The food wasn't good. Came for my favorite pieces but they have removed it from the menu and left us with poor quality ones
My partner and I had an early dinner at Ping Pong. The hostess was welcoming and dealt with our order quickly. Food tasted great too! Will be back :)
Most of the food was good, but the Shanghai pork dumplings were not up to par
Surprisingly good food and very friendly service
Genuinely fantastic, authentic food. Couldn’t fault it.
Ping Pong food is always reliable. On this particular trip the waitress spilt drink all over my partner's jacket and clothes. She was very apologetic and we understood it was an accident. What was nice was that the restaurant was very apologetic and was forth coming with compensation via a reduction in the bill or offering us dessert on the house if we wanted. We were in a rush so didn't opt for the dessert but appreciated they offered to reduce the bill without us having to ask. Thanks again for your service
Great place for groups since the quality and quantity match the price. The atmosphere was laid back for a Saturday night. The Soho location is definitely more lively if you are looking for a dj and more up-beat diners.
Great gluten free options and very friendly staff! The food was good, I do think some things did not taste as good for how much they charged.
Too noisy. We won't come back.
The staff in training should be... trained more before allowed onto the job? The person who waited on our table forgot to give us menus when we moved to a different table (as the original one was next to a super-loud party). We asked her for the menu but then she forgot to bring us a pencil. She then brought a pencil which was broken.
Food was delicious, no faults at all with the standard of the food.
Took us over an hour to receive one of the dishes we ordered, firstly were given the wrong dish to then have to ask two more times to finally receive the correct item.
Staff were really accommodating and discounted the bill because of the inconvencible.
Really affordable, especially the happy hour deal.
Would definitely go again.
Good place for Chinese food, can imagine the lower level being a better atmosphere than the entrance floor.
I ordered large plate katsu curry rice bowl and jasmine and lily tea pot. I must say it’s not worth the price. Food was okayish, not so remarkable and worth craving for. Staff were nice though and friendly. A good try to dine with but maybe not coming back again.
Great venue to share food with friends. The chocolate fondant dessert is recommended.
Food OK. Service miserable. Took long time to order. All waiters/waitresses in bad mood. Gave us what we ordered on the thrid attempt. Used to love PingPong. Surprised by the fall in the service and quality. This was defintely my final visit.
Second time we have dined here in the last month. Food quickly prepared and good quality, service was a bit erratic but a big table landed, so perhaps understandable.
The food and service was superb!
This isn't a 100% traditional dim sum, but a fusion with some different dishes. Not a vast selection & you won't find chicken feet, but everything is well cooked & presented and we will certainly be back.
Food and service was lovely as always and it is definitely value for money.
Great! Loved it.
Very unique form of dining, you have to fill in your own service card and then hand it to the waiters. I think this restaurant is a really fun idea, however may be better suited as a lunch place rather than a dinner place. Overall, I would recommend to friends as the food was really good and I like the concept of the restaurant.
Everyone came in just before 5.30 and the kitchen couldn’t cope. This shouldn’t be a surprise to a restaurant in theatreland particularly when the last booking time for a pre theatre dinner offer is 5.30! No designated waiting staff per table so if food doesn’t arrive nobody notices. Veggie rice came 20 mins after we had finished main course and it contained prawns! We were given free dessert but the restaurant was badly run. We have been to three other locations of Ping Pong which have been good so maybe this was a bad day, or maybe they need more training.
The staff and restaurant is very nice
Nice place, quick service, not a lot of music. Went on a Wednesday night and it was nicely quiet. The food if delicious.
Thank you for being very accommodating when our group number went from 6 to 9 people.
Food was great and service was brilliant
While the food was a good choice, the level of service and attentiveness to needs was severely lacking. We had to find the waitstaff whenever we needed something, they did not pay attention to the dishes piling up on our table, food came in waves and there was no room to put in down.
Poor service, average food
Have been here once before and whilst the food was good the service is shockingly bad, unfortunately it was the exactly the same. I don’t understand how waiting staff can ignore customers. I asked for water when we were seated and multiple times after but only got it at the end of the meal. They do seem to like talking to each other. One member of staff, who was dressed slightly differently, so I assume was a manager, not only had a permanent scowl on her face but also after nearly knocking out food over, spilling one of the drinks and getting the order wrong never so much as offered an apology. Surely it’s just courtesy. Anyway, chefs do a good job but won’t be rushing back here.
Really average food and terrible service. Staff was not attentive to any request
service was a little slow at times
Food was mostly very good but one of the large dishes came out late after 2 reminders - it was cold so had presumably been sitting there for a while. My elderly mother did not complain.
The waitress clearing the table dropped a dirty knife on one of our party and was unapologetic!
We had to ‘chase’ to order coffees and desserts.
Waitresses need to be much more customer service driven/friendly, smiley and helpful.
Chinese food? 🤔 never eaten a similar Chinese food in all of my journeys around the world!
Not many vegetarian options but what they had was very nice.
Birthday night with mates. Service could have been better, not very attentive. We ordered extra dumplings after we finished first course and they never came so we had to cancel. They weren’t apologetic and came across a tad annoyed! Everything else was perfect, great drinks, good quality food, and lots of fun.
I like Ping Pong however was disappointed with the Covent Garden restaurant.
Staff had no knowledge of my booking.
We waited for 20 mins for our drinks and entree to arrive only to find that half the order was missing. Staff were not very attentive, in fact I had to wave my arms around (only to be ignored by 2 members of staff having a chat about their weekend) before another lady came over.
We were not advised that portions came in threes (there was 4 of us) so when some dishes came out, we asked for the future dishes to come out with 4 portions and we would pay the extra. They didn't.
Not having been to a Ping Pong before it would have been helpful to have had some guidance on how to order. You fill in a form and try and get someone’s attention. No one even seems bothered about taking your drinks order and only 25 mins after arriving did we manage to flag someone down. The food arrived quickly once ordered but attention pre-ordering really needs some work. Disinterested staff are not helpful to newbies. This is definitely somewhere you feel more comfortable in if you’ve been before and know the ropes.
The food is excellent, although you should question the size of the servings. We were three people, and had we known that several items come in three pieces, maybe two dishes would have been ample.
They hand you a list to tickbox, but the lighting isn't really bright enough for this. The service is friendly but their paperwork is a bit chaotic!
We had an early table booked and when we first got there it was quiet but filled up pretty quickly so I would recommend booking a table if possible.
Food was lovely and waiter and waitress gave details of food when prompted. The food was well presented and delicious. We ordered the shared set meal which was ample for two people and we also made the most of the happy hour offer of discounted Prosecco!
The ambiance was really nice but the food was not very good. The dim sum is not at all authentic and the dumpling dough was very heavy. Xiaolongbao should be served with soup spoons.
Nobody seemed to be doing front of house but after we managed to get seated the food and service were great. Nice atmosphere although was a bit hot. Had a good meal and would go again!
It was my son’s 16th birthday and obviously a very important day for all the family. We had been Ping Pong before and always left with the best impressions.
The food was excellent and the staff made every effort to make us feel nice. They even arranged to come to the table holding a small cake with a lit candle and started singing Happy Birthday to my son. They made a great effort to create a nice atmosphere for this important day. We were really pleased and we think that they truly deserve a full 5*.
