Exceptional food. Great value. Nice ambiance. Will be returning.
Fab menu, lovely staff with good wine list. Food was great value for money and love the idea of a set menu that changes weekly. Lovely chilled place for a relaxed long and indulgent Saturday lunch
The food was absolutely delicious with an amazing mixture of flavours. The service was friendly and very informative. Fine dining in a relaxed and chilled environment. Thoroughly recommended, we will be back!
Overall all the dishes were great, interesting flavour combinations and nice presentation. We were just a bit surprised that most dishes on this particular weeks' tasting menu consisted of lamb (even the dessert which we didn't even touch :( - it was really strange to have a lamb fudge!), I wish it was a bit more varied. Also, although the padron peppers dish was tasty there was no information provided that it will burn your mouth and lips, the peppers were so so hot that their taste overwhelmed everything else there was on the dish (pity), we only recovered after 2 glassed of water or maybe more.
The wine selection was also good.
As the menu changed weekly, I would be interested to come back and try something new.
Maintaining its innovative cooking style in an informal and light environment.
The ingredients are identifiable and intensified within each dish. Highly enjoyable and
good value for money
Amazingly good and smart with the lamb declination up to the sweet candy. Smart wine list to. My favorite in London. @theparisbiglebowski
The service was painful. The poor servers kept screwing things up but somehow wouldn’t apologize. The food was sooo delicious. It was a weird experience.
All the food we had was experimental and interesting. The only thing that didn’t work for us was the lamb fudge. The slightly lower score for the service was only because the power went out for a few minutes. Otherwise we enjoyed the meal immensely.
Loved the courses and pacing. Appreciate that the staff is professional and not too fussy. Creative, gorgeous food that’s still accessible.
Pidgin is everything we imagined it would be and more, amazing food - so much thought and outrageously good ingredients make this one of the best value meals ever! Would definitely recommend for anyone with an open mind and adventurous palette.
The best pudding I’ve ever had in my life, and I don’t like puddings normally. Really successful balancing of flavours on all dishes, and nice additions like home made limoncello. One to return to for sure.
Amazing inventive a real culinary experience.. thank you
We loved our Pidgin adventure ... food is beautifully presented and delicious. Flavours are intense and punchy using creative combinations that surprise and delight.
Absolutely outstanding start to finish. We came here 4 years ago and loved it, and were delighted to find that it has gotten even better! Really really special food
Delicious food in lovely setting. Portions of the same course were a little inconsistent but wouldn’t stop me going again
My boyfriend and I visited Pidgin on Friday night for his birthday, overall we had a wonderful experience. The staff were super friendly and informative, we also loved the spa-like toilets. The tasting menu was great, our favourite dish from the menu was the fermented cabbage, we would've preferred to have only had the second pork dish (the first was unfortunately on the dry side). I would say that if you've got a big appetite like my boyfriend then you may be disappointed as the portions are on the small side, however they were fine for me! Thanks for a great evening, Pidgin!
Pidgin is the kind of place where you want to go back and back and back : the food is outstanding, the service is friendly yet not too intrusive, the wine suggestions are perfect and they always come up with some extra surprises for you. We were about to ask for the bill when they brought the 2nd desert (!) and then, a 3rd one with the bill... We will definitely be back !
Great experience, wonderful staff and was fed a few alternatives as requested due to dietary requirements that were great.
Great to have a special dinner. I went with my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday. I loved that there were so many courses and all explained on arrival. They don’t rush you to finish quickly so the dinner was 2.5 hrs long, we had time to enjoy the food, have a nice bottle of wine and talk, it felt so romantic! Also the food it’s delicious, very creative and with a great presentation.
