Lovely in every way!
Inventive cooking. Interesting ingredients, put together with a great eye for detail. Highly recommended
Never fails to impress. one and only place where have been lately each time incredibly inspired. the only time I wasn't satisfied was when we haven't order a set menu. really record to go for the whole experience the dishes come from the kitchen in best possible magical timing, its all part of perfection. everything is excellent, the service the flavours and the atmosphere .
I go regularly - taking family, friends, and clients. Sit back and enjoy the tasting menu with 100% faith you will be wow'd. It is hands-down one of the best restaurants in London.
Outstanding as always.
Stunning from start to finish, Greek Salad absolute stand out dish !
Everything was fabulous, food was outstanding. Only smallest criticism is staff reached over whilst eating to remove plates or took empty individual plates whilst others were still eating.
Fab food fab wine fab service
Wonderful thanks xx
Even better that last time! Every course was banging! Will be coming back...
Food was excellent. Service a bit rushed. That would be my only point for improvement.
Was looking forward to try it and was not disappointed: the food was very tasty and the wine was good and very well priced compared to the usual extortionate average wine in may places. The service I thought was particularly good: quick, efficient whilst patient when required the overall atmosphere is nice, relaxed, civilised without the loud tables as the bar sitting favours couples.
Amazing experience, can not fault this restaurant. We will definitely be returning
Excellent veggie lunch at Perilla this weekend. The puddings were appropriately light, so we managed the full three courses and sent home full not as if we'd overeaten. Excellent all round. They use seasonal ingredients. We've been a few times now and have never eaten the same thing twice. Highly recommended.
Food was excellent, especially the fried hake with curry source, it was amazing.
Staff were great and atmosphere was very nice. Definitely will visit again!
Amazing, lives up to every expectation. Most interesting and delicious meal I have had in a while. Loved the surprise deserts at the end, thoughtful and playful.
Superlative ! Delicious food exquisitively presented. Inventive without being bizarre! Lovely people working well together in a simple but comfortable well lit room. cleverly assembled and fairly priced wine list
The best and most innovative meal I’ve had in a while full of lovely and delicious surprises - great taste combinations and amazing food and wine knowledge from the staff. Couldn’t recommend Perilla enough ... I will certainly be returning again very soon.
All in all, fabulous. Tucked away in Newington Green, one of Londons best kept secrets.
From start to finish the whole meal was flawless. Our server was very knowledgeable, professional and the food was absolutely delicious, creative and flavoursome.
Outstanding food and service. Ever so slightly too noisy at times but definitely worth the experience. The food was extremely delicious!
Tasting menu was decent value, very different and some dishes a genuine taste sensation. Would definitely return!
Fantastic food, big bill
really delicous. a little noisy but great service and great food. and great value.
The service was very good, attentive without being overbearing. The menu was limited (they do a fixed price set menu on Sundays), but the choices seemed adequate. The only trouble was everything was oversalted so while the dishes seemed promising, the execution was problematic. And the bill was a bit over the top!
really interesting and great food and not bad prices
Great imaginative food. Good service and not too expensive. Some memorable dishes!
Probably the best restaurant experience I've had in recent years. The food as well as the wine were absolutely delicious and the service was amazing. Will definitely come back soon!
This is the most delicious food. Its just what I want from a restaurant - the kind of food I couldn’t cook at home. The battered whiting with chip shop curry sauce and fried Curry leaves is extraordinary . And the transparent shiny bright green lettuce salad - a wonder !
Amazing food! We had the tasting menu and was simply blown away by the unique flavours and prettiness / inventiveness of the dishes (who knew seaweed could be a good pasta substitute?!) My personal favourite was the burnt onion soup - so good, i could have had a whole pot. Super good value for £44, I will definitely be back!
Exceptional food and the quality of the service was really good also. Highly recommend it to anyone
Amazing 👌 best meal ever will recommend to all foodies .
Very imaginative cuisine with a good wine list and attractive decor. One of my favorite restaurants in London.
It is always an exciting experience to dine at Perilla - so creative, inventive, beautiful and utterly delicious! The ambience and service compliment the menu! Never disappoints.
Beautiful, low-key restaurant in Newington Green with a buzzy but chill atmosphere.
The menu advises to order 3 small plates per person, but 2 each were more than enough for me & my greedy boyfriend. I don't eat meat, so we asked for the two seafood dishes that we were sharing to be brought together & then the meat / fish after - like a starter & a main. Our waitress suggested she'd understood, but they decided differently & we ended up waiting for each other a lot, not great. But definitely delicious.
Saying that, most of the dishes looked so beautiful you didn't want to eat them anyway. You could tell that even the butter that accompanied the bread had been considered. And the Chelsea Sidecar was like a lovely gin-margarita hybrid.
Will definitely return for a delicious meal, we might just be a little clearer on the order to bring them out next time.
Fantastic and imaginative food - who knew steamed greens could be so tasty? - in a lively restaurant. We enjoyed the sharing dishes which were many and varied even for us as Jon meat eaters. Staff were attentive and informative.
The restaurant setting itself is nothing to write home about but this is more than made up for the simply sublime food.
We would definitely return (though not too often because it’s probably c50% more expensive than other places nearby) and recommend to friends.
Perilla was very good, a well balanced set menu that was good value. Service was pleasant, efficient and helpful but we were still waiting for our first drinks after we’d finished the first course. Later we were served beers that were warm. I would rate the food very highly but drinks service was iffy.
My, husband, son and I had Sunday lunch at Perilla and it was absolutely delicious. One of the best I've ever had.
There are spots of both good and great at Perilla. A friend and I went for their Sunday lunch - and it started with great. Delicious, fragrant sourdough toast with a creamy butter that tasted of melted toffee - heavenly. A starter of mussels was as good as you'd get in the Mediterranean - plump, juicy mussels in a broth that was the perfect combination of light and creamy. Our mains, however, were more good. There was a lot of "wet" - hoping for an original version of a Sunday roast, I definitely found the originality. But a main of chicken with (delicious, pungent) Bernaise sauce was accompanied by some tasty roasted onions, and a baked dish of potatoes and mushrooms that were cooking in a delicate broth - all dishes being, well, very wet. No dry potatoes or starches to mop up any of the juices, and the thinly sliced and layered potatoes were slightly undercooked and kept a raw crispness. Still - the starters were heavenly, and the main a tasty affair, if textures and consistencies can be thought through slightly.
Good food but inconsistent service. Several times we had to ask for cutlery, drinks that we’d previously ordered. Staff were all very friendly and warm, just a little busy. We were a group of six so only had the option of a set menu which are portioned very small. Deserts came and they essentially served one desert between two people which is odd (three deserts though but even here the ice cream desert was just two between six as they forgot one!?)
If there is anyone in London putting on a plate more inventive delicious food than Ben then I don't need to know because I am so very happy just to come to Perilla whenever I can when he is in the kitchen.
All-round exceptional experience - food, service, atmosphere, concept
