Pig & Whistle Restaurant
Had a great time, the food was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. I would definitely recommend it and will definitely be going back.
The meal was very nice although we were not offered any bread rolls which was disappointing for those who had soup. overall it was a good meal.
After looking forward to the meal we were
The starters were small and expensive
My Partners lamb was lovely my John Dory was to firm and the portion was small
The staff were friendly and helpful
Great experience. Hospitality was amazing and food was very good. Definitely coming back again
We always have an amazing experience having dinner here! The staff are incredible the service outstanding and the food is always delicious.
Thank you Brendan and team for always making our evening delightful, Ashley had a lovely birthday dinner.
Whilst the food was very good, the service was extremely poor. We were ignored for the majority of the meal, starting from the very beginning when it took 20 minutes after seating to be given a menu, there was no eye contact from the waiting staff and we had a different server during every course. The food was good and if it were just for the food we would probably come back. The value has a poor score purely because it was Valentine's day and so the usual price hikes were in operation. The décor was nice, but the service left a bad taste and will mean we are unlikely to return.
Nice evening but room quite chilly which took the shine off
Fantastic food, friendly service and a lovely calm restaurant.
Fabulous place for a night out with fantastic food. Been several times always same high quality food and service. Will be back again soon 😋😋😋😋
Lovely staff and really tasty food.
The restaurant is cosy and nicely decorated.
Would definitely visit again
Warm and welcoming, service attentive and friendly. We had the sharing fish platter which was excellent. I had the cod and my husband had the lamb both were delicious it came hot, well presented and good size portions. For deserts we had the chocolate mouse with honey comb. We have travelled to many restaurants all over the world and this chocolate mouse was up there with the best. At the end of the meal we were given a little goody bag with marshmallows and choc biscuit squares nice touch. A little gem!!!
A dining experience outstanding in every way, particularly made so by the delightful owner Brendan and his charming staff. Thanks guys for making my birthday extra special!
Me and my husband had a delicious lunch, beautifully decorated pub in the countryside. We choose the Pork burger and cod and chips. Both were great. I’d highly recommend the cheesecake for dessert, it was fab.
This isn’t a cheap Restaurant, but the food is all freshly prepared and worth the extra cost.
One of the best roasts I’ve had out. Can’t fault the food, it was delicious! Sunday menu is a selection of roast meats and all amazing. Would definitely recommend.
I don’t normally write reviews but an overall great restaurant with great service - will be coming back
The Pig & Whistle is absolutely outstanding in all respects. Lovely venue, wonderful food and a creative and interesting menu. Service is great and you feel welcome and comfortable, with plenty of room between tables.
Great atmosphere and fantastic surroundings. Excellent staff and extremely tasty food.
Wow what a great experience we will be back
Very good food & friendly staff, wine a little on the expensive side.
A wonderful family weekend lunch in a most attractive and cosy venue. The food was excellent: a fine selection of interesting choices, beautifully presented and using high quality ingredients. Service was attentive and charming. We will be back!
Fantastic evening, couldn’t fault it. Would definitely return.
Fantastic food and customer service. Was highly recommended and did not disappoint.
Absolutely fabulous. Great food, wonderful service and lovely surroundings. Must be visited.
Was a great menu to choose from and friendly staff, definitely good value for money
wonderful food and service. would recommend to anyone
Our second visit and we were impressed again. The staff are friendly, accommodating and attentive, but not over the top.
The food again was superb, the starters so beautifully presented and great tasting to boot. I highly recommend the salmon and himself said that the scallops were the best he’d ever had.
The mains continued the theme, the steak was to die for apparently and my lamb rump was exquisite, both cooked to perfection.
For desert we had the sharing plate the chocolate mousse was to die for as was the honeycomb the pear poached to perfection the cheesecake so light and delicate, the lemon meringue, oooh I could carry on forever.
Definitely going to be returning in the near future.
Excellent food and atmosphere. Will certainly come back again. Definitely recommend.
50th birthday lunch
We had an outstanding meal at the Pig & Whistle and was truly looked after.
I would recommend this restaurant 100%.. a very good find.
Fresh food and great staff.
First time visit and what a gem. Would highly recommend to those who like to eat quality food with a twist. Have already made our next reservation
Fantastic Sunday lunch
Great food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere Thank you.
busy (allways a good sign ) but very friendly. good menu and excellent service. car park a bit potholed and restaurant could have been a little warmer, starters / deserts slightly over priced but mains excellent. Generally a worthwhile experience.
Great authentic British food served in rustic setting
Great food , very attentive staff, very relaxing atmosphere, never hurried a really enjoyable experience, we will definitely be back .
Very much enjoyed the food, however the room where we were seated was very cold and that made us slightly uncomfortable.
Really lovely meal - the food was brilliant, the service excellent and friendly, and good value to boot. If only we lived nearer, we’d be here a lot.
Took the family for a celebration and goodbye dinner, was really lovely
Fantastic New Year's Day lunch with a friend. A little pricey and one of the desserts was very small (cheesecake) but otherwise the food was excellent. A wonderful venue, would highly recommend.
We’ve eaten here many times and the setting is lovely. Normally the food is very good but we were very disappointed eating on a Sunday evening. We were not aware on booking that the Sunday lunch limited menu would still be in place in the evening and the menu was very limited indeed.
The Camembert starter was lovely but the roasts were pretty tasteless especially the mushroom wellingtons. The sticky toffee pudding was burnt and dry.
Service was also unusually poor too and it took over 10 minutes to even get menus. Brendan the excellent host wasn’t around and the whole thing felt like the end of a long shift. Such a shame.
