Great place, attentive well trained staff. Good value for money. I’ll be back!
Brilliant from start to finish the brioche with brie was lush and did leave feeling bloated. Totally balanced. x
The restaurant is very very small. I was bumped into A LOT. But the staff were kind and repeatedly apologised. The food is stand-out. Every dish was inventive, balanced and beautifully presented. And very very delicious. Would say that portions could be ever so slightly bigger - I've been to lots of places with progressive tasting menus (Tredwell's, Lyles, Angelina etc) and these were definitely the smallest plates I've encountered. Cocktails were very tasty as well. The Bathroom deserves it's own special shout out - they've created this sort of thunderstorm ambient oasis out of a room the size of a broom closet. Shows what you can do with a bit of creativity! I'll be back!
In two visits, I cannot fault Pidgin. Food, drink, ambience and service all excellent.
Fabulous food, nice and cosy setting. It’s hard to recommend to a friend, as the menu changes each week. However, the quality of the food was outstanding, The creativity of the chefs and the format of the restaurant are definitely worth paying a visit.
Amazing food, great variet in the dishes. The red wine was the best I have had in ages, although cannot recall the name
Fantastic food in a lovely small but cosy setting. Great service with excellent knowledge of the food and wine.
This was our fourth time at Pidgin - our favourite restaurant in London. We are blown away every time. Already looking forward to our next visit, would recommend to everyone.

We had the set menu with matching wine. It was a treat to ourselves for our difficult year. It’s my partner’s favourite restaurants Worth every penny.
Disappointing experience. We had read so many excellent reviews from Pidgin that we went full of excitement and hope. Unfortunately the food did not live to our expectations. Even though it was a 9 step menu we left the restaurant quite hungry. From all those 9 dishes there were only 2 we were happy about and even on those there were elements that were not great. As the menu changes every week it's quite difficult to leave a review that could be useful for future customers. The prawn/yuzu/courgette was good, specially the prawn bisque but the way food was cut and presented in a bowl it was very difficult to eat with a spoon as every bit got stuck to the plate. The pork cheek was very tasty but the crackling was a bit chewy. The brownie was overcooked and it was more like a cake as even the center was sponge like...
Quite expensive for generally good, tasty but a little underwhelming food. Especially when compared to what you can get in London for the same money or less. The best course was the bread with brown butter.
This is one of the best restaurants I have had the pleasure of eating in. Staff were brilliant, food was mind-bendingly good. I loved it and can’t wait to go back. Definitely recommend the wine pairing, it really added to the meal.
A fabulous, inventive meal and fantastic, knowledgeable service as always.
Great place for an eclectic gastronic feast. Brave with some of their menu....so awesome for a foodie. Wine was rather delicious too!
Didn’t feel that the vegetarian options were that tasty. Didn’t feel it was good value.
Fabulous, would recommend
Been to Pidgin quite a few times and this meal was the best ever...superb. Visual inventive delicious food.
All good, but couldn't hear the waiter description of the plates due noise levels
Truly great food whose inventiveness is surprising but sadly quite a noisy venue.
It is so refreshing to eat in a restaurant where the emphasis is on culinary excellence , imaginative menu design, and a simple but so welcoming ambience
We come here every so often when we have something to celebrate and we are always very happy with our dinner. However this was my least favourite. My expectations were high (as always) but this time it fell a bit short.
Great experience! The food and staff were lovely. As some other reviews mention, the portions are small but there are 8 courses and food is rich with flavors so we left feeling full and extremely satisfied. We had a wonderful time!
Excellent food, a quiet bit expensive. Healthy as quantities are low. Wine not bad but expensive for the quality.
Truly wonderful experience - the menu, the staff, the ambience.
I fab restaurant that I would go back to again and again, innovative food without too much pretence
A casual setting, welcoming and far from intimidating unlike other fine dining/taster menu restaurants.
For me the wine taster is a must. Spectacular value, just note that the italic dishes on the menu are “snacks”.
The execution of each dish is sublime, the deserts weren’t my preference on this occasion but was able to appreciate the flavour combinations. The portions are small but the flavours are rich and intense. The staff are knowledgable and attentive, explaining each dish as it arrives.
For £100 each we had 4 courses 4 “snacks” and 5 glasses of wine. A great evening, could come every week and a new experience be served.
Had a fantastic meal here. Staff were friendly and attentive, the restaurant is stylish in an understated way, but the real star of the day was the food. Inventive without being challenging, all the dishes we had were ridiculously tasty and thoroughly enjoyable. The pace of the meal is very relaxed, which worked great as we had the paired wines and meant we never felt hurried and could enjoy the experience.
Well looked after, very pleasant staff, good service, very tasty and inventive food, would happily go back!
nice wine list too...
Second time visiting Pidgin and yet again the unique menu did not dissappint!
Have been wanting to come here for ages and finally we had a perfect meal at pidgin recently, the food was fantastic, and had such exciting mixture of ingredients. The waiting staff were knowledgable and friendly, the wine was fantastic (even though the girlfriend and I said we weren’t going to drink...whoops!) The ambience and atmosphere were spot on to, all in all a fantastic place to dine. What with the ever changing menu, I am sure we will be back! Thank you Pidgin for a lovely evening!
I love Pidgin. The food is outstanding, every time. This time the service was *extra* surly. I know what to expect from Hackney, but not a single smile? :-/
The food at Pidgin was incredible! Would highly recommend. It's a great size with a wonderful atmosphere and the bathroom feels like your in a storm! Unfortunately the service was a little underwhelming, either she was taking it incredibly seriously or perhaps had had some bad news that day. We tried our best to create rapport but it fell rather flat.
A really interesting menu with faultless service. Well done
Outstanding restaurant, great experience, delicious and creative food, highly recommended.
This was our fifth time at pidgin. It continues to be a delight every time.
Have eaten at Pidgin before but not for a couple of years. Still excellent the food is innovative and the service excellent. We had one diner in our party gluten intolerant and I mentioned this in my booking confirmation and she had several adjustments to the menu all planned into her meal to take account of this. No discussions on the night to disrupt what was my wife birthday party. We had a great evening.
Only one word describes this place......wow!! Amazingly tasty food, perfectly matched wine and a relaxed atmosphere.
It is the second time I am going to Pidgin. First time, I was extremely impressed by the quality and creativity of the menu. In fact, that is why I went back a couple of months later. Unfortunately the second experience was way less impressive. Food and menu was by no means bad, but nothing compared to the first visit. It is therefore difficult for me to say what the standard is. My take away is that quality varies, which makes it a good but not outstanding restaurant. One thing that did shock all of us at the table last time I went, was the very abrupt way they asked us to leave at the end of the dinner. It was a Saturday evening and it was indeed busy, but they basically brought our coats together with the bill and told us to leave asap. It really felt like they were kicking us out without any reason for it, we had been there for 2.5 hours and were about to leave anyway. It ended the whole experience on a negative note and left a bad taste in my mouth
Just brilliant, always a fantastic experience. Lucky us for having such a restaurant so close.
