Great place but unforeseen circumstances made atmosphere weird
Wow! Pretty much all I need to say. Every morsel in every mouthful was a true delight. Superb service and a buzzy vibe, even in these trying times. Perilla is now up there with my all time favourite Cornerstone.
Always great! From service, food to atmosphere, amazing across the line. I'm always amazed by their special combination of ingredients. The sorrel desert was incredible. The tasting menu is more than enough. We left with a full belly and big smiles.
Every course was a delight! Will be going back again for sure.
Delicious food, would definitely go back. The tasting menu is the way to go.
Outstanding food which was incredibly creative and beautifully presented. We did the tasting menu and each dish was a surprise and had an explosion of flavours which went really well together. Excellent wines paired with every dish as well.
Great atmosphere in a stylish restaurant with a cosy local vibe.
I would mention that the staff seemed rushed during the evening as it looked like only 2 table waiters / waitresses and service could have a bit more of friendly smile. Other than that, excellent evening. Would definitely go again.
Had the set menu - everything was delicious and the service was very friendly
Well, it was a lovely evening but the portions were on the small side and for me, rather odd.
The lamb and the bream were the best part of the meal. I hated the butter and for the price why have we to eat bread from a brown paper bag? The whiting was super-greasyand left a big greasy patch in the table, the mushroom tart was just odd, as was the black tomato thing.
The service was excellent, however. As was the friendly facilitating member of staff who was flexible about us having a newborn in a small pram next to our table.
I am over 60 so not surprisingly I missed the point of the odd dishes on this menu, and I went home hungry. I also missed most of the conversation around the table, even at only 6.30 p.m.. very noisy. The place is hugely overpriced, the wine list crazy, why no lower priced reds like Merlot?
Sorry, the younger crowd on our table were more forgiving, perhaps appreciating innovation more than warming calories!
Understated , fine dining with a meditterranean influence, from a very talented chef . Burnt Onion soup was a stand out dish - no really! And a great team too. Services was smooth. The sommelier super knowledgeable, conjuring up perfect pairings with surprises thrown in . The overall skill and attention to detail on show did not detract from the lovely, relaxed convivial atmosphere. Wonderful. A delight.
Love this place! Food is wonderful and always surprising! A real gastronomic experience.
Set menu was great but I know "portions were a bit small" is a bit of a cop out but 1 padron pepper each felt a bit stingy. You can do a bit better than that.
Lovely atmosphere. Inventive food. Friendly and attentive staff.
It was completely wonderful, every course was a delight
Great dinner experience. Very well executed tasting menu and wine pairing to go along.
Really lovely neighbourhood restaurant. Food was exceptional and we really enjoyed the cocktails!
Great evening. Loved the sea weed rice, burnt onion soup and the burnt butter with bread
absolutely love this Restaurant, the food is just amazing and prepared with love
Beautiful food, beautiful experience. Both the food and the wine were really delicious.
Food was exceptional. Well presented. Worth to try the menu.
Amazing food, very interesting flavours and really friendly staff.
Soft, clean and cosy interior- wooden tables with candles and a welcoming sit-at bar for pre-dinner tipples.
Staff were efficient and friendly. We had heard of the bread and it didn't disappoint! Freshly baked bread presented in brown paper bags and whipped butter- what is not to love. The very good wine menu, the sort you ponder over for a while. We wouldn't usually risk a restaurant that has no menu choice, but Perilla nailed every course. Oysters (which are not usually my cup of tea) were so light and flavoursome. The bread was to die for. Onion and truffle soup served in a large onion was picture-worthy. Quails egg kiev was so good, and chocolate pudding is just what you need to wash down all those flavours.
We went for Valentine’s Day and only had the set menu as option.
The starters were good, specially the burrata and the warm bread and the butter (which was an amazing butter), but from there the experience wasn’t as great, the chicken both presentation taste and size weren’t at the same level of any of the starters and the dessert was also disappointing.
The meal was way too expensive for the quality and presentation of food, special for a Valentine’s Day.
We had the Valentine’s Day set menu and were disappointed with our experience. It was a shame as we’d been looking forward to it having seen and heard good things. While the food was nice, it was overpriced for what you got and the service wasn’t great, particularly from the front of house / co owner who barely said two words. Then we found that the waitress had overcharged us. We’d asked to do 3 separate payments (contactless) 2 x £100 + the remaining £74 but instead she did 3 x £100 so we basically ended up paying around £50 service in total for a meal we weren’t that happy with!
Fantastic food. Lovely atmosphere. It would be nice if there were more wines to choose from under £25 - for a midweek dinner the wine options are very expensive.
Really good food and environment, I recommend this place for both. It is a bit expensive, but I don't regret it spending it at all. I had a lovely time.
Excellent food and service. We went for the tasting menu and I can't fault a single dish, it was all truly amazing, and brilliant value too. The wine selection is great also, love that they have some of the more unusual bottles.
This was a really excellent experience. We had the fixed menu with the paired wines. The food and the wine were separately delicious and top quality but, combined, took the whole experience to a different level of joy. We were a party of six, and each of us felt the same way. It was also very good value.
We wait almost half an hour for our food, the service member is not that welcome for us .
Ordered the tasting menu (delicious) and the wine pairing - thought the food was delicious with great touches, particularly the burnt onion soup, amazing bread and the lamb was fab. Came away feeling pleasantly full but not overloaded!
We loved La Perilla. The food was interesting and delicious. Great, friendly and knowledgeable waiter. La Perilla felt buzzy but not too cool/intimidating. We left feeling we’d eaten delicious food we’d not be able to make at home, and looking forward to an occasion to return.
Food was delicious and service very good! Would definitely go back!
Phenomenal food, liver that’s possibly best ever, crispiest crunchiest tastiest fried fish and curry and chip sauce dip that had us laughing it was so tasty, great bread with butter that had a delicious caramel note. Had no idea this place was even ok, was taken by 2 friends, one of whom had tried, the other had avoided on grounds that it looked like a ‘girlie cafe’. Wild horses won’t stop us from going back
It is hard to find fault with this restaurant and so I’m lucky it is so close to where I live. That said I haven’t been for a while and the food is even better! Great service as always and now have to plan a follow up visit! The whiting with curry sauce a delight
Second time at Perilla - was sad that the hare and aged mushroom risotto weren't on the menu this time as we really wanted to try but meal was still delicious and the atmosphere is always divine. This place has the warmth of a gorgeous family home.
Outstanding taster for the price. Particular highlight was the wine flight - sommelier gave a lot of info about the vineyards and producers which was really interesting and added to the experience. Would recommend to anyone.
Delicious. Very inventive food, well presented and well served. Liked the tap water being both sparkling and still and free.
The whole experience was wonderful. The place looks great! Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. The food itself was exceptional! Amazing seasonal menu. I will be back!
The food is amazing. We had the tasting menu, at £44 pp is great value. The starters, bread soaked in moules marienere sauce, battered fish and curry sauce, padron peppers and patatas bravas, delicious. Then the burnt onion soup- so good. Seaweed bread and butter. Seaweed risotto was light and delicate. Beautifully cooked lamb. And finished off with a great custard tart. We sat at the bar where you can see all the workings going on in the kitchen which I always love. But any table in this place is good, the ambience is really inviting and relaxed.
This was my second trip and absolutely thrilled with my food and wine. Beautiful experience from start to finish.
Beautiful relaxed fine dining with a fantastic front of house team. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough. One of the most exciting independent restaurants in London right now.
