Great food. Great wine
As always, great service and ambiance. The tasting menu is amazing value for menu, innovative and fun. Great wine selection and the bread is out of this world. A true neighbourhood gem!
Great restaurant. Innovative food. Very friendly. Portions a little small for the price
Food was exceptional and fantastic standard. All courses of the set menu were brilliant. Only caveat was that we had a c30 min gap between a couple of courses and so flow of the meal was broken up.
Beautiful food and lovely atmosphere - and the chocolate tart is gorge! Thanks Perilla :)
Well done Ben Marks & crew!
Every aspect was great. Will be back
Arguably the best Sunday lunch I have ever had. The beef and roast potatoes were absolutely delicious. Service was excellent as well. Can't wait to return :)
Innovative British cooking with a nice ambiance. The set menu excellent, the wine pairing could be more consistent but overall a great place to eat outside central London.
Food was so tasty! We liked that they didn't bring it all out at the same time as it gave you the opportunity to appreciate and enjoy each dish. Great cocktails too.
Incredible food and wine, will definitely be back
A really excellent and imaginative meal. Unusual and exciting flavours without silky exaggerations. However - and a big however - it took far too long to serve the 5 course set menu. The gap between the two ‘main’ courses was so long that we almost lost our appetites to continue. This is a genuine blemish at a very fine restaurant.
Super food and the best dessert I have ever had in my life!
Excellent staff, lovely laid back ambience and top cooking by Ben!
Absolutely smashing, did not disappoint! Incredibly creative and well executed food, balanced brilliantly with friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere. We have already booked a return sitting to bring our friends! Very easily, our favourite restaurant in London.
Outstanding! Will definitely come back.
Outstanding food and overall experience. Staff is very lovely and welcoming.
Was a very memorable meal. Definitely coming back to thos beautiful place.
Amazing food, totally worth the price! Would highly recommend & look forward to going again.
Went for the set menu but found a lot of the dishes to be neither here nor there. Restaurant was nicely decked out & ambience was good. Staff were a bit neglectful. Often found myself trying to make eye contact for a good five minutes before just flagging someone down.
Fantastic as always..Love this place..super tasty food, great friendly service.
A dinner to remember, would highly recommend the tasting menu. Also lovely service, great ambiance.
Great food and service. Lovely ambience
A bit hit and miss. Some of the food was outstanding, including the onion soup and the mussel bread. The puds were a little disappointing, however, although the peanut crust on the chocolate pudding was great. The only thing that needs to be addressed is that two of our dishes came on badly chipped plates - not really acceptable in a restaurant of this calibre.
We booked here after watching Ben on Great British menu and we were not disappointed. Seaweed sourdough is a MUST! and the glorious butter that comes with it! Could’ve ate a few portions of that! So we ordered the burnt onion soup , green salad, skate, octopus Bolognese, iberico pork and the gurnard, then dessert was the herb sorbet and the chocolate & peanut tart! Honestly outstanding!
We LOVED this restaurant, it was chilled and comfortable, the background music was great, the team were nothing but friendly and helpful and the food - wow! I especially remember the burnt onion soup served in a scooped out onion with hazelnuts and the sourdough bread with caramelised butter. All delicious, and as for the custard tart dessert, all I can say is - go and sample it yourself, you will love it.
Delicious food in an unfussy and relaxed setting. The set menu is extremely good value at £40 per head for 5 courses. The burnt onion soup was the highlight for me.
Excellent food which is definitely worth the money. Staff were lovely and attentive. Would definitely go back again
Was excited to go when Ben Marks talked a good plate on GBM - the reality for us (4 foodies) on the night was disappointing. Burnt Onion soup, overpowered by the many hazelnuts added, such that it wasn't oniony at all. A cod dish that only contained homeopathic amounts of cod. A chicken and chorizo stew that wasn't a stew (3 bits of chicken, topped with 3 stuffed Padron peppers, served with short rations of broth).
The bread was nice.
Perhaps it's about expectation management - but the titles of the dishes fell way short of the promise.
Staff were young and enthusiastic, bartender and drinks were excellent and plenty of diners were clearly happy on the night - but we were all underwhelmed and a bit sad that the promising chef (cooking on the night) thought this was up to standard.
After having seen the chef Ben on The Great British Menu and having passed by this restaurant many times I decided to chance it for my wife's birthday dinner. My expectations were very high and they exceeded them in every way. From the excellent service throughout (knowledgable and engaging) to the cocktails and wine choice and of course the food. Nothing is quite as it seems, everything has a twist but these do not detract from the banging flavours and simple, elegant presentation. I won't tell you much about the food except to it is the best meal I've had for a very long time and the herb sorbet is extraordinary. Make the most of Ben being in the kitchen while you can before he hits the heady heights of executive chef overseeing an empire. Thank you all for an amazing EXPERIENCE!
This was the best meal I have eaten this year. Really inventive interesting food. The burnt onion soup and the greens and morels were standout dishes for me, with the gurnard and gooseberries and Chocolate and kelp tart a close second. The bread and butter was also some of the best I have ever eaten in a restaurant. Great Service. Elevated to high above the status of what I expect from a neighbourhood restaurant.
We had a really beautiful evenings, it was a really lovely experience. We did the set menu which was perfect, well thought out and everything tasted fantastic. The decor and menus were very tastefully done. The service was informed and attentive. Wine list was also very original and the two bottles we had were excellent. This is now one of my new favorite restaurants.
Even though the waiter forgot the drinks order, the service was good overall and nice and informal. Unfortunately for us the tasting menu was a complete let down. The amuse-bouches were nice and so was the bread. Hazelnuts were added to the onion soup which completely overpowered its delicate flavour. We could hardly taste the fish in the fish course just vegetables and loads of salty flavours. The next course was chicken in a chorizo broth topped with three padron peppers. The broth was overly salty and the peppers were filled with a garlic cream which completely overpowered everything else. The desserts were a let down too - medicinal tasting sorbet and an extremely salty salted caramel cake. I expected so much more from this restaurant...
Unnecessarily complicated food. Tried the set menu: the onion soup was delicious and imaginative but everything else was just okay. It was expensive £44 per person without drinks and the place lacked of ambience. Service was great. Overall, mixed feelings.
Inventive cooking without going overboard. Excellent wine list. Excellent attentive and pleasant service from everyone on the team. Simple room but comfortable.
Beautiful, rustic neighbourhood gem with delicious, creative dishes! Had a super lovely birthday dinner at Perilla with my friends!
Our absolute favourite restaurant! Never disappoints. Wonderful!!!
Outstanding in every way. The dishes are small so you can choose a number, tapas style, and/or try one or two and see how far your appetite can take you.
we sat at the bar (only 2 of us) which was great as you get the buzz of the kitchen and see Ben finalise each dish.
The chocolate dessert may look normal but tasted anything but.
All outstanding, no dish was a disappointment and the fish in particular was fab.
Utterly delicious meal with friends - can’t wait to find another excuse to go
Great value tasting menu.
Full of flavour.
Nice relaxing place for a sunny day.
Very good, innovative and full of ideas without being unnecessarily challenging. Simply delicious while very unusual.
