Pleasantly surprised! Vegetarian pies were great and perfectly executed. Lovely food and accommodating to kids
Pie, pie pie & scotch egg
This place has a comfortable atmosphere and lots of little funny jokes all around. The service was excellent and I really felt at home and enjoyed my experience there! The food was excellent, homely comfort food from the basic pies to the more fancy variations. So many side to pick from made it difficult to choose something! They also have a good range for those who are vegetarian, vegan, gluten free etc. Overall I had a great experience and was pleased when the bill came to how cheap it was for the amazing food!
Piebury Corner Kings Cross is an informal, fun place to eat. Friendly staff serve good quality food from a small but specialised menu in an interesting space in what looks like a refurbished former cafe.
My companion and I enjoyed the Steak & Ale and Venison & Ox Cheek pies with horseradish and mustard mashed potatoes plus peas and carrots - all totally delicious. We shared one order of red wine gravy and found that sufficient as the pie fillings were extremely succulent. With Camden Pale Ale available on tap and Bloody Mary on the cocktail list, we were both happy with the drinks on offer, and there were plenty more to choose from.
We ate before people began arriving at the end of the working day and could see that Piebury Corner becomes extremely busy, so would recommend booking to avoid disappointment. We would both visit again, and were also interested to see that Piebury Corner also operates as a deli that sells take away pies to eat hot and also to heat at home.
Every thing was fantastic, even though we were half an hour late (tube station closed) still had a table. If there is any small criticism portions not massive for the price.
Booked on the morning and confirmed on the way up from Ruislip. Got turned away on arrival as something wrong with the drains. No drink offered or compensation voucher!
Took adavantage of the meal deal with pie, mash, gravy & a drink for £15. Food was very tasty indeed along with excellent attentive service. Would use again next time in area.
Food is good but quite expensive for size of portions.
It was our meet up dinner after travelling to London for a friends hen party. Staff are really Accommodating very friendly, the food is great and everyone was really pleased with their meals, would definitely go again perfect fun Friday night feast.
Good place, nice food
Great pies and scotch eggs, as expected. An unpretentious spot in an increasingly upmarket area. Only downside was it took a while for orders to get filled (although baking a pie takes the time it takes!).
Really liked the atmosphere and that you could book for Saturday lunch. A fun, casual venue. Loved the whisky cider. The pies were smaller than I expected but packed full of meat so were very tasty. The mash tasted good but wasn’t quite hot enough on this occasion, though overall I really enjoyed the food. I would definitely return and thought it was a fab place to meet friends.
Great place for no frills food; would say that the chips aren't great so go for mash.
Excellent alternative to the swanky expensive places around Pancras Square or Granary Square. The pies are flavoursome, the venue has plenty of style and play good tunes, though as the evening went on it became rather loud. We went on a Friday night though. The lads were out.
Really excited to go to a pie shop, there aren't enough of them around. The choices also looked really interesting.
We were a group of 5, but it took best part of 40-45 minutes for our pies to arrive. I find this amount of time to wait not really acceptable, especially for a simple dish. What also annoyed me was that other customers arrived and ordered after us but got served their food before us, that really hacked me off.
When the food came, it was nice. My Steak and Stilton pie was tasty, but there was hardly any stilton in there for it to be described as such.
My friend ordered a hot sausage roll, and despite the 40-45 minute wait, it was served stone cold.
Had so much potential and i think we some tweaks it could be something i would return to and recommend, but based on this visit, i have to say give it a miss.
Too expensive for what it is - the pies are quite small.
After a visit to the British Library, we looked for a local meal which wasn’t a chain. Only five minutes from the library, the restaurant offered good food and good service. The beer was a little too hipster for us, but nonetheless it hit the spot.
Friendly staff, good value for money & great food & local beers & fab cocktails 😊
Had a very tasty meal here, pies were delicious and mash was smooth and creamy, veg to share could have been a slightly bigger portion but have no complaints. Staff attentive and friendly and A visit to the loo is a must although taking sometime to look and read everything might mean friends wonder if you’ve fell in! Near to kings cross and other transport, free parking bit far from here so a very convenient spot.
Piebury has become my "go-to" pie place whenever I am in London. The food is delicious and the service is always on par with a side of smiles...
This is an incredible place, which we discovered by accident, while searching for a place that would be able to seat us for dinner on New Year's Eve. We found them on Open Table, made our reservation and enjoyed one of the finest meals we've ever had. The pastry on the pies was incredibly flaky and flavorful as was the filling. Make sure to get an extra portion of gravy, which I almost wanted to drink, it was so good. Our servers were two young people who attended to our every need.
This will be a place we will visit again when we next find ourselves in Soho.
Lovely place with great food and staff, would hugely recommend
Casual, comfortable and fun environment. 9 of us met for a pre Christmas celebration. It was lovely.
Staff were so so lovely, good value and great pie!
Excellent pies. Definitely new Kings Cross. Just a shame the pies aren't named in the same way as at the original site.
Food was just ok. Not value for money. I would not rush back as £14 for pie/ mash and gravey (£1.75).
Very nice staff, went to celebrate brothers 50th and they were so kind and accommodating.
Amazing food and wonderful, friendly service! Highly recommend
Only tried the pies before, but the Scotch Eggs are great as well. Add a salad for a low carb option.
Excellent pie and really helpful staff! Made celebrating my birthday really good fun
an ideal lunch before visiting the Emirates or just good hearty food ona winters day
The food was undoubtedly delicious, but you pay a lot of money for the amount you get.
Tasty pies and good beer at sensible prices. Staff very friendly and good atmosphere conveniently near Kings Cross station
Piebury is a great find, scotch egg menu is a great touch and the pies are delicious. I would call it a posher Poe and Nash shop
A simple menu but they know what they want and should have credit for that.
It isn't a secret that I enjoy a pie, in fact, it is now a bit of a joke that when discussing a lunch or dinner venue my friend will suggest somewhere that does pie.
We went for a quick lunch at Piebury Corner before my sister's scheduled train from King's Cross, (delayed) and I would go again. The pie was tasty and no gristle the gravy jug was deceptively filled to accommodate my need for a good covering (there is a charge if more is required), the roast potatoes though were a let down. They tasted old and a bit rubbery - probably frozen, although Aunt Bessie's turn out pretty well at my gaff so I'm sure a chef could have produced something better.
The staff were pleasant, it was only the roasties that let this down. Originally, I was going to have chips but they were 'fries' with half skins. Not for me - I like my chips British style.
Traditional style has be re-created here in a successful way. Meals are no-frills but good quality and service prompt and friendly
Cool little place. Like that they have some decent guest beers on draft. The staff were great. Our server was a easy going nice guy. The only not v.good or outstanding point was the pie itself. I'm a big pie fan and liked that it was proper pastry all round pie (although quite small), but my steak & ale had a lot of sinew and tough bits in. I quite possibly got an unlucky one as the odd bit of meat was nice and chips were good. Scotch egg was fairly solid as were sides. Thanks.
Only thing that stopped the review being five stars is the toffee apple pie but apart from that excellent. Attentive staff. Chicken ham and leek pie was excellent. Music top notch. It’s not the cheapest place in Kings Cross but it’s better then the most of them. Spend that extra couple of quid and try Piebury Corner out.
Ice cream defrosted and refrozen, manager defensive rather than apoplectic, should have blamed surplier!
Lemon meringue inedible.
Pies ok, staff otherwise friendly
