not within my normal budget but would go again and definitely worth splurging.
Been here many times and every time it's fantastic. Simple food but prepared extremely well. Prices are reasonable. One of the best spots in London.
the food was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, we particularly enjoyed the starters although we did find that the skate had been overcooked and was a little dry which is a shame as the sauce around it was delicious.
I am not a big eater but even I though that the small plate of shepherds pie in a very shallow dish was a little on the mean side to share between four, it was beautifully cooked and proper lamb not mince, but I only had four mouthfuls ( and we divided it equally between four). I didn't see the bill but we were a bit surprised it came to so much since we just had 2 x3 courses and 2x2 courses for a table of four , on a sunday evening with 2 gin and tonics and 500ml of wine, plus a couple of soft drinks and a tea - it was just over £250 !
We were there on a wet sunday evening and we all noticed the smell of drains and damp - according to those who went it was even worse in the bathroom. This is a shame as it's a lovely space, I hope the owners can persuade their landlord to undertake some swift repairs and at least pay for a dehumidifier.
This was an absolutely incredible experience. Perilla have created such a perfect combination of season cuisine, friendly + attentive staff and casual-cool vibes. I will be back soon and will tell all my friends!
Really great food and the service was exceptional!
The most delicious and subtle flavors. Unpretentious and absolutely divine!!
Some outstanding dishes, very well executed. Very good for adventurous vegetarians.
Food was good but portions were small and overpriced for the size. Wine list was good and service was excellent
Great service, friendly and informative. Wine with the set menu was wonderfully balanced and interesting, no problem swapping one I didn’t fancy for another. Definitely listen to the recommendations on how many dishes to order as some are very delicate and small . Looking forward to the next visit.
We went for the Sunday lunch. There were a choice of starters followed by a main (with vegetarian / fish options) with lots of sides to share. The food was delicious and plentiful, we could only manage one desert to share. Perilla is a lovely restaurant, and the Sunday lunch is highly recommended
Our dinner was interesting and delicious . Only duff note was the undercooked lamb which was too raw. Other dishes were very good. Lovely service .
Fresh, innovative ans delicious food served by a bright, young and attentive staff in relaxed, unpretentious but stylish surroundings. Every dish made me long for more. Will definitely be back.
Must visit for any serious foodie! We were even bowled over by the delicious fresh warm seaweed sourdough bread with the creamiest brown butter- dreamy!
Have been recommended this restaurant by several friends, great food would recommend the set menu, did order a bottle of wine, ended up only being a carafe of 500ml, would expect to have seen the bottle before the carafe arrived, but nothing to moan about. Will definitely be going back and look forward to a whole bottle of Lebanese wine!!
Food are amazing, definitely come back again.
Perilla has a delightful menu full of interesting flavours and creative dishes. Love the burnt onion soup and sourdough bread they make. Fish dishes are all outstanding. Highly recommend the skate.
Disinterested manager / waiter
2 Bottles of fizzy red wine and told to swill it around to help...sent both back and went for house.
Food very good but let down by everything else.
Food and service were incredible. Highly recommend this place.
