Very poor service to the extent that my friends and I are concerned about the training all staff members have in relation to food law.
One of my friends is pregnant and has an allergy to crustaceans and all raw food, which I clearly noted in the booking and raised with the manager at the restaurant. But when other members of staff served our food and we asked what each course to check that my friend was not being served the wrong dish, those staff members were not sure what they were serving or what allergens were in each dish.
Additionally, it took three times for them to understand my pregnant friend wanted to have water with a squeeze of fresh lime juice.
They also overcharged us on the bill until I told them to remove two items from the order.
The whole evening was very stressful and “a disaster” as my pregnant friend said. And both of my friends were only staying in London for a few days, so this gave them a very bad impression of the cuisine London has to offer...
Ran out of lots of things including rice!!
Forgot our dumplings
We expect a better service for sure. We went there on Bank Holiday and I understand it was crazy busy for them but we did not received any type of attention.
The waitress was almost annoyed when we were calling here.
It was my boyfriend bday and I asked to received a plate for the dessert with a little note but nothing came. What's the point to mention at the moment of the booking if they don't care at the end?
Overpriced for the cocktails personally I had better service in other places for the same price
At 8:30 pm on a Wednesday, Ping Pong was heaving with customers having a very loud night out. The service was friendly and efficient, the food tasty as always. But my dinner partner and I had to yell across the table to be heard. The tables are simply too close together and there are too many of them. A buzzy experience but not a relaxing one. This has happened one too many times. I don’t think I’ll be back.
The food tasted absolutely amazing, true value for money. The staff were very attentive and courteous and made our dining experience great extra special. I absolutely recommend Ping Pong
Great food and excellent service. Got a tad noisy as it started to fill up where we were sitting.
Good quick food. Nothing really special or exceptional.
Overall of the usual good Ping Pong standard. Main restaurant busy, hot and noisy so we chose to sit in the terrace which was great, but meant service was a bit delayed. Very happy overall.
Crowded, tables very close together. Good service, fast food, arrives at random or all at once.
We went for Lazy Dim Sum option, tried most of the options for vegetarians.
If you are a small eater this deal is not good for you, but if you can eat like a horse (but still appreciate the taste) it's a good deal.
Most of the dishes were served almost at the same time, it'd be better if they make their tables bigger as it's quite small for 2 people.
Just a bit slow at the tail end of the meal, and quite a few distractions with waiters dropping food across the restaurant
Everything was great and tasty. 1 item was missing (pork Puffs) and never received, but we left it as they seemed so busy and we had waited half an hour after finishing the rest of the food. First time that has happened though. Overall great food and service.
Really poor service. Took 30 minutes for the bill to come
Love Ping Pong. The food is always delicious. It’s not a relaxing time particularly as the atmosphere is always busy and noisy but if you’re ok with that’s its awesome.
Amazing food, fantastic service and lovely ambience
Excellent Service and Tasty Food - Just love all the variety of small dishes to choose from
Visited on a Sunday evening. Great food and service, thoroughly recommended
Fast food service, fantastic food. Due to high volume of people the service dipped slightly. Happy to go back.
Always enjoy visits to ping pong southbank. Cocktails are great, food and service perfect.
I love Ping Pong! The vegan options are delicious.
Good friendly service for a noisy group of five. Food came out a bit staggered and drinks took a long time to come but overall, pretty good as per.
On the downside, being a Friday evening and very busy, we expected the service to be a bit slow, which is was. But you could see that the waiters were trying. Unfortunately halfway through the meal a group of rowdy tourists got the table next to us, which was clearly not big enough for all of them, so they were spilling over, squishing me into a pillar. No apologies for that, and the volume got louder and louder to the point when my partner and I had to give up on talking to each other. The waiters knew what was going on but did nothing, in fact it seems like they all knew each other, so no hope to salvage our date night and we left early.
On the plus side, the food was really lovely, we went for a mix of dumplings and buns/baos - yum! I'd highly recommend the Char Siu Buns, and Black Prawn Dumplings.
Were looking for an asian lunch and we found one. It was good, many pieces and different meals.
Very good service friendly when very busy- food ok not as good as other traditional dim sum and expensive but made up with service and it’s excellent location
We went there with 4 older children on the occasion of our Twins birthday. Seating area felt like a corridor in a waiting room, Overall it was busy as you would expect in the Southbank, maybe this is the problem. No one really making any effort. Prawn crackers came out with one solitary rice that then went cold and when we pointed this out to the waitress for it to be replaced with a frsh one when the rest of our food was ready. She argued with us that that dishes just come out when they are ready. Pretty sure we go the same rice back 15 mins later with the rest of the food. I have had better visits here years ago. Shame as it was my recommendation to the family.
Food not great have eaten better at low key Asian outlets non chain
Ok description serves me well
Reliable tasty dim sum, fast service and great teas selection
Good food. Reasonably priced. The service was excellent
It can be a bit hit and miss from a service point of view if it's really busy but the food is consistently freshly made and good. It's why I come back here time after time.
Food was delicious. Great location, and great to order a few things to share.
Really enjoyed a meal before the theatre. Varied menu. Nice cocktails
Good for a quick something in a very busy location. Went on a Friday and glad we booked. Food and cocktails were good and I’d go again and recommend the place.
Love going to Ping Pong. Staff are lovely and the food is always good and fresh and very good value too
Some of the food was very good, but a few dishes disappointed - some of the dumplings that should have had liquid inside were dry, the edamame potato croquettes were plain, there were not enough edamame. It was very noisy and a bit squashed, but the service was friendly and the wine good. Price was a little high for what we ate.
food and service were outstanding. Highly recommend!!
The food is excellent, the service was good. The let downs were a lack of air conditioning, and the tables and seating were far too cramped. Finally, the lunch basket was a nice tasting mix, and reasonable price. Overall, food nice, service good, but seating far too cramped with no ACU, so it's 3 out of 5. They could improve by making more space per person, and install ACU.
Terrible food with smiley service by some staff.
Love Ping Pong, the food and the cocktails never disappoint. Only downfall is that no matter when you go they have always run out of something, which is a big let down I think.
