Our flagship pub offers a 2 rosette modern pub menu with a twist.

Please not we are closed Monday & Tuesdays

Wednesday to Saturday as follows

Open from 10am our barista will be making a range of specialty coffee. From your classics to our weekly specials like egg coffee! Our in house baker will also be showcasing pastries & cakes, served until 3pm (No booking required)

Lunch is served 12 - 2.30

At The Pig, we think lunch should be lunch! Affordable & delicious. We change our menu fortnighthly but always offer a range of sandwiches & light mains. Showcasing our local ingredients and chefs skills as a baker and butcher. (No bookings required to come on in!)

Dinner 4.45 - 9.00

Our a la carte weekly black board menu showcases local season ingredients in a range of small & large plates. Booking is advised

Sunday lunch 12 - 4

Our famous sunday lunch is back. Plated roast with all the trimmings, alongside some season specials.

On holiday and booked table having read previous reviews. Food was amazing and staff very helpful and polite. Nothing was too much bother. Will definitely return if back in the area.

Booked a table at the Pig on the Hill for a birthday lunch for my mum who loves a roast dinner. Excellent food and service, good portion sizes with lots of meat, and always a bonus to have a restaurant that is dog friendly so we were able to bring our lurcher! She was appreciative of the meat portion sizes too after getting a few cheeky scraps! We were only visiting as it was near to where we stayed for a family weekend away so unsure when we’ll be back again, but will certainly try to remember for next time we visit Devon.

This was a lovely meal, a good quantity of food beautifully cooked and presented. It was so tasty. We had four generations eating and we all enjoyed it, from 3 to 84 year old.

A very warm welcoming atmosphere with absolutely wonderful roast dinners, one of the best roast dinners I have had in a long time, well worth a visit!

Our meal of Seabass and samphire with smashed new potatoes was exquisite. We have eaten at many of the top restaurants in Paris and this was as good.

All of our group enjoyed the different meals that were ordered and the staff were wonderful. I would thoroughly recommend this pub for the great food and ambience and we will be returning very soon.

The food was lovely and very tasty. I felt perhaps the menu was a little limiting for those who wanted a less fussy meal. However we did all enjoy our food and would recommend it. It is a little pricey. It had a dress code of smart casual, which was a little confusing as some turned up is torn jeans or shorts and t shirts, which I would say was not smart and extremely casual, and staff are not particularly smart. So perhaps lose the dress code if it doesn't actually apply. Staff very friendly and service was good.

Informed we had large dog-put on a tiny table for 2 with no room so dog was in the way and staff kept giving dog dirty looks as he was sat on floor. Seating felt more like a fast food outlet than a gastro pub. Starters okay but trout salad was dated. Mains are over priced for what you get- we had beef and pork and both tasted the same. Pigs in blankets reminded me of cheap Richmond sausages from supermarket. Brownie was more like a shop bought cake and apple crumble was not crumbly- crumble was like a cheeky gone off biscuit. Best part about the meal- the custard and the Devon cider. Better ‘chain’ roast dinners out there!