What an impeccable restaurant. I love this place. Cooking is incredible. Menu design is innovative and the dishes are creatively, Perfectly balanced. Every time I go I am seriously impressed. They rotate the menu weekly which speaks volumes about the excitement and enthusiasm the staff of this brilliant establishment feel for creating incredible dining experiences. The cocktails are brilliant. They even go to the detail of making their own tonic. Every detail of this place is considered and thoughtful. Staff are excellent. Wine pairing is highly recommended but I promise you only need one pairing between two. They serve you hefty portions, I think around 4 / 5 small glasses of wine. So it's fine to ask them to split the pairing between two glasses. You would still get to enjoy the amazing wines, but also be left able to remember the evening! I love you Pigin!
What a treat. If you are looking for a true culinary experience and one filled with surprise and delight, this is it. This restaurant is both delicious and presents novel and interesting dishes. We came from NYC and wanted a coursed chef designed meal and we were so thrilled with this choice.
We had a lovely evening and enjoyed the experience overall however I would say the major let down was the lack of lock on the bathroom door. I appreciate that locks can break however when you are paying over £100 for a meal I don’t think it is much for a restaurant who only has one bathroom to ensure the lock is fixed before evening service begins. I didn’t appreciate being walked in on whilst using the bathroom- ruined the experience slightly! However the food was delicious and service otherwise was great.
Very good food some courses excellent others seemed to have too many ingredients and not trusting the quality of the ingredients to shine. Beverage accompanying the courses a little hit and miss as well not sure if would be better value just to choose a wine you like and have that.
One of the best meals and restaurant experiences I have had. Will be back!
Incredible food in a charming restaurant in Hackney. Had a lovely neighbourhood feel and the service was excellent.
Met and exceeded expectations
Beautiful food with fresh ingredients and a great selection of drinks. We really enjoyed our time and will definitely be returning!
Love the concept and the food was above our expectations. Really appreciated the explanation of the dishes and the care and detail out into creating then was clear. Will be back soon!
Phenomenal meal, staff absolutely killed it. The food was extremely focused and delicious. If you are in the area, you’d be stupid not to drop by. 10/10
Pidgin is an incredible value, a meal that is worthy of Michelin starred restaurants at an amazingly low price. The cuisine is imaginative, with clever twists in the choice of ingredients and the techniques, as well as the provenance of the food. I can only imagine that this is a labour of love for the team there. You'd never expect to find such a gem in a quiet neighborhood like that. And, on top of that the menu changes every month, with 6+ courses and amuse-bouches and dessert treats. Even the cocktails change. One time, they made an asparagus based cocktail. Delicious, unexpected, and an illustration of their creativity. How do they do it? I can't recommend this place enough.
This is my favourite restaurant in London. Every time I go here I get surprised at the level of the food they are serving, and the casual and friendly service adds to the experience. And their drinks before dinner are amazing, I just love their gin and tonic.
Excellent food, so much effort, thought and detail. Would go again and recommend to others!
Like perfectly crafted poems, every dish was a delight of unique flavour palettes that kept surprising. The great hospitality, the passion and knowledge about wine and the sunlit refined and welcoming interior, further complimented the sheer beauty of the degustation. Thank you for a truly memorable experience.
It's such an odd venue for a restaurant - in an unassuming street in Hackney. But the food is so inventive, the service so correct without being obsequious and the atmosphere so relaxed that it is truly a place that deserves to be ranked amongst the very best in London.
Amazing how Pidgin has consistently & for 4-years served inspired incredible food & wines - I have never had a bad meal or a corked glass there, it’s superb value for money, the staff & team are just total class & it’s also just a short walk up the road from me - Happy 4th Birthday.
Knowing the chef, we had high expectations. Those were exceeded early into the meal. The set menu and wine pairings make the experience easy and enjoyable. Tight space but not loud, great location away from the circus it can be in London.
We had been looking forward to our lunch at Pidgin. We were both very disappointed. The dishes tried too hard and the pork loin in particular looked as unappetizing as it tasted. The flavors were not balanced and did not work together. Perhaps who ever put the menu together had a bad week and next will be better.
We were served with no interest and were not even asked if everything was ok!
Exceeded our expectations. Every course hit the spot. Will definitely return
Fantastic food and laid back atmosphere. Service was attentive but not over the top.
