I believe this to be one of the nicest places in the North End. Four of us try a different restaurant in the North End every month. None of us could remember being at Piccolo Nido before but once we got there we remembered it was one of the first we went to years ago. We should have come back sooner! My friend had his heart set on a particular dish that was not on the menu. The owner worked what he called "a miracle" and gave him exactly what he wanted. Pretty cool. Everything was delicious. We will definitely remember this place and will be back soon.

Love this spot - a block off the main strip in the North end but don’t let that deter you from going. Food is fresh and delicious served by a warm and friendly staff. Pino is a wonderful host!

Very graciously received although our on-line reservation had not been received. Were so very lucky to visit on a night when Eggplant Parmigiano was offered! Hosted a very dear friend from out west, who loved this experience of our North End.

We live within walking distance of the North End and have been to many restaurants in the neighborhood, but this was our first visit to Piccolo Nido. It certainly won't be our last! The setting has plenty of North End charm, but it is refreshingly removed from the crowds on Hanover Street. We shared the Porcini Ravioli to start, and then had the haddock (catch of the day) in a lemon/white wine sauce, and the Veal Valdostana. The porcini ravioli was absolutely delicious (our favorite), but the fish and veal were excellent as well. The atmosphere was just right, and the acoustics of the room were such that it was possible to have an ordinary conversation without shouting. Highly recommended, especially if you want to be able to enjoy a quiet dinner for a date or special occasion. Looking forward to our next visit.

9/27/19, I had dinner there with my wife and cousin’s in from CA.
Nice quiet restaurant in North End, the Owner /Pino was very gracious and friendly. Our waiter- Michele ( Pronounced- Mik-Kay -Ley) was friendly and attentive.
Dinner was good (basis italian meals ) and Eggplant Parm was fantastic (recommend) !
A good value for your money.
Very quiet setting.

Came into town before leaving on a cruise and was looking for good food in a quieter setting as one of our party members is hard of hearing. The food was fabulous, the owner/chef charming, and we could actually have a discussion. Will absolutely go back the next time we're in town. Thanks so much for a wonderful evening.

Piccolo Nido.. the little nest.. was fantastic. Great service including a visit from the gregarious Chef Pina. Veal pizzaola, veal marsala, farfalle with mushrooms and a linguine with scallops, shrimp, clams were all delicious. Skip the crowds on Hanover and enjoy an authentic Italian meal.

Always my favorite North End restaurant and has been for many years. Food is consistently excellent. Not an extensive menu but a nice mix of dishes. You can tell when the owner is there every night insuring everything is as it should be! Pino is the best.

Piccolo Nido is a neighborhood gem in the North End. This is a perfect spot for a quiet dinner with good Italian food. Most of their pasta is homemade and both the Regina pasta dish and the spaghetti were very good. We appreciated that they provided freshly grated parmesan for us to add on our own and left it at the table. The service was attentive but never intrusive. And we were able to have a nice conversation since the place has good acoustics and isn't noisy (sometimes difficult to find in Boston.) Great place for a date.

We came to celebrate a graduation and our party was large—11 people. They handled our group well— food arrived at the same time; the ambiance was great, and while the restaurant was fairly busy, it was not noisy. I highly recommend.

Food was good. Service was adequate. Small restaurant so noise level was a bit elevated but not bad. Does not offer a full bar just wine and beer. Definitely a locals restaurant which meant it was off the main drag. Very traditional Italian so give it a try.

From the moment we arrived & got a friendly greeting from the owner, this restaurant shined. The service was attentive but not hovering & our waiter was a total pro. The food was spectacular - a simple dish like a linguine with garlic & oil first course stood out which set the tone for the main course. The veal Marsala was delicious & the linguine with clams which 3 of our party ordered was amazing. We celebrated my parents anniversary & had a celebratory bottle of Prosecco so the restaurant knew why we were there. The owner & entire staff brought out a tiramisu dessert with a candle at the end of our meal & presented a gift certificate for the dollar amount matching the number of years they’ve been married. Wow! We didn’t ask for the dessert & what a thoughtful gift for my parents. They really made it a special day for all of us. We can’t wait to go back!

I have been coming to Piccolo Nido fir over 20 years. I value its quiet off the beaten path location and simple, honest, tasty cooking. (I love the gnocchi.) i can’t ever recall a wait for a table if I’ve gone on the spur of the moment. I’ve never experienced Pino as anything other than warm, gracious, and welcoming. I’ve dined at pretty much every restaurant in the North End and this is where I choose to keep coming back to...whether as a party of two or my wife’s 60th birthday with 12 of our dearest friends in tow. Don’t believe the few haters...this is where to go to eat and actually be able to hear yourself talk. Highly recommended!

We loved this small restaurant for its comfortable seating area, gracious service, and delicious food. The mushroom ravioli was especially memorable. We chose the restaurant because it's quiet and indeed it turned out to be the perfect place to talk and catch up with friends. The owner was warm and friendly and we loved chatting with him.
