Pig & Whistle Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
It was my first time eating here with my family and I took the recommendation from Open Table. The lady serving us could not have been more helpful and she interacted really well with our two children.
She was very friendly and allowed us time to consider what we wanted to eat and drink.
There was not a children's menu but without asking she arranged for a smaller portfolio for my 8 year old son and reduced the price which was a lovely touch.
The food was very good and the adult portion sizes were very generous.
I would definitely re-visit and I have already recommended to friends to go there and eat.
This was a business meal to thank my team for their work. Food was excellent. Service and hosts were very friendly and they were attentive without being overbearing. We all thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The only minor downside was that the restaurant seemed to be in a state of refurbishment. However this did not detract from the wonderful evening we had.
We have been to the pig and whistle on several occasions and it has never let us down, you can relax ,your not hurried, friendly staff and attentive and great food, the decore is so nice candles alight in the evening and so many, the place is clean and very well presented I would have no hesitation in recommending the Pig and Whistle to anyone, I cant fault it.
This lunch with friends was the second occasion we were lucky enough to sample the delights of The Pig & Whistle. The ambience, service and of course , the food were, again, exceptional. Whilst not the cheapest Sunday lunch in the Chelmsford area it is, in my opinion, the best.
Had a fabulous time at our family birthday meal, can't praise enough.
All staff were super friendly & helpful with out being in your face or buzzing like flies.
Food was sensational, my lamb was so tender & flavoursome, not to mention the to die for roast potatoes!!
Loved every minute & can't wait to go again !
We came here on Sunday as a late birthday dinner for the Sunday Carvery and you are made to feel right at home from the minute you arrive. The food is amazing and the staff are friendly and professional. The Pig and Whistle has lovely decor and is very cosy. We will be most certainly coming back and most certainly coming back for the carvery.
Me and my boyfriend are long distance, so when he comes to visit we like to go somewhere special and we chose the pig & whistle. It did not disappoint!
The ambience of the restaurant is incredibly tranquil, romantic and upmarket yet cozy. The food and drink we're exceptional (definitely recommend the sharpish blue magic gin) and probably one of the best meals we've ever eaten. The service was impecable, all the staff we encountered were welcoming, the waitress had a chat with us when she was serving us and nothing was too much trouble.
Overall I am so glad we chose this restaurant as it made my boyfriend's visit absolutely perfect.
