About Pho & Bun
Building on our experience at Viet Eat Holborn, Viet Eat Pho & Bun was created in October 2015, with a new concept that aims at revolutionising the offering of Vietnamese street food in London.
Pho & Bun is located on the popular Shaftesbury Avenue, adjacent to both London China Town and Soho, and minutes away from many West End theatres, including Queen’s theatre – home to the famous Les Misérables. Pho & Bun carries a new, out-of-the-box design that creates a cosy and comfortable dining environment with distinctively Vietnamese features.

Pho & Bun Ratings and Reviews
I booked pho and bun for a birthday dinner for two and it was brilliant, the staff were really attentive and friendly and the food was amazing. We both had the 6 course tasting menu which is more like a selection of starters (served on one plate) followed by choice of main and dessert. We thought it was great value for money but the drinks were quite pricey, especially the cocktails which where tiny. But overall great experience and I would go again.
The place itself is slightly manic but the food justifies the patience needed when it is particularly busy.
The downstairs has a truly authentic feel to it, possibly too authentic at times with the chaos but it is small and popular, this is the price to pay.
The food is very tasty, with a wide array of offerings that leaves the decision of pho or bun the most difficult choice of the night whenever I visit.
The pho is flavourful, moreso than most I have tasted in London, and the buns, whilst slightly not the smaller side, are packed with flavour and great for those not so used to these little delights.
This was my 4th visit, excellent food at a great price. I would recommend the calamari cooked really well.
The prawn bun which is milky soft and chewy but melt in the mouth and the tender beef pho.
They also do cocktails which are priced around £6.
You will not be disappointment and you will always leave full up and satisfied.
Their Bao burgers are so yummy! The food came out quickly and they do great tasting menus where you get 2 starters, a main and a desert plus a drink. I think they could improve a bit on their deserts as they were a bit weird tasting but the rest of the food is top notch. I will be back :)
Whist the food, service and ambiance were great, one thing to bare in mind is that when using the OpenTable app, a booking was not actually made with the restaurant.
I received confirmation by OpenTable that the booking had gone through, but when I got to the restaurant they didn't have my details despite me showing the email.
Nonetheless, they sorted the issue pretty quickly and all was resolved.
The tables are very very close together so much so that you could hear conversations of each other. The starter platter was good and sufficient to share with another. However the main meal which was a chicken curry was cold and the vegetables on the side tasted like it was about to go off. Would I go again... no, there are so many choices a few doors down, it’s certainly does not deserve a second visit.
Service was very inattentive. Food was mediocre. After expressing our disappointment with the food (the server did ask... long after we had finished) we were offered something off the menu to make up for it. Food was very salty but it took a very long time to get water refilled.
The food was mixed; some dishes were really good, such as the mango salad and fish curry, others are disappointing, such as the burgers.
The deserts are too coconut-centric, so if you do not like coconut you are limited to one option, but if you do like coconut the desert menu is great.
Wait staff friendly
We sat in the basement room and it was absolutely freezing as they had a problem with one of the fire exits, so a constant stream of cold was coming down. That wasn't the best of starts but the staff were very apologetic and tried as best they could to resolve the issue. The food was really tasty; between the two of us we had one of the pho and one of the bao burgers (so both pho and bun) and enjoyed them both. The burgers are pretty small so ensure you have some sort of starter otherwise you'll still be hungry afterwards - even with a side order of fries.
