   Really enjoyed our meal here. The food is really nice, some delicate flavours there. The service was friendly and attentive without being overboard. The ambience is very relaxed which is very welcome as good food shouldn't always mean posh atmosphere.

   They catered for all dietary needs - there was a vegetarian and a tree nut allergy in our party . Each course was deleicious and the paired wine was lovely too . We enjoyed all the individual tastes and original ideas and not choosing from the menu - just what we needed at the end of a long day ! Dish after dish brought out to you and described . It was VERY expensive and maybe not that great value for money but a great experience !

   Wonderful birthday celebration: thank you to everyone at Pidgin that made it special! The ratings I’ve given are based on my experience as a coeliac, and recommendations given re: wine to accompany our menu(s). The gluten free menu substitutions were kinda underwhelming, so I experienced a fair bit of FOMO, as my companions were clearly loving every single course of their menu. Such is life post a coeliac diagnosis: and I do understand the challenge all the food preferences these days present for a chef. The one course where I could eat the same as everyone else was amazing. Our table agreed that a sommelier would have taken our night to the next level and made the menu. It was only when we chose our 3rd bottle ourselves, that we finally felt we had landed on something that complimented our menu. We had a great night: unfortunately I can’t write more about the normal menu to balance this review. I would encourage you to go and experience it for yourselves.

    Exceptional food failed by cursory staff. Had wine pairing and wines were reeled off in unintelligible fast delivery. Didn’t give us an opportunity to ask any questions or engage with us at all. Music too loud. Overall impression was waiters disinterested. Female member of staff was at least pleasant. Male totally needs to work on his front of house skills! Curt and unapproachable. Disappointing when you are having such a fine dining experience.

    We went to Pidgin for my husbands birthday. It is small place but manages to be both cosy & stylish. The staff were friendly and professional. The food was exceptional. We had a fantastic time.

    For the price point, or even half the price point. It doesn’t even compare to some of its peers. Bland flavours, strange stale textures, small portions. Felt like we were ripped off. The venison Ragu was tasteless, not too dissimilar to the mince and gravy innards of a school ‘ crispy pancake’ The goats milk poached butternut squash tasted almost like polish. Polish seemed to be a flavour that appeared in a few of the courses, sort of mr sheen crossed with that orange cleaning product. Chocolate sponge was dry as was the second chocolate dessert. Asides from the food, the finer touches that a restaurant that dares to mention Michelin recommended or starred were all missing too. The hand was in the bathroom boasting a huge £1 Poundland sticker for example, doesn’t compare to the aesop that the likes of brawn and Leroy offer up ( at a fraction of the meal cost) All in all, very disappointed.

    10 courses for ~£65 - great value, and all high quality and delicious! We left feeling very full, the courses were well spaced and we didn’t feel rushed. Great service, we’ll definitely be back.

    We had very high expectations but unfortunately it did not live up to it. Food took a really long time (we were there for well over three hours and had to ask for our final course twice), and didn’t seem overly innovative compared to other similar restaurants in the area. Service was poor. The waiters did not seem to really care about what they were doing, unfortunately. Overall, it was an okay dinner but not sure we will be going back.

    It’s a fantastic experience! The food is all delicious - every course ! And the pairing is worth it- as all the wine is great too ! The service is warm and helpful . It IS pricey so don’t expect it to be anything less than expensive !! (Saying that …The garlic Babca bread was a bit dry) …and whilst accepting that it’s going to be pricey I didn’t expect to be hurried out for the next sitting to arrive . But we will be back and have booked already !

    The experience was a food journey. Amazing flavors across a set of small plates from the fixed menu. /Chose the beverage pairing and that added to the experience. Highly recommend.

    Really enjoyed our meal at Pidgin for my partners birthday. We chose to add the wine paring which made it extra special. They also surprised my partner with a birthday candle on our last course which was a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend.

    Amazing food. Would have been nice to have the same waiter or someone to talk you through the food and wine a bit more. Really nice restaurant though, just would have been great to know a bit more about what we were eating and drinking!

    The food was excellent, very surprising and delicious. However I could not help noticing that the people on the table besides got a better cut on the meat dish (mine was actually hard to cut through all the nerves). I would have expected for a restaurant like this to have consistency across all dishes served. Otherwise, it was really good - definately experienced flavours I was not expecting. The ambience was really nice and chill at the beginnig but then grew to be a little too noisy. Excellent service.

    We attended last night for our friends engagement, which was asked twice about special occasions, however it was not acknowledged, which was such a shame. We had two bottles of white wine between the four of us, both were just left on the table, but with no wine cooler. The lady (who we later found out was the manager for the evening) rushed serving us and came across quite rude and dismissive. There was another waiter (who was fantastic) and he recovered it, however it was such a shame about her attitude and her lack of knowledge about the food! The food was let down by the service as we didn’t know much about the dishes. Therefore it definitely didn’t compare to anything like Lyles and other tasting menus we have been to. I think if we knew more about the food and had better service it would have changed the experience. We couldn’t discuss this with anyone as it was the manager who gave terrible service! Again, the gentlemen serving was great. It was sadly disappointing and we wouldn’t recommend to friends now sadly, as we wanted to go back with other friends in a couple of weeks, but we’ll now opt for somewhere else.
