We really enjoyed our meal at PICNIC. The restaurant is small but it makes for an intimate dining experience. Service was attentive and friendly, maybe a little over zealous. We had the bread and olives, octopus, beef croquettes, and cauliflower. Food was delicious but we felt each dish was lacking a little something. Octopus needed an acid component as did the cauliflower. We eventually asked for lemon slices and it added so much to the cauliflower dish (we had finished the octopus). Beef croquettes needed a touch of salt, the beef itself was under seasoned and it’s flavour was killed by the mustard. All in all we enjoyed our experience and would definitely return.

Best place to get a downtown Toronto hip type experience in Orillia. Few dishes could use some more flavour/spice like the clams for example; Other dishes are unreal like the duck confit, or the manchego and mushroom grill cheese. Will dine again.

Always a good time at Picnic! Super friendly staff and nice casual/comfortable ambiance. Must haves are the oyster, potato pancakes and the cheese/Charcuterie & house made bread. They just rolled out some new menu items this week (which they do frequently) and the scallop ceviche is AMAZING. Cannot wait to come back and have it outside with warmer weather and a glass of Quayles. 15/10 everytime !

Went here for my birthday last night because my usual The Common Stove was closed, and I'm so glad it was! All the food we had at Picnic was INCREDIBLE, but especially the oysters and the mushroom and manchego grilled cheese, drool-inducing. The ambiance was great and we felt like we were in a cute little tapas place in Spain. I even ordered another round of oysters for dessert LOL. I highly recommend if you haven't been, try it out you won't be disappointed!

An evening of small plates (tapas), really good wine (try their feature - even just to talk wine with a server who knows her stuff!) and great beer at the picnic table near the wine display. Our final plate was the 'wildcard' decided by our server. She nailed it with fois gras and cherries on pumpernickel. Favourites were oysters, the focaccia with butter and radish, potato pancakes and...well...everything else.

We were there to see our grandson Jakob Pearce perform. We hadn't been to Picnic before and we weren't expecting anything special and were very pleasantly surprised. I loved the ambiance...so relaxed and so much to look at. The food was terrific, Our waitress was extremely friendly and very, very good at her job. We also got friendly with some of the other patrons so it was terrific all around. We will definitely be back to try other things on the menu. Thank you for a great afternoon. Heather

We had an amazing experience for my mothers birthday. I’ve been to Picnic before but my family had not tried it yet. Some of my family have diet restrictions, everyone was able to find something delicious. We all enjoyed the food and had wonderful service. My favourite items are; the Spanish jamon, duck confit, and potato pancake. The server brought my mom a basque cheesecake for a birthday treat, she loved it. We will all definitely be back :)

My boyfriend and I stopped in here for lunch on our way to Horseshoe and it was beyond amazing! The food was incredible and the vibe/entertainment was perfect for a Sunday afternoon. We ended up getting a few tapas (Mushroom and Manchego, Potatoe Pancakes, and Duck Confit) and they were out of this world!! Definitely coming again whenever we are up in this area again! Highly recommend!

We were given the table nearest the window...and furthest from others - so right off the bat, we were happy. Then, once the food arrived, it was so tasty and different...that we were enthralled with the place. Couple all of that with great service, and we gave just about 5-stars for everything. way to go, PICNIC!!

Great food- we went for 1/2 price tapas and the cost value could not be beaten! We particularly enjoyed the house focaccia bread, mushroom manchego sandwich, and potato pancakes. The cocktails were boozy and delicious. We'll definitely be back!

Went for scotch tasting night. Simon was great. Very knowledgeable. We got the "let us feed you" tapas and chicken pot pie. Everything was delicious, staff very friendly. Will go back and highly recommend.

My girlfriends and I needed a good night out and we were trying to find a nice restaurant in downtown Orillia. We came across Picnic. SO happy to have chosen this spot. The ambience with the Latin music playing, the amazing service and the unique dishes served made the whole experience memorable. Thank you to the owner, our server and the chef!! Bravo!
