Fantastic food at the Peter Street Kitchen. A new experience at first, adjusting to a menu with both Japanese and Mexican influenced small plates and signature dishes. However, the concept works brilliantly and the quality of food was outstanding. Great service from the staff - very friendly and knowledgeable without being overbearing or too fussy. And a lovely fit-out - we ate at lunchtime and it felt light and airy, with an air of quality that makes this feel special. But I can also imagine soft lighting and a more dinner-like atmosphere in the evenings. I'll definitely go back. And I really like the look of the raised table for 8-12 people with the centre-table fire feature! Well done PSK - nice to see a skilful new concept for Manchester executed really well.

Love this place, will definitely be back again. Food was fantastic, amazing flavours. Great service with food (drinks a little slow) and DJ playing a set in middle of restaurant was a great vibe.

Japanise and Mexican!! Never!! Well I’ll tell you it was first class, no faults to find. Only one thing that it’s not a place for big appetites... unless you’ve plenty of cash ..,

Nice venue, cool vibe, when I went it was fairly quiet. I found the food quite uninspired for the price. Tempura prawns we not the lightest tempura batter (and if you told me they were from a packet I’d believe you) but came with a nice wasabi mayonnaise, crispy Salmon salad needed a bit more work to make it interesting , tuna and truffle tacos tasted like smoked salmon on a dorito. The smoky cherry negroni was presented to me after the food arrived as there were issues with the smoke, there was so much ice in the glass the preserved orange didn’t touch the drink and it lacked the bitterness a Negroni really needs.

Not at all did this meet my expectations. I was recommended by a client at work, however felt the food and service was very poor. We raised our concerns with the staff however our comments seemed to be overlooked. I spent £150 which I did not feel comfortable in paying. The decor and bar area was great, bar staff also excellent but our dining experience was a disappointment.

My food had a bad taste, the plate design was very poor. I refused the food because I could't eat it.
I was charged for the food which was very expensive.
The waiters are pretty "pushy", actually we didn't find anything to be recommended.

It was my daughters birthday and we had booked online yet they seemed surprised when we arrived. There were only two other tables seated at the time and yet they made mistakes over the order and were extremely slow in delivery .I had heard great reviews from friends but the set lunch option choices were nothing other than average.

Delicious food, the unusual mix of Mexican and Japanese worked really well, very friendly and welcoming staff who couldn't do enough for us. Location was good for us as we had limited time before a show at the Palace.

We were excited to visit peter street as the concept sounded perfect for us. Japanese / Mexican

We was taken straight to table, no option of having a drink at the bar prior. The atmosphere was none existent and felt like a waiting room.

The price to quantity ratio wasn’t an issue to us as we expected to be wowed by flavour and taste.

After receiving the Nacho starter we knew that this wasn’t what we was going to get (the wow factor) we received a small bow of stale tasting Doritos absolutely covered in chilli powder and a small bowl of what tasted to be like supermarket guacamole.

Everything that followed seem to of had the same treatment. Chilli powder. The group as a whole like spicy exotic food but this was next level cover up taste.

One meal was removed from the bill as we informed the waiter of how it was and let him know that none of it was good and that it wasn’t his fault but we wasn’t pleased. He proceeded to make a recommendation and bring us a different dish. This came and was the exact same taste.

The whole experience seemed to be massively rushed also and we had dishes coming at us in rapid time. Almost as if they wanted the table back even though the place was empty.

Before they cleared the table we asked for the bill as we was wanting to bring the experience to an end ASAP.

The bill arrived with the gratuity tip already on, we deducted this and paid the bill and left.

An overall terrible experience and massive let down on what we expected.

Went on Saturday with my then boyfriend now fiancé. Now, already when I was making the reservation I told them I wanted to be somewhere private because it was a big night and they gave us the best corner table. We went for their tasting menu (6 courses) and every single one was different, the presentation was a million bucks and they were so delicious and unusual flavours as well - Genmaicha ice cream was amazing and I will try to replicate their wasabi cream dip at home. Our waiter Mark and the rest of the staff were great too, never had to ask for anything and the service was swift and not much of waiting between dishes. Mark saw I popped the question and we got complimentary glasses of champagne and mochi ice cream balls and he seemed genuinely happy for us. If you want to take someone special somewhere really nice you can’t go wrong with Peter Street Kitchen, our night was amazing and we won’t forget the experience.

Great food and service, we went on a Monday lunchtime and it was quite quiet - I reckon it would be livelier in the evenings. That's not a complaint, just an observation.

The food at Peter Street Kitchen is absolutely gorgeous, there is no doubt about that, however I would say that to dine here you need to be pretty rich! I left the restaurant hungry as I genuinely couldn't afford to order more food. Spending 130 pounds on a meal and then getting a small takeaway pizza on the way home is not a good thing! I paid 10 pounds for, and this is not an exaggeration, one single chestnut mushroom and a sliver of shiitake mushroom wrapped in a leaf swimming in a sauce (which was stunning by the way), but still it was a mushroom for 10 pounds. Some things were better value than others, for example I had the smoked tuna tostadas for 7 pounds, they were amazing and not too bad value for money. Cocktails are amazing, service was amazing, and food, taste wise, is amazing, unfortunately I am just not rich enough to eat here properly!! :(

Food is always amazing here. I am very fussy with fish, never mind raw fish. Yet, it's the main things I like on this menu. I really crave and recommend the tuna tacos. The service was brilliant. Very friendly, and happy to help with any requests. Cant wait to go back, definitely favourite restaurant. Highly recommended.

We expected this restaurant to be amazing and had heard good things so were surprised when the food came for the selection we ordered it all tasted the exact same. We ordered off both menus but it is as though every dish is made with either chilli and too much lemon juice or tonnes of paprika. Every single dish was too lemony and too spicy, none of us could finish one dish between us. It was so repetitive and there wasn’t one dish (out of the twelve we ordered) that we would order again. It was a disappointing visit with no stand out food at all. The actual restaurant itself and the staff are lovely and really attentive it’s just such a shame about the food.

The food was far too expensive for what it was. The tempura crab was really just breaded crab, really disappointing. The beef tostados tasted like barely cooked mince, and the mushrooms were just cooked it soy sauce. The staff were lovely and a credit to the company.
